Anyone else get stiffed by InsidePool Magazine?

Wow, serisouly, just call them or stop by their booth at any event. I've been at the booth before when someone says they never got their subscriptions and they immediately fix it, no questions asked. They usually hire someone to man the booth during the events and, let's face it, that job gets boring sitting there all day long. I'm sure it's just a mix up and they are always happy to fix anything like that.

I know JR & Sally, I work with InsidePool and am happy to associate myself with them. Unlike many people in the industry, they are not short-sighted about anything and aren't always needing to be PAID for everything they do. They truely love pool and care about the future of the sport.

Most magazines (and I suspect InsidePool is the same) do not make their money on their subscriptions but rather on their ad sales. So I can promise that they are not trying to "doop" you out of your money. They donate lots of free issues to many of the regional tours and associations all the time. Not EVERYTHING on this forum has to be made into a scandal.

Well said...

JR and Sally are great people and they are not going to rip you off. Tournaments get very hectic and they may have misplaced your order. Call them at 888-428-7665
I subscribed at SBE because inside pool magazine are sponsoring:thumbup: the streaming of some great matches that I watched for free
thanks you have a good magazine!

I moved to NYC about five years ago and came to know some of the folks at NYC Grind. They were hired by JR a couple of years ago to go do the video shooting at the US Open. They hired a crew, purchased and rented equipment and went and spent ten days at the Open, working their butts off.

To make a long story short, JR never paid them for their work. It nearly busted them. And this was after JR had been bailed out of the insidepool website where he was taking orders and money from customers and never shipping the product.

You want to do business with folks like that? Go ahead. But you are warned.

I paid for a three year subscription and only got two years sent to me. I called Inside Pool and they promised to fix the mix up. I never heard from them again and never got another magazine.

I did get lots of mailings reminding me that my subscription was about to end, but by that time, it had been 8 or 9 months since my last magazine.

They'll never get my business again.

The STIFF FIXER....

When I was at Valley Forge in March I signed up and paid for a subscription for InsidePool Magazine at their booth. Have never heard from them and they don't reply to their emails. Anyone else sign up and get anything?

Cyrex & the rest of the posters who feel like they have not gotten what they ordered from Inside Pool Magazine.

FIRST OFF: Inside Pool Magazine is one of the largest if not, THE LARGEST VOLUME pool magazine in the industry, FOR A REASON. They provide the best tournament coverage of any pool magazine BAR NONE. They send out over 26,000 subscriptions each month/cycle.

1. Moving is the number one problem with subscriptions.
2. Incorrect addresses written or input are the second reason for subscription problems.
3. As Cris mentioned, if you have a problem with your IPM subscription, telephone 888-428-7665. This is the SHORTEST route to fixing the problem. Leave a message if you don't get a live voice. If you don't get a call back in 2-3 days, get on their website at www.insidepoolmag.com and contact them via their website contact/email. If you don't get a reply back from that, then I will offer you to contact me via PM with your real name and all of your contact information and I will pass it on for you.
The first option and quickest option is just to call them.

Inside Pool Magazine can and if necessary will put your subscription on what they call the Publication Watch, which will determine the precise reason for you not receiving your suscription.

If you have proof of your purchase, that would be great too. They keep GREAT RECORDS, so they should be able to authenticate your purchase with very little problem. If you have a cancelled check, tell them so.

Inside Pool Magazine values EVERY paying subscriber and will resolve any problems.

The fact that they get out over 26,000 subscriptions each cycle is pretty impressive if they only get a few complaints here and there.

SO IN CLOSING: Do the smartest thing to get your problem resolved and call. Do the 2nd smartest thing if the number one thing doesn't resolve it and get on their website and email them. And if none of that works, PM me and I will see if there is something I can do to help.

INSIDE POOL MAGAZINE is a VALUED POOL MAGAZINE and a credit to our sport. Without them we would have very little information about the tournaments and I hope that you will give them a chance to resolve your problems. Besides, they have lots of good instructional material and a good staff of writers.

I do understand legitimate complaints and think you have a right to resolution and I KNOW YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU DESERVE AND ARE OWED.

However, if you are just inclined to rant and rave about Inside Pool Magazine for some past perceived injustice or personal problem and that's what turns you on, then just stay on track. :(

Inside Pool Magazine has a huge subscription base and all kinds of problems do happen but they will work hard to resolve all issues. Mail machines do sometimes damage or destroy addresses of mailed items. Mail carriers can "accidentally" fail to deliver magazines to their rightful destination. Family members and friends can sometimes "get your copy of your magazine" so they can see your name or someone's name in the magazine. Neighbors might like to pluck your magazine from your mail box. All of these problems can be tracked via PUBLICATION WATCH.
FTR, those of you that subscribed at Valley Forge, you may have gotten only one subscription depending on the date that your subscription was entered. I believe there is also a May June combination issue but VF subscribers will have regular service afte this. There are literally dozens of problems that can and will happen but Inside Pool Magazine is prepared to deal with them all.

Anyway, I hope this clears up your problems. I'm positive that your calling 888-428-7665 will get to the root of your problem.

Quit bellyaching and get the problem resolved, CALL THEM (ON MONDAY)! :D

That ought to be worth the price of subscription alone especially with their superior commentary personnel.

I think they just posted their explanation.

I am sure that occasionally subscribers get mixed up while having to deal with 26,000 subscribers.

And the billions and billions of people that visit their website.

Mike

so where are they with their explanation. the silence is deafening.

i guarantee they know about this thread by now.

I have to amend my previous post(s). I received the latest issue this week. Hopefully, everything will continue and be timely.

Sorry for piling on too quick.

I used to be a subscriber of their magazine and loved it. I never had problems with delivery, and the magazine was excellent as well. I had too many of them laying around so I cancelled.

You raise some interesting points here, but I am shocked at the number of people responding to this thread saying that they have had the same "issue." Obviously there is a real problem here.

I paid $35 (or $36) for a year subscription at DCC and then I have received March and April. Haven't got for May yet, and now we are in June.

I didn't think there could be any problems, and was sure that it was lost in mail or just late, but after reading this thread I will drop them an email and ask them when I can expect my May-edition.

Roy - likes the magazine

I sent them the following email, as suggested here in the thread, the 6th of June.

Hi,

I was just wondering when I can expect to receive the May edition?

I signed up during DCC and have received March and April, but since we are in June now I was wondering what is happening.

Thanks for a great magazine.

Roy

Received an automatic reply confirming that they had received my message, and that I would get a response quickly.

Still haven't heard anything.

Now we are in July, and I haven't received for May or June.

There's a couple months a year they don't publish an edition but you should still talk to them. Get your subscription information together and call them or go post about it on their forum and shake their complacency a bit. .

Many people already said they did call, e-mail, speak to reps in person, all without a proper resolution.

It seems more than clear that there is a pattern of service problems, so why blame the customers for it?

Funny how other magazines seem to accomplish the seemingly impossible -- deliver a magazine to the customer with regularity.

Just got the July/Aug issue in the mail today. I signed up at the BCAPL Nationals in May. No phone calls or emails required, just took a couple of months for the magazine to start coming. The T-shirt I got right away when I signed up. ;)

subcriptions

It seems that about 3 years ago the same complaints were going on about not getting mags delivered. Now its started again. This thread seems to have shook them up a little.I know I get magazines for my businesses every month. Some I don't even order. They all seem to get them out to me on time.
They are going to have to work on their customer service if they want to keep their advertisers and subscribers.

Today I received the July/August 2009.

Thanks to JoeyA who saved me for expensive international phonecalls and went to the trouble of fixing this for me. I guess I owe you yet another lunch :p

FREE video pool matches.

Is there a particular link to where these streams can be found?

If you put in a search uploads you can search for a specific match.

They also have a slew of videos on how to improve your game too from breaking, eye patterns, etc..

There are so many great interviews on this site that you can spend hours browsing interviews for your favorite players.

Hope you enjoy the matches.
