They need a section for just raffles ..........
There was a time when you had perhaps 10 items all posted in seperate threads and bumping them all at once instead of just having one thread, should we have had a section for all of your items?brianna187 said:They need a section for just raffles ..........
Nine Ball said:A raffel is just another way to sell a cue.. I think they are in the right section. I'm sure nobody will agree with me. and it's not like there is a whole page full. There are maybe 5 up at a time..
But who am I? I'm nobody.. So I probably have no idea what I'm talking about.
Just my worthless opinion as usual..![]()
SKEPTIC!!!!!Klopek said:Regarding the raffles,
What's to stop someone from saying they are only offering 10 spots at $25 a pop and then selling 20 spots?.
How would anyone know otherwise?.
And if someone kicks in an extra hundred, might their name be the only one in the hat?.
I don't know, call my a skeptic.
RRfireblade said:I'm still on the fence with them myself but regardless , with the practice being pretty clearly illegal , I'd be suprised if the forum openly supported the practice with the addition of a separate section. At least they can play dumb as it is.
Could be wrong tho.
Club Billiards said:Very much agreed. A lot of people seem to agree with you too. Gets in the way of looking for something to buy. I think if they have a section to show off cues that are not for sale (the gallery) then a section for raffles is justified.
The only problem is that if AZB has a specific section for raffles, then they are obviously supporting and allowing the raffles to happen. There may be some legal issues with this. For that reason, I don't think it will ever happen. Unfortunately we may have to keep dealing with the annoyance.
snowmon34 said:....could atleast one of the anti rafflers please chime in and tell me why you haven't made any comments on this issue...FYI I have no problems with anybody taking bets, or the raffles.. it just confuses me why there is no concern if we are truely worried about the welfare of AZB.....
RRfireblade said:Even tho I never said I was 'Anti' I will say this much , there is a difference between people woofing it up here and there scattered throught the board . . . and the Forum itself openly hosting and supporting an illegal gambling operation.
IMO.![]()
It's arguable right now if that's the case already.![]()
Last thing I'd add is that just because something like getting busted for 'casual' gambling is not highly likey doesn't mean it can't or won't happen. It has before and will again to less suspecting people who were thinking precisely the same thing right before the doors got kicked in.![]()
snowmon34 said:You may have misunderstood my post....I'm not talking about woofing.....I'm talking about good ole fashion betting GAMBLING...it's alive and well on these boards just look you'll find it....If all were so concerned about the well-being of AZB....why hasn't anybody ever chimed in when somebody solicits a bet, and somebody accepts on this forum....again I'm not against gambling or raffles
