Many of you know I've been playing around with the idea of delivering pool lessons online for a long time. Allen Hopkins and I are setting up a booth at the expo called Pool Lessons Online (we're sharing a booth with The Action Report).
We're in the very initial stages of setting up a site for exactly that--- to deliver real-time, highly interactive lessons over the internet. I believe we'll allow any top player, instructor or gambler to deliver lessons through the site and set their own hourly rate.
The focus of the site will be moves, strategy, systems, and other education that will make you a better player. This definitely will not be a "how to hold a cue" site.
I know many people believe you can't teach anything pool related over the internet and that's simply not the case. Back in 2002, I was helping physicians in Philadelphia teach diabetic wound debridement lessons to doctors in the Belize jungle in real-time over the web. Suffice it to say, if we can teach a doctor how to heal a gaping wound on someone's foot or leg, teaching them how to escape a 1P break shouldn't be hard at all.
I'm doing this because I think there's a need out there and with the current economic climate, many probably can't invest the money to travel cross-country. My sincere hope is that these pros/instructors can supplement their existing income and never have to leave their house. If any of you wanted 1P/14.1/10B lessons from top pros and other legends of the game, you will soon be able to pick their brain to your heart's content while using the full multimedia capabilities of the internet.

Maybe this won't fly - maybe it'll turn into something big for the pros/teachers. Either way, it'll be a fun little side project.
