Nice case bud. :groucho:

So you want to know what Jack Justis is really like?

I e-mailed him this morning, Finally my beloved 15 year old Justis case lid strap broke after years of abuse. This is my daily player case, so it's well used. I e-mailed Jack to ask him if he could fix it.

To my surprise, Jack called me up. He said "maybe I can just make you a new lid".

I said "no Jack, I like my old lid, I just want to have the strap fixed."

He said "mail me the lid and I'll set you up. I'll try to save the lid. Or I'll make you a new one just like it."

I said "how much?"

He said "nothing. I guarantee my cases for life".

I said "Jack I feel bad. The case is old and I've abused it. No strap would hold up forever - I carry it by the lid handle a lot!".

He said " no - it's not your fault. it was probably just a bad strap. "

I said "Jack, if you guarantee your cases for life, how many cases have you had to fix?"

He said "maybe six".

I said " a month?"

He said " no, altogether, maybe 6 cases in 20 years. My cases hold up a long time. That's why I can guarantee them for life".

We talked for at least an hour. We had a lot of laughs. What a great guy. I asked him if I could send postage money,. He refused to accept any payment. No wonder he's booked up for awhile.

Great post! Makes me want one even more, after reading this.

Oh great a positive thread. What are we supposed to do with this?

Pretty amazing feeling dealing with a guy that is giving you more customer service than you feel your situation warrants. Great of you to take the time to mention it.

Thanks

Kevin

If I were to say I was surprised, I would be lying. One of the true gentlemen and class acts in the industry. I always enjoy chatting with him at the shows. I'm proud to own Jack Justis cases. :ok:

Now I like my Justis case even more than I did yesterday...No, wait...can't really say that.

What a great post. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Jack Justis case. Wherever I go people's eyes seem to pop at it and they all want to see and touch it. The comments are always like "how beautiful, what great craftmanship, wow!!!" Best case I ever owned!

Rex,

Jack actually mentioned to me that you were one of the most talented upcoming leather artists he's ever seen too. He said he was very impressed with your work. This is coming from a man who is, and has seen, the very best.

I couldn't make the cue show but I defintely want to connect up whenever you're down here or if I make a trip up there. He mentioned a case with a red haired girl - do you have any pics you can post?

Chris

wow great compliment.....you can't buy advertisement like that

Thumbs Up

Very nice story. Sounds like a stand up guy. I have been always impressed with his work and would love for him to make me a case some day. That day will come within time. Thanks for posting.

I as well as a few of my friends have a Jack Justis case. We have yet to have any trouble with them and we all know that if we do Jack will take care of it. He is in a class of his own. Thanks Jack for all you do and keep up the great work.

Great post.

Its really nice and refreshing to see a post like this. All too often all we get to see and comment on are the people whom we are complaining about. This is why Justis cases are still one of the most sought after cases on the market, new and old. I love to read positive stories about first class guys. Tate is also a stand up guy and great to do business with. Great post Chris. I hope all is well

Another Example

Last spring I bought a new dark brown Jack Justis case on the secondary market. When it arrived I noticed that the shoulder pad was mahogany and didn't match the rest of the case. Although I was very surprised that this wasn't disclosed by and otherwise reputable AZBer, I didn't send it back because it would have been too big a hassle. I took the pad off and used the case without it.

Later I decided that it was a waste so I sent the pad to Jack thinking he could use it since it was unused. I explained what had happened and told him I just didn't want it to go to waste and did not want anything in return. Shortly thereafter I was surprised to receive a dark brown shoulder pad from Jack. Just another example of the kind of guy Jack is. They don't come any better. Thanks again Jack.

I sent my lid to Jack Fed Ex, and the box got there today.

He's making me a whole new lid and strap, with all the extra tooling and all that, with the thicker leather he now uses, on his weekend time and shipping it back to me on Monday.

100% Free.

How strong is that? That's stronger than jumping full table length with a Meucci! :)

This is old school service, folks. The way it used to be before voice mail and Pakistan customer service departments and the small print and the other ways people use to get rid of you.
