Where Have All The Kamui Chalk Warrior's Gone?

1. I don't mind chalking my tip, it's such a part of my PSR that I don't even realize I'm doing it, so "you only have to chalk your cue once every X shots" does not apply to me.
2. I only miscue about once or twice a year and it's due to a bad stroke not the chalk. So "I never miscue with Kamui chalk" does not apply to me.
3. I can put the cue ball exactly where I want to when I'm playing really well, so "better" chalk won't make a difference to me.
4. Kamui chalk marks the cue ball more and the marks stay on the cue ball longer thereby increasing the possibility of missing a ball due to skid.
5. I've played with Kamui chalk and didn't notice a tiny bit of difference.

Sorry, I just don't understand. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

still use mine and masters every once and awhile, $30 really is not that much for the game we love. Goes on like butter and adheres to the tip for longer, actually helps masters hold better after also in my experiences. I'm using 1.21 but next ill prolly go with .98:wink:

I've had a cube about a year. Just the last couple of months started using it exclusively. I like it no complaints. Will I pay $30 for another cube, the jury is still out, I'm going to play with it a little while longer. I don't really see this , "it grips the cue ball more" claim that some people have said. I do enjoy not chalking as often. Just have not decided if I like it $30 worth.

What do the "Pro's" Use...??? What ever the sponsor put's on the table.

It's not the arrow...it's the archer.

You can be sure- there are enough pros, who would be using Kamui Chalk also, even if they wouldn t get paid. Just because they like it.

i personally also know that several good chalks do their work , too. But i still prefer the Kamui chalk. Since the last year i know about 15 players, who re still loving the Kamui Chalk-and still using it.

ah, but the straighter the arrow...

I have been thru a few Triangle, Master, Blue Diamond, Predator but not tried Kamui - In those I've tried, can't see a huge difference but would like to try Kamui.

If a tip lasts for a given amount of time and we spend $30+ for it, what ratio is right?

I'm still using it. I've went through 2 cubes since May. I'm on my 3rd cube now. When they get low, I get a new one. $30 isn't killing me.

First of all, the pros use whatever they want. I just had Thorsten Hohman's chalk in my hand. It was in a nice metal case with his name or "Hitman" or something on it. Inside was Kamui chalk. I see many many pros with their own chalk.

Also, I always laugh when people use the arrow/archer example. Yes, the archer is most important, obviously. But what if you have two equally skilled archers, and one has a modern super expensive compound bow, and the other has some 200 year old wooden piece of crap. Who's more accurate? Sometimes "common" sense is anything but common.

A guy i shoot with and gamble with uses kamui. I like blue diamond more than masters so i shoot with it. But in all honesty masters works just fine. All i know is he backs me against players he wont play, and he miscues more than me. Chalk might make a miniscule difference, but its never going to make or break you.

Barry Interesting.

The (blue Master's) marks all over my ball bother me and I would think that a chalk that would require lower application frequesncy would leave less residue.

Well, shid. I am wrong again.

Technically, if applied as described, you'd be correct. I don't believe Kamui chalk gives you any better grip. If it does, it is so miniscule that it doesn't matter. I like it because it is so much easier to apply evenly. It sticks to the tip much better IMHO, even when the surface of the tip gets glassy. For that matter, the Kamui sticks nicely to the ceramic/phenolic break tips.

I chalk my tip with Kamui with the same frequency as I do with any other chalk. I know that's over using it but I don't care. I've been using the same cube for when I play (not practice) for 4 or 5 months and it's only 1/3 used. That's the reason for my comment about marking the CB. Master, Blue Diamond or Predator seems to leave a small subtle mark. The Kamui can leave the CB looking like a measles ball.

Look, I don't think there's any substantial difference or that Kamui is a game changer. That's absurd. I happen to prefer it and when I figure it is at most a $60 per year investment versus a $5 investment, it simply doesn't matter.

I figured it out. Pangit actually works for Kamui and started this account with the master plan to act like a douche as often as possible then act like a douche in an anti-Kamui chalk thread, bringing the community against him and for the chalk and he buys a bunch of Kamui shares right before he starts the thread. Well played sir. Well played.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Luxury again.

Brilliant!

maybe they're now focused on positional play and table geometry, as they already have the "right" equipment (chalk included). :)

You haven't heard anything on it because it isn't new anymore.

It is soo bad, I can barely keep it in stock :(

I am on my third cube since it was released and don't see myself changing unless it is pulled from the market.

I should mention that although it I my third cube,
I have given away the less than half remaining cubes to players to try.

They have inevitably came back to see me to buy their own cube.

Breaks and Jumps

I don't use it on my playing cue...but...I do use it on my break cue as well as my jump cue...might be me but I have more confidence with it when I am hammering a break or jump shot.

do you use a cuetec ? some of the pros shoot with one.

no need to buy a higher priced cue either is there ?

how about a case? 25.00 no name case does the job dont it ?

I have heard nothing but positives from the people I know who actually bought it and tried the chalk.

I have not tried it yet.

A year ago...it was the hottest topic on AZB?

Have you "wised-up" and stopped paying 30 bucks a chunk for the label on the chalk?

Probably a lot of the people who use it don't have to prove it to anyone anymore. If you don't want to try it and see if it works better than so be it.

Me too, improved my jump. Masters or Blue Diamond can't touch Kamui for that purpose.

Kamui Chalk is the best.

Kamui chalk I think is the best chalk. I chalk up every shot, I got a stocking stuffed with 3 Kamui chalks. I think it's the best. If and when I need more I will pay the price for it. Ziggy
