Pool Wars by Jay Helfert

Jay,

Payment sent for 3 copies with special request attached to it. I hope what I added covers shipping cost to HK. If not, just tell me how much more I need to add.

Thanx,

Okay guys, here's the deal. We will go to print next week and I should have 500 books in hand by March 15-20. The first 500 will be a numbered lot, and will be the only books that are numbered. I will offer them first on AZ until there are no more orders or the 500 are gone, whichever comes first. At that time, I will begin the regular advertising in the billiard trades.

The number one edition is taken (by Corvette), so the first book I sell will say 2/500. I will begin taking orders today, and you will receive your numbered edition in the order that I receive payment. You can pay for your signed and numbered copy at my Paypal address - jayhelfert@yahoo.com or by check at P.O. Box 1883, Redondo Beach, CA. 90278.

Total cost including shipping is $24.90. Please include the name you want me to use inside, whether it be your given name or your AZ name or both. All I ask for is your honest feedback on the book. I intend to write at least one or two more books, so any feedback is helpful. Thank you in advance!

Jay,

I just made payment by paypal for my signed and numbered copy of Pool Wars. I have enjoyed all your posts on AZ and have looked forward to this book for quite a while now. (As you have, I`m sure!).

Best of success with the book. I will be spreading the word in the Kansas City area.

Take care,

Will Prout

Looks like I'm going to have a busy first day at the post office! Thanks gang. I'm looking forward to your feedback very much to see if you enjoyed my stories. Please send them to my e-mail address (same as my paypal address).

My next book is tentatively entitled Playing With Fire. It will be written in collaboration with Bobby "Cotton" LeBlanc. Cotton was a well known road man in the late 60's thru the early 90's. What makes his story so intriguing to me is the people he ran around with, lived with and gambled against. It is a who's who of infamous gangsters and underworld figures. By the way, Cotton was a top speed player, who all the other players knew about.

After that, I am in discussion with Archie "The Greek" Karas to do a similar treatment of his life. Archie is only the most famous gambler of this generation. He literally broke the bank in Vegas, winning over forty million in cash. At one time he had ALL the $5,000 chips from Binion's Horseshoe Casino in his box (over $10,000,000). They had to buy their chips back from him; he literally became their bank.

I'd love to do one on Ronnie Allen (he won't sit still long enough I'm afraid) and Jack Cooney as well (he has refused so far).

Woke up to my hot lady, a hot cup o' jo, and this news hot off the press!

Jay, If you get down with Cooney and get in on paper I want to go on record for the first 5 signed copies. That will easily be a best seller. Just the short post on here about him were AWESOME and a book would be the best. I am lookin forward to the Karris stories as well cause that guy was an animal for sure with zero fear as though money had no value but just the way to keep score .. Again, Good Luck Jay...

....Cruise, no he already has a pool character, Ed Norton, maybe, he HAS done a poker movie, we could teach him to play pool, Eddie Murphy, he has played white jewish guys before, but makeup may be cost prohibitive....

I've GOT IT!!!

KEITH MCREADY!!! does he still have his SAG Card??? Keith, shave your head, we're going to Hollywood!

This is definitely "your" kind of story Johnny. All non fiction too by the way. Bobby's been there, done that! Ask any old timer about Cotton. They all know him.
