selecting a new cue

Hello everyone.
I have been playing pool for almost 50 years (ok i'm an old guy LOL)
I have had many cues but now i need a new one and i'm stuck at around $350.00 thats it. I have narrowed it down to a Buska replica or a Joss JSM-70. I was able to hit a Joss at a local dealer and it felt just fine. I have yet to find a Buska replica to hit. These 2 cues have the eye appeal for me.But i don't know about the quality of them.
Any opinions or real world experiance with either one would be welcome.
Thanks

there is a helmsteer on az for $175 its probably twice the cue and half the price,i suggest you look at it,if helmstter himself made the cue it will be a real winner

I had a buska replica I got off ebay about 6 years ago. I was pretty disapointed with it. Both shafts were really badly warped and I had to use shafts from another cue to play with it. It looked nice but thats as far as I would go.

With $350 or so, I would look at the used market. I think the $400-$600 range is full of bargins.

There was a nice RH cue that sold for $500 or thereabouts. That is as good as it gets. Secondly, if you buy used and a good deal and arent happy or want to move up, should be able to get most of your money back at least.

Buying a new production cue, plan on taking a hit later.

Great advise...Post a wtb -350 message in the For sale section, you should get 20 offers in one day.

I am not a collector or a flipper. I just want a solid cue to play with and these are the two that i like. Buying used is not an option unless i can see it in person. From reading the posts here i can tell you guys are into high end cues and thats great. So i figured that there would be a lot of knowledge here that could advise me as to the quality of The Adam Buska and Joss. Thats all i am asking for. Also i do not care about taking a hit later if i resell it.

You amaze me. Here is a opportunity to sell him one of your Deano cues. The price range is right and it is better than any of that junk he is thinking about.

Depends on the urgency of your quest. I've bought at least six 'players' type cues here in the $175 - $400 range. The one I shoot with mainly, is a $250 sneaky that I bought here:thumbup: There's a cue to fit your expectations here, as long as you have the time frame. Look at a persons iTrader score, that's there to help make a decision on buying from somebody here. iTrader sticky There's some outstanding deals here, new or used:thumbup: I didn't start to use this site until I had bought a couple of cues after starting to play again. Probably would've saved me some money in the long run, if I had.

If I had to choose between the two I would have to go with the joss. It's a good quality production cue.

I am sorry measureman, I did not try to offend, but as a brother pool player I was giving you my honest opinion as I would my best friend.

Given the choice between those 2 I would take the Joss.

I am a flipper and a collector, but I have made more money on cheap Meucci cues than ANY other cue. Why? Because I always could flip them very fast. My point? I have bought and sold cues from $50-$5000 and I thought I would try to help as best I could, (and I wasnt trying to make a dime from it). From experience, for most, cues are like cars we love em, we use, then we trade them in. My only fault was trying to see when you wanted to "trade or sell" it later you would be in the best position. Again, I appoligize.

I wish you the best my friend,

Ken

I'd get the joss between the two...

of course with 350 to spend I'd find out what else is out there...

i think it'd be better to just get the joss. if you ever want to sell it it'll be easier to sell than a bushka replica

Doug thanks for the silmple reply. I took a look at your site. Very nice cues. Probably well out of my price range but if i win the powerball lottery i will keep you in mind.
