TAR Podcast Aug. 30 With Al Lawrence of South West Cues. Questions ?

JCIN -- I wasn't able to watch Podcast 27 live tonight (started about 5 hours ago), so I just went to your website to see if it might be available yet for replay. It wasn't there, but I noticed that the Podcasts that are there stop with #23. Have you stopped making them available for later viewing?

Tar atepping out with a New Venue(cuemaker commentators

Thanks again to Tar and the crew for giving us insights, to the cuemakers not just micing up the player which is sweet. I persoanlly can't believe- some of the crap posted- trashing SW. Some of you guys just say anything . You keep hiding behind those computers If sw is over priced(your words not mine) Why are you saying Richard Black(prices) are outragious then ,Gina's Prices) are out ragious, Stroud (prices)are outragious, Benders prices are out ragious. I just have to blame the sw questions you guys wanted -are just gossip- and most of you guys are too damn cheap to take a chance on buying proven cues!. Its like which truck, car is the best- and most of ya never go beyond the city limits in your life time. Sorry Jcin for being a bit negitive, but I see it as a very (great think bringing Al ,on!! Call laurie she's always been the wood specialist at SW- she answers the phone always- I do travel to many cuemakers just to see what makes them tick - so I know know many persoanlly, and find out the real stories behind there cues. The who what when and why. Sometimes you guys just take the piss out of me.--mark- ps To me my Pets are like children- I lost a Persian cat on a trip up North. I offered 500. reward put up a 1000. flyers, talked with hundreds of people traveling and bussiness owners, used radio ,and newspaper adds. I bought night vision,a new tazer, and a 357,a live trap.. walked the woods ,and trails night and day, came across possums, skunk, raccoons ,crows ,turtles, 100 ferrel cats, foxes.coyotes, wolves, wild dogs etc. anyone interested I bought cigs, meals ,soda'sand gave gas money. I even came up with a new name that all the people fit under (Canadians) (covers all Nationalities)with out reprizal. Never met somany drunks on the road ways, and just plain idots in my life. Yes I am a bad parent I lost my daughter Sophie- a dolly faced Persian. Out of guilt or whatever I spent over 3 thousand dollars !!!!!! and I will never stop thinking of how to get her back - We have another Cat- Margret, aka maggie May. We usually use queens names. spelling errors,l errors and errors- TS I took 8 wks of my life looking (we had flooding and 100 degree weather too!

YouTube was being a bit of a b!tch tonight and I had to upload the podcast three times before it worked. It seems one of the US Bar Table videos was flagged for having copywritten content in it and that flipped a switch which no longer enabled my account to upload videos over fifteen minutes long. The copy written content was a song playing in the background over the hotel's internal speaker system that was picked up in the table mic.

Naturally I didnt find this out until the entire ninety minute file had uploaded. So I delete the offending match, reupload the podcast and after the entire file uploads it gets flagged for incompatible file type. It is the same exact specs as every other one of our videos on YouTube. So I just upload the exact same file again and its all good.

People wonder why I'm an asshole.

All the trouble was worth it though because it is a great podcast with a tremendous amount of info about South West cues and some cool stories as well. I want to thank Al for joining me tonight and sharing his knowledge and stories with all of us. You can watch it free on our homepage or here on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cTgBkZi39E&feature=youtu.be

Thanks for the podcast, it was great, I watched the whole thing. I don't think he dodged any questions, he seems like a good guy and likes what he is doing. It makes
me want to go out and buy a Southwest....Thanks again. Tom

We had the same problem streaming some pool at Fargo Billiards on our ipads, couldn't save it to You Tube for the same reason. Crazy. It is background music.

Thanks for posting your pod cast and for doing that interview. Great stuff. I really enjoyed the whole thing.

Good shooting to you,

Kevin

Was anything said about up coming matches on TAR? I didn't watch last night. Johnnyt

The whole thing was talking to Al about South West.

Working on something for before the Open. Scheduling is an issue as its a busy time of year. Soon as something is set I'll get it out.

Hey Justin, thanks for the podcast. There still are some of us that haven't reached the
level of knowledge about the sport that quite a few people on this forum have.
This discussion opened an entirely new aspect. I will admit that I have never seen a SW
in person and really appreciated the chance to see them on the broadcast.

The recent podcasts have been great and I look forward to each one.

thanks for asking my question....
al confirmed that jerry worked on the finish and the wrap...
as for the compound taper, i am now even more confused.

That was some great stuff! I guess it shows how much we are addicted to the game when I found the interview and facts about Southwest cues more profound than say, landing on the moon. You asked all the questions that have been on our minds for about 25 years. I think a similar podcast with Barry Szamboti would be great also.
Thanks Al for opening up and letting us see the inside story on Southwest cues. Thank you Justin for all you have done for the game. TAR has positively made an impact on this game we love!

He sure didn't get into detail about that. :D
Look at Al's cue when he laid it on the table.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much

I just want to say thanks to Justin and Al, as well as all at TAR and SW that made this happen. The interview was outstanding and very informative. I love the SW hit and feel, plus I find the wood combinations most interesting. After a long time away from the game, my interest reactivated last year and I became interested in SW last spring. I am too old to wait 10 years, so I have purchased 15 on the secondary market and am always looking.

I appreciate Al taking the time and Justin for producing and executing a very fine interview and documentary on SW.
sincerely,
Phil
