You know there is a screenplay in here somewhere.

"The Dippy Situation ".......Based on a True Thread

Robert Deniro as Billy Incardona

Collin Farrell as Scott Frost

Ben Stiller as Dippy Dave

Kimbo Slice as Lil' Kimbo the Samoan

And introducing Big Nasty as the 2004 Black Tahoe

I am pretty sure it would do Avatar numbers.

Leonardo DiCaprio can be the guy from Norway posting stuff on internet while sick in bed (He has played a retard before)

Nathan, don't forget about the chop-chop. SF might have beaten DD out of 100 large, but after the chop-chop, consisting of maybe four of five entities, how much do you think SF really pocketed?

Not so long ago, my other half was offered an 80/20 split by a stakehorse to compete in a challenge match, with the player getting 20 and the stakehorse getting 80. Nice deal, huh?! :(

80/20 can be a good deal if playing 10k a set, after all it's a can't lose situation for the player while the backer gives odds on his money.

I would play a 10k match with me getting 2k if I win, and no need to pay if I lose.

Interesting topic that I'd like to discuss. I don't want to hijack this thread (hah, as if that's possible, look how many people have tried, lol) so I will start a new thread about this. I'll PM you guys so you can chime in. :grin-square:

Can I be an extra? Just the guy in the corner of the pool room eating chicken wings. I have experience.

JCIN is bustin it out today. Keep it rollin man. A talent scout could be readin and who knows.

Is that why it never happened?

Roy, I still don't think many players would enjoy an 80/20 split. I realize the stakehorse of putting up all the cheese and stands the biggest risk of losing, but the player is the one performing -- you know, "Dance, Monkey, Dance" -- sometimes all night long or a couple days to win that cheese. After expenses, the player, even if he wins and pockets 20 percent, might only break even. That is all I am saying.

Of course, if I played good enough for somebody to offer me a free shot at 20 percent, I'd jump in a heartbeat. Players who know how hard it is to win, don't think a 20-percent slice is very filling. In fact, some find it insulting.
Are you saying his backer only offer Keith 20 percent to come play Billy?
Wondering who that was?

I will take great pleasure in telling this entire story sine die; in fact, this thread had motivated me to do so in more ways than one. :D

The higher they go, the harder they will fall, as they say.

Oh, it wasn't Keith's backer, BTW.

Oh, I'm sure I'm going to get slammed for posting this reply to you, but here I am. :)

Posting sure beats what I'm working on, electrophysiology, ventricular fibrillation, and the quivering heart.:boring2:

Meanwhile, the forum hasn't enjoyed this surge of members posting in masses since the U.S. Open and DCC.

JAM - I wasn't slamming you. Wasn't my intention. Just giving myself an excuse for not jumping in sooner.

I want to ask a serious question (without slowing-down the plethora of hilarious sh*t being posted here). It concerns posting. Not being much of a gambler, how do two people in a 100K pool match (50K each) post that kind of money? I understand the third party holding for them and all, but do people actually walk around a poolhall with hundreds of thousands of dollars in their pockets??? After what happened to Mike Surber (and others for far less $$$), I would think this kind of bravado could get someone seriously hurt or killed. Being a super small-time gambler and a rare one to boot, I wish that some of you high-rollers would fill me in on how this big action stuff goes down. Thanks in advance.

I would ship you $20 paypal if you were to post the individual post count every now and again.

I'm making a new thread in the Action Room so as to not derail this one or allow the thought to go unnoticed. Apparently people do not understand backing (not saying JAM). Please see post in the Action Room and feel free to contribute.

I'll even add a poll to try to get more interest.
