WPBA why top players were gay?

Let me start by saying that this is not a homophobic thread.
I was thinking about it last night after reading another thread in NPR about Homosexuals.
Why do you think the top women players were gay for the past 10 years?
It was #1 and #2 in the world were and there were quite a few right behind them. Do gay women play better? Or that is just the way it was during that time span. Nowadays we have some new players coming up and playing great so why just the past 10 yeas. Just curious what others think why this occurred.
This thread is not meant to be offensive but rather thought provoking.

As a pro player and a female...I have to say that I don't feel this thread belongs here. It doesn't matter whether a player is black or white or green or purple....what their sexual preference is....what nationality or political party they are.

The top players get to the top through hard work and talent. Don't take that away from them by suggesting that their sexual orientation might have anything to do with it.

End of story.

Wrong Forum

The same reason anybody else is gay. Because they hate families. And Jesus. And America.

I think you found your way onto the wrong forum.
There are plenty of hatemonger websites out there, for you religious zealot weirdo's.

Look up a guy named Fred Phelps, his little road show is more your speed.
I expect to see you on the news carrying one of those stupid signs.

never heard of a lesbian until recently

As a lesbian, I am greatly offended by this thread.

All my life I've thought I was a cowboy. Then I approached this good looking woman in a local bar recently. She told me she was lesbian. I told her I didn't care about her politics, I just wanted to have some fun tonight.

She could tell I didn't quite know what a lesbian was so she pointed over to the little barmaid in her short shorts and with a lot hanging out of her top. "See her, I'd like to spend all night making mad passionate love to her!"

Made two of us, turned out I'd been a lesbian all my life and didn't even know it.

i think in some small part many dykes feel more at home in the mostly masculine atmosphere of your average pool room. i know for a fact several local gals feel this way. we have one local butch that i see on a pretty regular basis we have a lot of fun drinking and hitting on each other like shes suddenly gonna turn straight! people that know her get freaked out by us but its all in good fun.

He's just a troll, trying to get everyone flustered.

At least that's the only excuse I can come up with, although I'm constantly suprised at what some people can force themselves to believe.

If the truth be told.
From www:
"Every living person has nipples, when we are in the womb of our mothers, the chromosomes from your mother and father decide if your male or female, but all babies start out female until the chromosomes give you the characteristics of a male or female. "

So you and I might be lesbians trapped in a male body.

I don't care for a couple of your word choices, and I'm a straight man. I can't even imagine what a gay woman would think reading words like "dyke" and "butch" used like that. If you're going to stick around here (I noticed this is only your 12th post) I suggest you choose your words more carefully next time please.

This thread has been hijacked. My initial question really didn't have to do with sex so much a why the best players were gay.
Not sure if what i am trying to say is coming through.
I don't care what their sexual orientation is.They play the great but why are they playing better then so called "normal" women? Could it be less distraction from having a boyfriend, husband kids? Are they able to focus beter becaus of that?

Ok....I think yes. Doesn't matter if they are gay or celibate,as long as they don't have to deal with the ball and chain thing they can concentrate on the game more/better.

and yet, you reposted the entire comment and didnt replace the offensive terms...

i think in some small part many alternative lifestyle females feel more at home in the mostly masculine atmosphere of your average pool room. i know for a fact several local alternative lifestyle females feel this way. we have one local alternative lifestyle female that i see on a pretty regular basis we have a lot of fun drinking and hitting on each other like shes suddenly gonna turn straight! people that know her get freaked out by us but its all in good fun.

I answered this. It has nothing to do with orientation...and everything to do with practice and work ethic.

There are plenty of non-lesbian winners, and plenty of lesbian girls who play nowhere near top pro speed.

I maintain that you are insulting these women by inferring that their is a correlation between their sexual orientation and their skill level. I'll tell you what...take a look at the current top 10. 7 of them are brunettes. According to your logic...this cannot be a coincidence...being brunette must be an advantage somehow.

And PS...being in a relationship is being in a relationship...it has it's ups and downs whether it is boy/girl, girl/girl, boy/boy. And plenty of gay couples have children.

Please stop trying to create a correlation where there isn't one.
