I've been following this thread for days and haven't much felt like responding. It looks too much like a match that will never happen.
I have seen Quintan play and he is definitely quite talented, but this last post got me to thinking. If he really wants to make a big score over here, he should not limit himself to playing just John. There is real money to be made in the states for a great player like Quintan. Steve Knight came over from England nearly ten years ago and grabbed over sixty grand.
You see Quintan, we do have many real gamblers over here, who would be glad to accommodate you at a variety of games. And they are mostly "second rate" players like John. There is a young fellow up in New York that never wins any tournaments, but has deep pocket backers. His name is Dennis Hatch. He is rated about John's speed or slightly under. One suggestion though. DO NOT challenge him to a fight. It will be your last if you do.
Another young gentleman from Oklahoma named Gabe Owens is constantly on the look out for big games. And then there's Jeremy Jones in Texas, with bundles of cash to be won. And back East Larry Nevil and Stevie Moore would be huge scores if you could beat them at any pool game. In Atlanta you probably could get a ten or twenty thousand dollar Eight Ball game with Cliff Joyner. There are so many chickens to pluck over here, you may want to launch a new pool career.
Even an old man like Allen Hopkins may give you a go at Eight Ball. Or an unknown like Chris Bartram. Or a youngster like Justin Bergman. Just throwing out some ideas for you. If you are half as good as you think you are, you could easily make that $100,000 score that appeals to you. In fact, just come to Derby City in January. I will promise you at least thirty thousand worth of action there. And you won't have to play any famous players either.
Oh and before you ask, I have a few dollars to bet myself. I'm not afraid to gamble either. If you want to play some with Gabe, Cliff or Stevie, we can post thirty grand to kick it off. Come on down and let's have some fun.
