No Bonus Ball live stream???

So I went to a concert last night, and I certainly don't have time to read this entire thread but I think I get the gist of it. Pretty unfortunate for them (the WPBL) because first impressions can matter, but I kind of expected some sort of bugs. In my business we do go lives and onboarding on different stuff and even though it has been looked at from every possible angle it always seems there is something off the first time you bring it on line. No biggie in my opinion. Just get it right the next time. Definitely think they deserve another shot.

$20 and a Van ride can get people in the seats (maybe free roll tickets or drink tokens)

Well yeah i implied they had to do something like that but FB still said they couldnt overcome the Strip/Poker machines

I wonder what would happen if the Vegas audience spectators would make it rain at the BB stage.

It was and anyone who did buy it I am sure will be refunded and have a whole weekend of free top notch pool. I did not read the thread but have to say it was a great match tonight and the crowd loved it. It was great we got so many viewers and attention but sucked that it crashed the server. Enjoy this weekend and check it out. It don't cost anything so what do you have to lose?

So your saying there were so many viewers ,that the site crashed?:rotflmao1:

LMFAO. Well you won't have to worry about that problem again.

In-person viewers are not going to make a success out of pool.

Worth every penny, I agree.

You can count on it. In about 12 hours they are going to do it again and for all the weeks after that.

Talked to Nathan on FB and he is confident it's all good now. We will see.

Nathan is nothing but confident - and that causes all his failure.

You didn't need to wait to construction is complete to check on your streaming.to see if it would actually work in real time. A band doesn't walk out on stage without doing a sound check.

The too many users line is simply b.s. The 10,000 viewers is extreme b.s. I said this last night, this whole thing is a cross between a Sham Wow infomercial and the Joyce Meyer Ministries channel.

The screen of the match doesn't even fit on your computer 100% with the setup Nathan put up. There is no chat, which is a big mistake for PPV / Streaming.

Hey JAM - just one small example. The Master's - the biggest golf tournament all year - streamed this year - coverage from all around the course. I can guarantee, just in case you or someone else might not believe it, that they had more viewers in one minute than BB will get in their lifetime, and they had no issues.

This is beyond the fact that the players and even the referee don't know the rules much more than the two hotties standing by the table.

By the way, I didn't see one player either playing the game or in the introductions or sitting in the stands last night smiling. Not one time.

The above is CORRECT.
Also, I was clearly under the impression that, prior to the Grand Opening, the whole audience (whomever they were) had been fed an overdose of sedatives . ;)

Yup...I said in another thread:

I couldn't do better, but the outfit, while run by passionate people with (IMO) the best intentions...is absolutely amatureish.

I work in an industry where we offer live entertainment and when we put on a new show- which we do multiple times annually and have been doing for decades- it is rehearsed for Months and planned for much longer.

I can't propose a solution for the folks in charge, but they need PMPs who can engineer success, not folks who hope and spend...and the product is still pool.

It is actually a fact that the site went down due to all of the traffic on it along with the video server. If you doubt my word which has always been good and I am sure many will vouch then please doubt my money too and bet something or just ask some of the members who posted about not even being able to access the site at all.

We are not happy about the the crash but we are happy with so much interest in it, the arena was packed and the viewership was overwhelming. Personally I did not expect it to do numbers like that at all. Sorry I took the time to reply, back to the good fight but first some sleep. :)

P.S. It is FREE all weekend so tune in at 9pm EST for the next match and we do believe any problems will be taken care of so you can all enjoy some top notch pool.

Nathan wrote on Facebook...

Certainly didn't expect that many viewers, and the servers didn't stand a chance. But as of an hour ago, I just added a new larger VPS to host the site, video bandwidth increased to accommodate over 10k viewers, and IOS device support added. Day 2 should be good to go.

I think this is is the general feeling of the Bonus Ball crew right now.

Come on man these guys are pros bro. They practice this game for 8-10 hours a day and hone their craft. They get together and have formal practices on off days and do early practice on game days. Obviously they know the rules of the league that pays them as well as the referees.

Where's Lutman when we need him lol.

Sooooo jaded.

Not exactly but thanks for taking the time for the picture.

I did want to add that pro pool has been in a deep hole for many many years and we are trying to change things for the better. With some of the setbacks in the past and the trouble tonight you might think someone was out to get pro pool for some reason. I for one appreciate the support and even the curiosity of people along with the time spent on the negative stuff too as you are just peaking more curiosity on this forum. I am sure we will have big numbers tomorrow too with all these threads and post on here. Thanks! :)

Why the site went down is no mystery, it was simply overloaded. I've seen sites crash with 20 simultaneous viewers. It is exactly how a DDoS works. The server or routers cannot respond fast enough and traffic backs up.

As far as gambling on the 10,000 unique viewers, who will be providing the access logs and will that person be bondable?
