JOHNNY ARCHER apologizes for text to Mike Dechaine

1on1pooltournys, what is curious is why JA would issue an apology to MD on this forum, adding that he is going to try to put his best foot forward, be a better person, et cetera, et cetera, and then the very next thing he does is get on a livestream and bad-mouth Keith McCready, Ronnie Wiseman, et al. It's absurd.

I've noticed one thing about Johnny Archer. He will walk by you and try to pretend to be your friend and then go behind your back and talk to 10 different people about that person, usually all bad.

That's the way he rolls, and that's the way he operates. Seen it too many times.

If I know someone and they do something that is out of character and it involves me, I would call and ask them "I heard some things and it doesn't sound like something you would do, whats going on?" I would handle it the way it should be handle... but hey thats just me.

And that's the way it should be done. I completely agree to this point. Why didn't you just suggest that on the thread instead?

Your post just sounded like it should be ok since it's believed he's having personal issues. JA is smart enough to know when he's on a stream and he's supposed to know he's a professional representative of ABP.

That being said, I tend to think if your example above was in public or online for all to see, you'd also be tempted to respond to an audience as well.

Johnny would have us believe that Mike said something to his wife that was inappropriate. Clearly, from this response, that did not happen. It would appear that in talking to Johnny’s wife he shared his opinion about the APB. The nuance is quite different. Mike’s clarification makes the most sense to me and that made me think that JA’s approach to reacting to criticism is to deflect attention from the real discussion.

Hmmmm, you are not happy with the opinion of MD in respect of the APB so you wax indignantly about him talking about it to your wife instead of discussion the concerns that Mike has with the APB.

Now I can understand the whole JA comes on the forum and posts a “Message from Johnny Archer” thing. Some might say that it was a a thinly disguised “someone picked on me in a “You Johnny lovers” post and I’m going to say that they insulted me and all real pool lovers. However some of us thought that he was sincere in saying he would answer questions not covered by confidentiality agreements. Clearly he was not.

His response to the mild criticism for not coming back to provide answers (mixed in with the adulation he was hoping for) was to get into this whole MD did me and my family wrong thing. It certainly has deflected attention from the fact that he has not responded to any, even the most innocuous, of questions.

I’ve caught MD’s act at tournaments, exuberant and highly competitive as a player and (mostly) approachable and fan friendly as a professional interacting with fans.

Johnny, you invited questions, you promised answers within the parameters that you set. It is time for some answers.

Johnny is now into the politics of pool. He is being a good politician. State that you want to be open, then deflect the subject to something else, and never actually answer anything. Just throw some crap out there, if it sticks, watch the masses fawn over it and totally forget about what the real questions were. Next statement could well be " I was going to answer questions, but since this has turned into a "roast", we are done here."

He's had months to answer any questions and never has even attempted to. Did you guys really think he was going to now? His first statement here, he got caught in a lie. That pretty much finished it for him. (the signing/not signing a confidentiality agreement)

These guys play fantastic pool. Great to watch. Leaders, role models?? Nah...they are pool players, just stick with what you know. You play, you look good, you try other things, you don't look so good anymore. They are just "bangers'" when it comes to leading or politics of the game. They have much to learn, and all their mistakes while learning only make them look silly.

I generally resist the urge to reply to or quote you but I have to ask how in the world you came to this conclusion. If someone's wife talks TO ME about something her husband is doing I can say what I think about it. It doesn't matter if I agree with her or not.

If, and it's a guess not a fact, Mike had said, "Hey your husband is an idiot" then I could see Melanie getting mad. But who knows what was said? Everyone recounts from their own point of view. Big deal, they disagreed, no need to get violent.

I'm sorry to hear the first part of your post. You were both a player & an 'instructor' to whom I had had respect.

However it seems that instructors in general only read into certain text what they want to. Perhaps some loyalty in your eyes has clouded your reading skills or...perhaps I did not make myself crystal clear.

I did not mean to literally say that Melanie SHOULD have slapped Mike because like you, I, & others have pointed out we don't even know what was said to her. However we do know it was such that Johnny got pretty upset & made some 'bad' phone texts.

It now seems that Mike is saying that it goes back to last year's Mosconi Cup. How old are Johnny's texts.

I was merely pointing out that IF Mike did say something that he should not have that perhaps a little 'love' slap might have put an end to it & we would not be here today. I also think I said that if she had that she probably would have gone to jail for assault & battery. If I did not say it I thought it.

I am not obsessing over any 'slap fights'. Are you suggesting that had Melanie slapped Mike that he would have slapped her back? Maybe you know him better than some of us.

JA is taking questions, but can't comment on BB due to non-disclosure.
JA's original Contract w/ BB, should be Breech @ this point, due to non-payment, etc.

MD possibly made a comment regarding BB & ABP & JA -

deflection? let's stay on topic!

Johnny simply needs to address the BB incident & attempt some semblance of damage control.

Okay, if the last paragraph is in fact what happened then its no big deal. Unless there was previous bad blood between the two of them, then if thats the case this Mike shouldnt have said anything more to the woman besides "Hello, how are you ?" If theres bad blood and hes making remarks about the husband then its not very good judgement at all on his part.

If youre having a problem with someone, the last person you want to criticize them or their methods to is thier family.

And i say once again, this crap doesnt belong here anyway. Posting texts, do people actually think anymore ?

Probably didn't like Ronnie calling him on it when he sharked Ronnie during a match. I've also seen the same act at other times.

I am pretty sure he admitted he DID NOT sign a non-disclosure agreement, refer to the New Questions for Johnny Archer on page #1

So he is just avoiding the hard questions. Which is all of them.
