The way it really went down

Actually, your post 199 is an excellent lesson for all concerned who want to play experienced gamblers. The more you play, the more you realize that there are many ways to gain an edge....

And let's not forget no matter how experienced or deep the pockets, there's always a paddle to fit every backside.

I keep seeing this picture of the Viffer or the Dipper or the Dumpster or whatever he's called today, running down the street with a burning cue in his hands. The flames are all over him and he still won't let go of that cue. Now that's a dedicated pool player. :help:

If I ever get convicted of something and went to trial I wouldnt want anyone on this thread to be on the jury. Guilty without facts.

That is funny....

Since this is going to be a historic thread on AzBilliards, I must include my all-time favorite pool picture, which happens to include Marcus. :grin-square:

Say "cheese," fellows!

That pic has Scott with 50's, then another guy with 100's and then marcus with ONE'S!!!!!

lol....

Jaden

Other than that I have nothing to say as I don't know any of the parties well enough to comment.

Hi Junior:

There has been a whole lot of circumstantial evidence corroborated by Jay Helfert's statement that he listened in as Dippy admitted to Billy on the phone that he did, in fact, stiff Scott.

There's a lot to sift through on this thread; you may have missed that.

Best,

There must be a lot of work in Vegas for Samoan debt collectors.

I'm still trying to put an image to the Samoan - does anybody know if he looked like this?

Chicken you really don't know anything. You really ought to tone it down. this is serious business and you have nothing at stake in the slightest.

No I read that. But Jay wasnt the one listening to what Dippy was saying. He was only standing next to Billy during the conversation. I'm not saying Jay cant read between the lines but it is still just hearsay isnt it?

Can someone please give me the short version of this? Maybe quote some of the highlights or link to the exact post.

Thanks in advance.

I absolutely want to play. Tell us your real name so we can match up evenly. I will be at the Derby City Classic in January and we can play there - ship $1000 show up money to Fast and Loose - Marcus - and I will do the same.

Whoever doesn't play loses the show up money.

I will bet up to ten games with you if we can work out a fair spot. I guess you can't take a ****ing joke but I will HAPPY to take your money.

Also, let's not hijack this thread. PM me if you want to really do this. Last time I tried to make a public game on here it was a disaster. Not to mention that it's pretty nitty of both of us to be making a game for 500 a game in a thread talking about a 60k set.

Just stand up play like man, if you lose a couple of sets then make an adjustment, man people just have no gamble these day's!!!:)

What if I had the speaker option on when I had the conversation with Dippie, and Jay heard the conversation in it's entirety ? Would that also be hearsay? Also what is it that you feel about Jay that you would question his statement. Jay is a witness, and a good one, is there a problem with that?

Maybe you missed the post where Scott and I were with Dippie and I asked him where and what time he paid Scott, and he replied At the Aria Casino between 3:00 pm and 3:330 pm. Unfortunately for Dippie I was with Scott from 2:00 pm untill 7:00 pm. Does that shed some light on the matter?

Now that you know a little more about the situation, and you had to bet body parts on if Dippie paid or not, what would you do? :confused:Be careful there maybe more than $50,000 at stake if you make the wrong choice and pick the wrong side.

Doesn't this get old for you?

I remember you, we had differences about a year ago on another thread. I believe it was about Keith McCreedy and you had something negative to say back then. You seem to enjoy twisting things to suit what you want people to hear, even if it is at the expense of others.
Above you said that I said ” ANYTIME THAT A PLAYER CAN GET AN EDGE HE DOES “ Well you misquoted me once again, if you look at the original post #199 I said “ PLAYERS WILL TAKE AN EDGE IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY” Now does that sound like ANYTIME that a player can get an edge he does?? That one word ANYTIME that you decided to throw in there:confused: changed the meaning of the statement. And then at the end of your misleading post you said that my reference to that was the same as saying IF YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH CHEATING YOU DO IT. Once again you changed the message to suit your self for what ever reason. I would never condone cheating as you said I did, and everything is in front of you to reread in post # 199. The message clearly explains how to protect yourself from being cheated.

I believe you owe me an apology

Well, Mr. Incardona, I don't have any stake here at all and you can completely ignore me if you wish, but I definitely took your post #199 as if you were condoning cheating as well. What else could you mean by it? Bad racking, moving a ball, peeking at cards - ALL cheating right? Not an "edge" but cheating.

But you seem to be saying that if the opponent doesn't put a stop to it it's OK. That if it isn't called it's not cheating. Am I misreading this or not?

Isn't it still cheating even if the opponent doesn't mention it until the match is over and then stiffs the winner to prove his point? It's still cheating right? And once you've cheated you forfeit all expectations of getting a reward for it - IMO.

Yes, and even as respected as Jay is, it would be inadmissible in court.

This is nowhere as simple as believing either side. It needs to be independently and throughly investigated by professionals before all the facts are revealed and any conclusions are drawn.

This thread is for entertainment purposes only (and maybe for promoting some more action). :)

I'm still trying to put an image to the Samoan - does anybody know if he looked like this?

That guy looks like a miniature version of a Samoan bouncer I had a "run in" with once in Hawaii. I was returning from Viet Nam on my first tour. A group of my buddies and I started out for the day sight seeing. We decided to split up and meet back at the nicest night club at the International Marketplace in Waikiki at 9PM. When we arrived we started up the ramp to the front door where a HUGE Samoan bouncer stopped us. This guy was so big when he stood up he blocked out the sun! He told us they had a dress code, we couldn't enter because my buddy was wearing blue jeans. I was wearing dress slacks and told my buddy to wait there while I went in and got our friends to go elsewhere where we could all go. I guess the Samoan didn't want me to take customers out of the bar and he told me NO, you can't go in either! I tried to reason with the guy to no avail. Back then I was a little guy, 5'11", 160lbs. I thought, Well, I can't whip this guy, for sure, but if I could just dart around him into the place and yell for my buddies, they'd at least see me and we could leave without causing any trouble, really. I was pretty quick back then but this Samoan moved like a leopard! He grabbed the back of my shirt and my belt and with one motion he threw me over his head, at least 15 feet in the air and I landed on top of some poor guys car, caving in the roof pretty good. I picked myself up and decided to move on to the next bar. When we walked into the next bar, there seated at a table were my buddies some of whom were also wearing blue jeans and couldn't get in the fancy place! I made them buy my drinks for the rest of the night for not giving us fair warning! lol
