RIP Chad "Big Nasty" Pollman

I am just crushed by this news. I have counted Chad as a good friend since we first met in 2007 in Olathe at the first TAR match, and looked forward to seeing him and spending a little time each January at Louisville DCC.

Heart of gold. Friendly, outgoing, one of the real gems of the pool world.

I will have Chad`s loved ones in my thoughts and prayers. And to the people whose lives he closely touched like Justin, Beav, Shane, Andy and everyone, I will be thinking of you.

I am very deeply saddened, just stunned, shocked.

Will Prout

Well said, my feelings too, Shame.

RIP Chad

Chad we only met at the Shooters events you did, but since then in numerous other broadcast you did and commentated on we had a banter back and forth in the chat room.

I still smile when I remember that time I got you to say on the air so my wife could hear you, Mark Patrick wins, Mark Patrick wins, prior to our departure to a match.....

You will be missed, your wit and conversation over the internet and in person.

R.I.P.

Is there a fund raiser for Chad?

RIP. really nice guy and has the very first case I have ever made for a customer. I hope some one will be able to enjoy as im sure he did.

Nasty loved him some pool cue cases. I'll never forget the early mornings at Derby sitting with him while nothing was going on and talking about pool cue cases and the different designs we'd get. I LOVED the case that Jay Jensen made for Nasty that he brought to Iowa for the SVB/Frost match. The case actually held a 6 pack of diet coke in the center of it and it was spring loaded so the cans would pop up, lol. The case was so damn big that Jay actually used a regular leather belt as the strap with a HUGE shoulder pad on it. Nasty loved that damn case and so did I. Good memories.

I remember how proud he was of that case. That was fun hanging out in Iowa. Nasty will be deeply missed. I used to get a kick out of how he said Watchez's name. He said it with a different type of dialect or accent. He was a great guy. Sometimes he would text me. He took a lot of pride in TAR. I'm sure we will all meet again sometime up there in that big poolroom in the sky!

.....Yeah diet Coke and cue cases, I think I mite have gave him a case once, or was going to give it to JCIN to give him,:confused:it was a old 3X6 George, I'm not sure how that ended up. I just know I will miss chad and I had'nt called him in a long time, I feel bad about that. I took his number out of my phone today-it was very sad. RIP

What do you say about a man you have never met in person.

I only had the pleasure if talking to Chad online. And listening to him snore at 3am on stream. lol

The TAR family as well as Chad's family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Any man who receives a reaction like I have read on this thread was a GREAT person.

Thanks for all the laughs, man you had a way of just making
pool interesting. This just breaks my heart that your gone.
Hugs to all of your friends and all your loved ones I know that
number is huge.

Just saw this... I'm sorry to hear it. My Condolences to is family, friends and TAR... :(

I spoke to Chad's sister today - Jen - she gave me her address to send a little something to assist with the funeral expenses and a trust is also going to be setup for Chad's 14 year old daughter.

If anyone wants her address, send me a PM. The trust will be setup at a later date -- there may be a fundraiser in the near future and there is talk of a yearly Big Nasty Memorial pool tournament as well.

Chad Pollman Fundraiser Product Donations

I believe a fundraiser will be held after the Fourth of July. Chad had quite a few friends but he leaves behind his only daughter. I know he spoke to me many times about providing college assistance to his daughter. Any product donations would be accepted to be auctioned at his fundraiser. Chad had a fondness for all birdseye maple cues with rings and no points inscribed with "Big Nasty" on the cue butt. I am finishing up one for the fundraiser but if anyone has something in mind to donate they may PM me for shipping instructions. Cues, cases, gift certificate or any billiard product, used or new...anything will be greatly appreciated.

Chad was instrumental in the creation of TAR and continued to guide its path for years afterwards. He was a very knowledgeable pool man who knew the players and how to work with them. Justin and Mark have lost a good partner. You will be missed Chad!
