With the price of gas I can't see how TAR could afford to pay to get Donny to the TAR room. Donny is like Rainman when it comes to flying.

Hmm, maybe President Obama should appoint you to be the U.S. ambassador to Iran or North Korea? You can then apply your skills in putting matches together toward negotiating a resolution to the talks on nuclear disarmament.![]()
Just as on the national and international stage, it's often better to do things "quietly" through diplomatic channels than try to resolve the issues through the press or in this case, on a discussion forum.
Since your approach apparently didn't work, maybe now you can tell us why you decided to issue your challenge to JS and DH on a discussion forum?
JAM - read this and you can catch up to all the goat talk.

Maybe he was trying to clip his nails? LOL....:rotflmao1:
John and Danny - how much is the most you have made in a year from a sponsor? Was it $118,548? I'll do the math for you -- $1,000 guaranteed for 3 days play for TAR. That is $333 a day X 365 days in a year = $118,548.
i'd like to suggest that instead of issuing a match challenge here on the forums, that Justin try quietly using back channels instead.
...that being said ill still am willing to play u Danny, that's the best i can do to try to help myself, u, tar, the fans, etc.
Wow! This thread is close to 400 postings...about a match that won't even occur.

.
Couldnt possibly be I had a reason for doing it the way I did it. I mean what the hell do I know about putting matches together ?
roll eyes
Sshhhhh! Don't tell that to the promotors, hustlers and rail birds here on AZB.If it doesn't make dollars, then it doesn't make sense...
This thread may be long, and you may not like what it's about, but you keep posting here? What's up with that?..... There are lots of other post's on AZ, where you can spend your time. You know what the whole thread is about, and you should know by now, that the match ain't gonna happen. Justin has been up near the top of the list, of people doing good things for pool for a while now. Personally, I think he has a right to offer a challenge match any way he wants to, since they are putting up the dough. I will bet, if you knew the inside story, there was quite a bit of behind the scenes stuff going on, trying to get this match together. Regardless, any thread generating this much interest in a match, without anyone actually getting brutalized, is a good thing. That's my opinion on this thread.
watchez,
Good post (except for that John will play as mentioned again later by him). But this is were you lost me. $1,000 guarantee for a 3 day match that may happen once a year is still $333/day or a $1,000/yr. Certainly not worth over $100,000/yr to them.
I was simply trying to show how generous of an offer TAR made compared to other sponsorships that are available to a pool player.
Ever heard of prematch hype? This is free advertising, leading to more sales. Makes sense to me.
TAR ain't stupid.
I mean no disrespect to Justin either, I am honored to have gotten the chance to compete. I have not played any pool at all in the last three months-before that I was practicing only 3 cushion billiards. I have no hard feelings towards Justin, I just realize that he wanted to let me know who's side he was on by making his post about how he had $2000.00 for John and I promise yall that he did make no offer to me. So I do think he shot himself in the foot a little with that particular post, I hold no grudges and understand where I stand with TAR. Mr. 400 lost the first time we played and I do think the game needs to be played.
I guess I could say also that when I was practicing every day a while back and I asked John for the 3rd all around rematch - and he said no (in his own elequent way) that John was being difficult also as they had raised $2000.00 free money for him - but it is a long wait to be eaten by a goat and that takes time to digest ie knowone likes to lose. It's a little dry 4 me inLas Vegas desert - but I am glad that pool is coming out of the recession.
Danny,
Concerning the $2,000 offer Justin made to John Schmidt, it is possible that Justin wanted to get one of you to agree to play before trying to get both of you to agree to play. If John had agreed to play, I have to think that Justin would have HAD TO OFFER YOU THE SAME DEAL. Sometimes, things that people say or do are taken out of context and maybe, just maybe, Justin was trying to get John to the table first.
While you may think Justin was making you play second fiddle, (and that may be true) the fact remains that if Justin made an offer of $2,000 to John, it only stands to reason that he would have to make you the same offer, BUT ONLY IF John agreed to play.
It might have sounded one-sided but it may only be that Justin never got past first base.
--------------------------
NOW, John has already agreed to play this match with you.
In summary: You and John have the BEST RIVALRY in pool going for you right now (and that could change). You and John are two of the most talented pool players on the planet (right now). The world wants you two to play this match. In my heart of hearts, I believe that you want to play this match. It will give you a chance to prove the naysayers wrong and make $5,000 in the process.
Put this conspiracy theory money business behind you. Eliminate the inclination to stick the needle in John or Justin whether they deserve it or not. It's counter-productive, PERIOD. The same can be said for Justin and John.
Tell Justin how much time it will take for you to prepare (do this PRIVATELY) and see if he has a slot for the match to take place.
Best regards,
JoeyA
I had hopes that all this was hype, but I don't think it is.
TAR has sat, shit, flushed and wiped. Danny is off the (TAR) table, literally.
Gonna taake a hulluva change from the original proposal to get Danny back in the running...and if it were I running the show, Danny would not get a penny until he returned home and the event has concluded.
He's far too risky.
I agree on this, I do not think Justin was going to do that to Danny. Danny, get in the box and play, its a good chance to win some cash. :thumbup:Danny,
