Alive or dead, active or retired, for skill or longevity...looks, whatever.

To this day, know knowing about Jean Balukas then, and Jasmin Ouschan now, it is still Allison Fisher. I think she was the first professional I ever saw on television, or even heard of before I decided to commit to playing seriously. At least at that time she was feared as much as she was respected.

I'm not sure where her game is now, but I've heard (dunno if it's true, though) out of any singular professional team or athlete, she has held a Number One title the longest.

If you haven't seen this video, well, it sums it up.

I myself do respect Jean Balukas as a player with 16 consecutive wins (which hasnt been beaten yet) and as a person for standing up for what she thought was right in her decision to leave the Women's Tour. The sport lost a great participant, but she did what she felt she had to do.

Yeah, I've heard of this too. Also, at least around my circle of knowledge, she's always referenced as, "she plays like a man." LOL, kind of a misogynistic thing to say perhaps, but it's my understanding that she plays or played jam the f@%# up.

It's a tough choice, but I will go with Jeanette Lee. I watched her play years ago with an abundance of grace where not only did she know the ball was going in, but you would too. I honestly haven't seen it in any player since. The closest to it would be when I saw a very young Troy Frank win the McDermott Tour Tournament in Mentor, Ohio about 15 years ago.

Jean Balukas or Jeanette Lee.

i'd have to second jeanette lee. she may not finish as high up in the tournaments like she used to but with a 150 point straight pool run she's got talent worth recognizing.

i really wish they'd let women compete in the same tournaments as men. i know it wouldn't turn out good for the first couple of years. but as soon as 1 woman finished high enough the flood gates would open for really great female players.

I have to reluctantly go with Jean Balukas because of being the ice breaker and for getting out based on here principles. I say reluctantly because I would llike to vote for Allison. She does everything with class.. imo.

Ewa Mataya. To marry a man like Jimmy Mataya is reflective of the fact that she's a diehard pool person, and she must be fun to be around for Jimmy to have fallen for her.

I don't know much about her husband today, but she's got him in the pool world. He used to be an actor. He seems like a nice guy. I've met him a few times.

Also, nobody can dispute the fact that she is so beautiful, INSIDE and OUTSIDE. This fact right here makes her stand out above all the rest.

Don't believe me? Check out her website: http://www.strikingviking.com

They don't call her The Striking Viking for nothing.

Plus, she and I have the same birthday! Pisces women rock! :D

I would probably say Jasmin. She's one one women player who plays the game pretty close to how I would want to play it. She has a beautiful long, powerful stroke, hit's the balls with authority, and crushes the balls on the break.

She kind of reminds me of Earl. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the visual treat of watching her play as well. :)

Its no contest. My Wife.

I'm gone almost every single weekend to shoot pool. In January and February i'm going to be gone 22 nights. She supports me a 110% in my pool adventures.

I suppose it helps that I support her 110% in her Quilting adventures!

Since the question is about respect, it's got to be Lori Jon, hands down. Still on record as the youngest champion, she managed to have a very successful career and meet her family obligations. And let's face it, pool isn't generally a culture that encourages someone to maintain their christian values. She has done that as well.

Allison. She has dominated more thouroughly than anyone, ever. Her level is responsible for improving the level of all those around her. Others have had to find a way to up their play; and Allison is the benchmark the others have to set their sights on. Womens pool is better because of this.

Jasmin for sure. She is gorgeous without all the frills and comes to the table to play and kick ass not to put on a show. A true "PLAYER". Next would be Jeanette Lee. Same as above but with the Frills

I dont know any of them but after seeing some of there pictures i
would say ,ALL OF THEM .They look like a bunch of PRETTY good shooters.

This one is easy. Allison for sure. She redefined women's professional play forever.

Lorie John Jones and Jeannette Lee for their support of the game and dedicated families.

This one is easy for me!

Melinda Bailey! (akatrigger)

Not only does she do my website, but she absolutely devotes herself to pool.

She, along with a few other very special ladies, completely run the OBCues Ladies 9 Ball Tour.

She has donated her time and money for good causes to help not only pool, but other people in need too.

She is a Meteorologist for the National Weather Service, so she really helps everybody!

And best of all, she is the best Scotch Doubles partner, period!

Thanks and Merry Christmas to Melinda!
