As some of you know a while back I was working on getting Rogan and Strickland together to play a challenge match. Well at that time Joe's wife was getting ready to have a baby and so we just could not get it together and I totally understand.
Joe told me he would do it and was in, obviously he would be getting some kind of weight and if we did a PPV we would make sure that bith guys got paid and that there was something in the middle to play for. I would also make sure that some of the proceeds went to a charity of the winners choice. The guys would be mic'ed up etc.

My problem is I have been trying to get a hold of Joe for a little while now and I have not been able to. So Joe if you are out there please shoot me a email to cantrillmark@yahoo.com

If this semi fun match up is something you would like to see please make a comment as it may bring Joe out of hiding :) Since he had his shot at Earl with his impression I think as long as Iput some $$ in the middleit could be entertaining.

Mark,

He has his own forum, Mark, which seems to be much bigger that our own AzBilliards: http://forums.joerogan.net/ :grin-square:

Here is his schedule, according to the website: http://blog.joerogan.net/calendar

He also has a Twitter and Facebook account which can be found on his website: http://www.joerogan.net

Hope this helps a little! :)

I'm betting he checks in here more often than folks realize. Even if he doesn't log in. Just a guess, mind you.

He did make a post in a thread I was reading a short time ago. 11-4-10, Seminole Tour thread.

Persoanlly I think it's pretty cool that he checks in here under his real name. He sure seems like a regular guy. A cool, funny regular guy. And he plays pool, too!

I hope you get that match together, Mark. I'll make sure to get that if available on PPV!

This would be entertaining as all get out!

I think the toughest chore is how to make it competitive. We know Joe has got some pretty good game, but he's still going to need a lot of weight.

I can only imagine the caliber of jawing is going to be off the charts! We know Joe is a quick witted genius, and Earl can dish it with the best of 'em too! I hope you can pull this together soon Mark!

Hey Jennie, I know he is a busy guy but I would like to see if he is still up for it and get some kind of time frame. From what I know Joe is a good guy and I am sure he will try to make it when he can.

I am gonna keep working on it as I have since the famous Rogan Channels Earl Strickland video. I have spoken to Earl when this first came out and he said he was in too. Lets have some fun with this I say but I also want $$$ in the middle so there is something to go for.

Maybe, if you tie Earl's arms behind his back and blindfold him, it might be an even match. I watched the Earl & Daz match on Saturday. Earl was awesome. He just never misses. It would be a fun match though. Good luck on setting it up. Maybe Earl can play one handed.

The weight would be as good as we could get it to make the match good. If we could only get a hold of Mr Rogan.

I frequent his forum. Register and post and you'll get a response he's there regularly.

It would be an honor to play Earl in any capacity, I'm a huge fan.
I'm just way too busy to commit to anything these days, though. I played Thursday night for the first time in months. Between stand up, working for the UFC, doing my podcast and writing this book I've been working on I just don't have the time unfortunately.

I was talking to Mark about this match up on the phone earlier. Although he or Justin will be running the show, I figured it couldn't hurt to make a few reccomendations:

1) I think it's critical that Joe get all the breaks as a portion of his spot. That way Joe will get his fair share of time at the table, rather than having Earl lay into him with an 8 pack. lol

2) Also, this match has the ability to entice casual viewers - maybe even a few from outside of the pool world (Joe's fans). As such, it should cater to them in every way possible, mainly by keeping the length of the race significantly shorter than typical challenge matches. Maybe a race to 25 at 9 ball to keep it quick and exciting. 9 ball will give Joe a better chance of running the occasional rack, which will in turn increase the fun factor. After all, Earl is clearly the better player, so the focus should be on fun and entertainment, rather than who possesses the superior game.

3) Both players need to be miked. The banter that will go on between the two players suggests to me a more exciting display than the pool being played.

Make it happen Mark! This will be pure gold!

Mr. Joe,

Find one day. Bring the ass weights and I would definitely pay to see this!

Best,
