Charlie,

I'm very happy to hear you love the way it plays but I'm very disappointed to hear that you aren't 100% satisfied with it !

The butt should measure 57-3/4" from edge of j-collar to edge of butt plate and the shafts should be exactly 28- 1/4" long... due to capped ivory ferrules I added in to make up the difference on the butt shortness..

Also I DID enclose partial refund of 150.00 gc it's in the white envelope inside the very end of the box on the side w/ the duct tape !

I'm sure I measured the cue correctly because you stressed upon me the criticalness of the cue being a max 58"... if I screwed up I am very sorry becasue I did that with a previous customer due to case length restrictions and didn't include the j-pin length in the measurement !

So once again please check the box at the end with the duct tape and let me know the status !

Very Sincerely, Eddie Wheat

There is no debate about the length, and I'm not going back and forth with you about that. The cue IS 59+'' long. PERIOD. The butt is 29'', the shafts are a little over 30''. Don't twist this thing about how to measure a cue. The total length of the cue is 59+'' not including the tip or bumper.

Eddie, your measurements are about as accurate as how you count the number of points in a cue. The cue you sent has SIX points, not EIGHT. Please, don't dispute that. That's a minor point as far as I'm concerned but I wanted to point that out to you.

The $150 gc, as you call it, is a Gift Certificate, to be used at Wheat Cues. Sorry Eddie, but that means nothing to me. But thanks for the gesture.

Please don't post anything that will require a response from me, now or in the future. At least show me that much respect.

My desire is to make this my last post concerning this matter. I have a business to run and pool to play!

Dammit !
Charlie got MY Free cue by mistake, along with my nut huggin paycheck enclosed.

Doug
(and.....after all the hours I put in)

A gift certificate???? What a freaking joke! That isn't a refund, that's an insult!

re?fund
1. to give back or restore (esp. money); repay.
2. to make repayment to; reimburse.
–verb (used without object)
3. to make repayment.
–noun
4. an act or instance of refunding.
5. an amount refunded.

Eddie, you did not give a refund in any way, shape, or form. In order to give a refund you must give the funds back in the way, or comparable way, to how you received them. I imagine that Charlie paid you in some type of currency that can be used at most places in the United States. What you gave him is something that you know he will never use and does not affect you financially in any way. In order to get his "refund" he would have to deal with you again, which I am pretty sure is never going to happen.

Now that right there is one amazing bit of knowledge.
A "Gift Certificate" redeemable at Wheat Cues.

Eddie, I think Charlie has made it perfectly clear that he will never do business with you again and to send him that calling it a "partial refund" is about the most insulting thing you could have done.
And I bleieve it was planned, intentional act on your part.
A weasel is a weasel and actions speak so much louder than words.
You have proven beyone any doubt you live by the code of screw others before they screw you and believe everyone will swallow your lies and twisted truths.
I for one, was a supporter, and really wanted to think there was some good in you.
I had hoped to see you turn this thing around and go on to become respected for your craftsmanship.
This latest turn of events has removed any and all doubt as to your true nature as a person with little character or moral values.
It matters not how well you make a cue, how cheap you sell it for, or how thick you spread on the BS.
It is over for you Eddie ... No one here has any respect for you.

I am ashamed of myself for being so wrong about someone like you and thinking you would, in the end, do the right thing.
It is just not in your nature and you have, with this one post, stomped out any spark of hope that others here were misjudging you.

This is the last I will ever say about you here on the forum as you have proven to be totally unworthy of any respect or acknowledgment as a cue maker. :(

From now on when I buy a cue, I will offer to pay in Jay Helfert gift certificates. You can come to my house and raid the refrigerator or even pick items out of my garage storage until you have redeemed all it's value.

Now who has a Black Boar for sale? ;)

FTR, this is exactly how I feel. Thank you Willie for putting the way I feel about this entire mess into words.

Actually, this is a great idea. I am gonna have some Crawbucks printed up. So, if I am gambling, I can pay off in my own currency. They are redeemable the next time I play a guy. He can pay me back with them. If he ever doesn't have Crawbucks, though, I will take cash.

That's TOO funny! Mr. Custom cue builder can't even count to eight. OH MAN! ROLMAO

And what's the deal with the Wheat Bucks? Might as well had sent him a box of Shredded Wheat, at least he might have gotten some use out of that.

Jay, Here you go. It will cost you a cheap sum of $350. Please prepare the JH GC. See you at WTBC.
