I have read 100's of pages dealing with this whole fiasco... and tried to get all the facts before commenting. but the latest post saying that Bills eyesight was failing isnt an excuse for anything,
My eyes have gone downhill over the past year, and I have a hard time doing the things i used to (such as electronics repair, some home remod. and especially shooting pool like i used to.) now its already been said that anyone whose eyes are failing like is claimed, would not even consider competitive pool,
I mean I am a mid B player and with my eyes would never consider it. so I call BS to BS on that one. I was wondering from the start why he would sell his equipment, soon after a winner was crowned. if he ever was considering building anything.
I think he probably started to build the cue then found a buyer for his equipment and thats it... and with all the post talking $hit. (rightfully so) about his integrity. has decided to say F U to the whole subject.
Its a shame that an Icon in this industry has gone out on such a sour note. when all it would have took was a simple explaination. Foolish JMO

I'd like to see how many cuemakers believe that spending time designing a cue for someone holds no monetary value. Their time spend planning out a cue's design= nothing. I gotcha
Not only that...
It also serves as a warning to anyone else who may think of doing something similar, that if they do they can expect to be rightly dragged through the mud for a long time to come.

Even more absurd is the idea that Bill doesn't care about these threads.
His eyesight is bad? What a CROCK!! He's been playing some lights out one pocket in AZ over the past 6 months and some other tournaments on the west the coast. If his eyesight is going bad, I hope mine goes bad so I can play better!

When I see Bill today...I'm going to tell him he was right to ignore this whole AZBillards forum. I made a mistake thinking people might try to be reasonable. I'll tell him to just enjoy his retirement and let these poor pathetic people worry about their hidden cyberbullying lives.

I'd rather not cut the lawn or shovel snow. A person can't be that busy to not be able to spend an hour here and there in the shop.

People here would be rather reasonable, if Bill Stroud would simply post here and say why he isnt going to make the cue, or at least pm the winner and say so to him.
THAT would be reasonable. It's not asking much. Then this would all stop. Though it most likely will live on as a legendary air barrel.
