RIP Chad "Big Nasty" Pollman

well this sucks. I've talked to Chad on a few occasions (in Des Moines, and a couple DCCs), and always looked forward to running into him again!! :sorry: :sorry: RIP Big Chad

I didn't know Chad personally, but I did have the chance to play him in a South Dakota State 8 Ball Singles tournament many years ago. I knew he and Shane were close so I was very nervous to play him. He beat me and was very gracious about it (even encouraging me to come back when I was down), he was a great player. RIP Chad.

I met Big Nasty in the TAR bar in Vegas about 4 years ago. Very nice and helpful guy. Just sad to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

My sincere condolences and prayers for strength to all his family and friends. May his legacy live on through the lives of those he touched, and the wind forevermore be at his back... RIP Chad.

I didn't know Chad personally, but it is a sad day when ever a family member of our AZB forum passes, my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Big Nasty, you were one of a kind, did not know you well but it was nice to have met you and also have talked to you a bit over the years. One thing is for sure you always kept it true and when you spoke people would listen because of that, not too mention you were funny as hell too. It was nice to know you bud.

TARs skycam is fully operational.....NEVER FORGOTTEN

What a shock. Heard nothing but good things of him, and as someone before me said, that is a rarity in the pool community. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and TarNation friends.

Well said Beav, This is truly sad news to me. I was lucky enough for many of the fledgling TAR matches to be here in Kansas City and spending time talking about pool and action with Chad and Justin will always be special memories for me.

He was a mountain of a man and his heart was equally as large, rest in peace my friend and God bless your honest soul.

Justin, of course, spoke with great fondness about his close friend The Big Nasty.

I recall one story Justin told, must have been on a Tar broadcast, where he said they were staying in a hotel, I forget where, and the place caught on fire and it was so funny how he portrayed Chad's take on all of it.

Apparently the hotel's fire alarm was going and, basically, it came down to Nasty saying f-it, there's $30k worth of equipment in this room, I ain't going anywhere. The way Justin relayed this story was priceless, belly laughing the whole way through.

Sorry to have not had the chance to meet Big Nasty but through stories like the ones contained in this thread, I feel like I have a handle on what a good hearted man he was. And a funny son of a gun! :grin-square:

My sincere condolences to his family and many good friends.

best,
brian kc

I think I'll go to Side Pockets in KC and order up a huge tenderloin sandwich.

And don't you dare threaten me with fruit.

Freddie <~~~ thanks Nasty

Very bad news today, only saw/talked to Chad at the Derbys, went in on a few bets with him, he was always nice to me and easy to talked to. RIP, he is in a better place.

This is definitely sad news. Nasty was one of the people on AZ that I would have liked to have met in person. R.I.P.
