I just watched again parts of TAR17 and looked at numerous Donny Mills breaks. What he does is actually more amazing then what I wrote in an earlier post.
When he was playing his best in the match, the diagram shows what he was doing break after break after break. Notice the 1,2,3,4 balls are left at the head of the table and the 6,7,8,9 are at the foot of the table. CB in the center of the table. Note the 3-6 carom.
Here was his racking routine:
1) Using the Delta-13 Elite, rack the balls using this pattern (from the rackers POV): 1-74-593-68-2
2) Roll the balls such that the numbers are pointing straight up
3) Press the 1 gently back into the rack (creating strategic gaps, per CJ's recent post?)
4) Break 2 diamonds up and one diamond over, medium speed, a little low-right english
