John Schmidt/Shane Van Boening Vs. Quintan Hann????

chamillionare said:
no i wont be tt ing money to anyone i never meet for a game that is not going to happen and then hope it gets sent back all sounds too unnessasary if john confirms here ill send money to you no prob.

also no one has ever labeled me all show and no go i back up everything i say it is one of the morals i do possess.
plus you should have realised i dont care if people think im full of shit im here to take john's money thats all:cool:
Please tell us about the morals you do not possess. Just so we are all clear.

Also, to come on here & sound like some over wealthy pool player that doesn't need money is nothing more than ironic considering your past actions in the pool world. Sounds to me, from your past, that money is in fact a driving force in how you act & what you do.

Is my math wrong??

Have you tried buying and foreign currency with U>S> green backs lately?

Last time I looked you have to spend a lot more dollars to do any buying of most other currency. Especially Eropean.

Just checking. I could be wrong but my dollars aren't taking me quite as far internationaly.

What up??

My Rep At The Local Poker Room Smells Like Dead Fish (and tartar sauce)

I mean, my God, people today on this forum are more worried about how much green rep they have and whether they are on the first page of Reputation Rankings, so much so that one poster questioned why my rep level was so high when I had not posted for so long. He just couldn't stand it that I was in the number-two slot, especially since I was not posting. I didn't even pay attention to rep until recently. Nobody else used to either, but today, it seems to be quite important to some members here.

I got news for you, folks. If getting green rep is the highlight of your life, you need to get off of this forum and find a better passtime. Believe me, there is more to life than green rep on AzBilliards. :D

Well, you know that I like you, so, may I give you some green Rep for this post.

I've been following this thread for days and haven't much felt like responding. It looks too much like a match that will never happen.

I have seen Quintan play and he is definitely quite talented, but this last post got me to thinking. If he really wants to make a big score over here, he should not limit himself to playing just John. There is real money to be made in the states for a great player like Quintan. Steve Knight came over from England nearly ten years ago and grabbed over sixty grand.

You see Quintan, we do have many real gamblers over here, who would be glad to accommodate you at a variety of games. And they are mostly "second rate" players like John. There is a young fellow up in New York that never wins any tournaments, but has deep pocket backers. His name is Dennis Hatch. He is rated about John's speed or slightly under. One suggestion though. DO NOT challenge him to a fight. It will be your last if you do. :)

Another young gentleman from Oklahoma named Gabe Owens is constantly on the look out for big games. And then there's Jeremy Jones in Texas, with bundles of cash to be won. And back East Larry Nevil and Stevie Moore would be huge scores if you could beat them at any pool game. In Atlanta you probably could get a ten or twenty thousand dollar Eight Ball game with Cliff Joyner. There are so many chickens to pluck over here, you may want to launch a new pool career.

Even an old man like Allen Hopkins may give you a go at Eight Ball. Or an unknown like Chris Bartram. Or a youngster like Justin Bergman. Just throwing out some ideas for you. If you are half as good as you think you are, you could easily make that $100,000 score that appeals to you. In fact, just come to Derby City in January. I will promise you at least thirty thousand worth of action there. And you won't have to play any famous players either.

Oh and before you ask, I have a few dollars to bet myself. I'm not afraid to gamble either. If you want to play some with Gabe, Cliff or Stevie, we can post thirty grand to kick it off. Come on down and let's have some fun.
Hey Jay, good ol' Quinten might have a little more action than he thinks. Let's see.... Hatch (good one), Little Tony (when he's right, nobody has to win), James Walden (good luck pluckin' that chicken, Quinten), Stevie (bartable demon), Bartram, Nevel (yeah, offer him a fight?! I'll give two to one), Cliff (might be the best one pocket player including Efren on a given day), Frost (just thought I'd throw that in). Shannon Daulton (play some one hole or banks?) etc. etc. There's a shitload of money over here without playing Johnny, Shane, Rudolfo, Efren, Orcullo, etc. I'm sure the US would make sure he was accomodated.

Your sense of humor is not lost on me and it is reaching me, even though it is traveling a rather bumpy and crooked road. :D

Hang in there and come visit. I want to see you play any pool game.

there are some real wallys here on this interent site?

Real Wallys - must be an Australian term, I've never encountered it before, Could you provide a definition?

If you two players ever do battle will one put his tin hat on?

FYI

In WWI soldiers were issued useless tin hats. They put their tin hats on to go out to be slaughtered.

Always trying to improve the education of AZB readers.:D

actually i probably am or was the most naturaly gifted player in the world with any cue any game ask players who have seen me play alot and name a better all around player with more talent i bet you cant with any amount of reasonable logic i was the best all round player no contest

ronnie is a god at snooker and the best ever and i was in awe of his talent but his brain and cue action is wired for snooker and he could never be very good at any other game. who else is there? john smidt if i play pool its garanteed i would own him at all the games except possibly straight pool. although i ran a hundred balls in 5 or 6 goes to warm up during ipt it aint that hard to run a 100 or 150 shit id run 200 in a few weeks no problem playing everyday

you know how many players came up to me in my career and told me this and what your gonna say im no good because i wont come over there and scratch around playing 5 grand comps just to prove myself to people i never meet.there are some real wallys here on this interent site? why dont you start a get quinten fund and back john ill put in 100 dollars to get it started ok and then when you get 30k ill come over and open your eyes to real talent shit i might even learn these other games and clean up all the second rate pro's like smidt
if i get lucky and beat harriman,im going to let quinten play me the next action all around challenge.thats all im going to say about that.

This is Daryl Peach......after reading this thread i just wanted to say my piece.

I have not seen John too much, probably because i dont travel to the USA that often. But what i have seen of him is very impressive, a real talent, and such a nice guy......i have never heard him say a bad word about anyone, nor have i heard one said about him (until this thread lol)

Quinten on the other hand in know better, we have been in each others company quite a few times and we even played each other at snooker as juniors (i won! sorry QH had to sneek that in lol)

Firstly, even though quinten said earlier in this thread that i couldnt make it at snooker, then turned to pool and i am world 9ball champ.....yes its true, but i just wanna say that it has took me 13years of playing pool at the top level to become World 9ball Champ, so its not like i just turned up one day and won the WPC.

My view on Quinten....
He is an absolute brilliant cuesport talent, of that there is no doubt.
He reached the top16 of the world snooker rankings without hardly practicing.....i beleive that if he had a better mental approach to the game he would have been top4 easily!......but he often lost his head, and only Quinten knows why that was.
Darren Appleton has already said how good he was at English 8ball (and he knows more than anyone about that game)
And he proved his worth in the IPT too.......i beleive he would have been top 8 if the IPT had have carried on.
All this without hardly practicing.....and i also beleive that if he played solid for 6months at other games i.e 9ball 14-1 etc etc he would be a match for anyone!

He is a massive talent, and the main reason why he is so dangerous is because he is fearless......and i mean fearless.

So i think that if it was IPT rules, Quinten is a good FAV.....8ball on Simonis etc etc....he is still FAV but not as big.
Anyway thats my say on the matter.

See you all in Vegas for the World Masters and the Predator 10ball event.

Daryl.

i was not trying to take away anything from your accomplishent at the world 9 ball when i said you were a snooker pro years before. snooker is a hard slog and nowhere near as much fun as the pool scene and i partly think all your years of snooker held you in good stead under pressure during the big accassion and you did the bussiness your a class player. but hey you need to play well and have a lot of luck in 9 ball to be the world champ but you done it i bet after all your years of playing winning that has given you a real sense of accomplishment. i would never dare challenge a player of your calibre to an 8 ball match thats for sure, i only pick on average players that tend to twitch under pressure like john smidt.

John seems to have a pretty full plate

John seems to have a pretty full plate. I see that the IPT wants him to come play one pocket with the current world champion. TAR wants him for an all around with Harriman.

Hard to figure why he would bother to play with Hann.

If you are indeed a millionaire a 100,000 dollar match shouldn't be hard for you to commit to. John says he can raise this much.

So what is stopping this match from coming together?

John is a 500 pound gorilla on a pool table. Be ready to play if by some wild twist of fate that this match actually happens.

OOOOOHHHHHH by the way! Shane Van Boening has a standing offer for anyone to play him bar box 8 ball for 50K. You are a millionaire. 50K and a plane ticket to South Dakota should be no big deal for you. Why not match up with Shane on the box???????? Come on man let go of some of that cash.

Please correct me if I am wrong on Shane's standing offer to the world.
