Once again Earl shows his lack of class, what a disgrace

Mr. Vet,
You have a history of bashing Earl. I'm just flipping the mirror. Earl will be just fine. The man is wired tight. Stop strumming his guts.

This is a real good post

You know some might love him and some might hate him but you have the chance to go and see and shake hands and talk to and get advice from and have a drink with and joke around with "The Best 9 Ball Player" that has ever been. you cant go see lassiter or mosconi or hundreds of others! Go to a tourament meet him even if you dont like him just feel good about yourself because you will have met a legend and you can tell your grandkids about him..
Im thankfull for the opportunity to have met him and many others years back even though im still young and a pup i will always remember all of them and how they took thier time out of thier busy ,stressfull, and hectic lives to say kind things to me, shake my hand, give me pictured autographs, i was just a kid, but it made me feel important that someone that i had only seen on tv and heard about showed that they were concerned about the youth of our sport and the future of it and gave compliments to everyone and was sincerely nice.
Heck mosconi could have told me to get lost you young punk, snotty nosed bratty kid! But he shook my hand gave me a hug and talked to me for a while, gave me a hug bye. I had left home, drove 150 miles to meet that legend and i told him why.
Go Meet Earl, your only gonna live once you work hard and you deserve to meet a legend. Just tell him that you want to be able tell your grand kids about the time you met the greatest 9 ball player ever, see if his eyes dont light up and your gonna see in them a hundred different emotions run through them. He will be thankful that he met you too! Heck give him a hug and tell him thanks for all the years of great matches he has given!

2F4F,
You've been puting out some really good posts and this is near the top.
I agree with your thoughts exactly and wish I had said what you did!

a history of bashing Earl? That is new to me. I have stated my views on his behavior before but nothing bashing him. Please point to where I've had a history of bashing Earl.

He does this time and time again, he disgraces not only himself, but his country when abroad ,WHY do they continue to put up with his IGNORANT ASS?????????

waiting on Nick B. to point to where I've bashed Earl in the past.

While you're glued to your computer  waiting for Nick to respond to your posting, you might do well to give this post some thought:
Corvette gets his jollies pushing other people down a flight of stairs (Earl, in this case). For proof of that, one need look no further than Corvette's signature line: "Some people are like slinkies..Not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you push one down a flight of stairs."

We all know that Earl has problems but it's appalling when people put him under the microscope, psychoanalyze his every behavior, and completely trash his reputation on an Internet pool forum full of armchair quarterbacks and rail birds.

this was payback time for Earl.Remember in a match a few years ago ,playing charlie, earl fouled caught on tape and said the ref didnt see it so it didnt count..What a piece of work he is..

Wow... good memory. I think I was there and saw that - but I have a bad memory:)

If I remember correctly, Charlie saw it too; he looked at Earl half-expecting Earl to point it out, and Earl noticed the ref didn't see it, so he didn't point it out.... Charlie didn't make a word about it, he just went on to win... and then it was brought up afterwards on the tapes, does that sound right?

If not, please correct me... As I said, I don't have a great memory, and it was a few years ago... but I seem to remember seeing that, just can't say when or where... jeez :embarrassed2:

It's on YouTube somewhere. I think both the rack and also some audio of Earl explaining to someone why he didn't call a foul on himself.

still waiting on someone to point out where I've bashed Earl in the past or pushed anyone down a flight of stairs.

Down 10-7 Earl had ball in hand and missed a shot on the 2 and then raked all the balls for Charlie to win. Then when the crowd applauded for him after Ken Shuman announced for everyone to give him a round of applause for his run in the tourney as a 5 time champion he covered his ears!!

What a clown. They should fine his ass or ban him from playing in these tourneys if he's gonna act like that.

Very clASSy thread..............NOT

I was there and saw it.

At the players meeting, Matt and Hopkins Sr. instructed all players to not question the referee's instructions at the table. Unfortunately, Scott Smith (referee) didn't see it. So, since Scott said it was not a foul, Earl complied, which later erupted into another dozen or more threads on AzBilliards with Earl's name in the headlines. :grin-square:

start a thread about my thread not being classy, won't hurt my feelings one bit. I'm a pool fan commenting on how I felt about a pool players disrespectful actions at a pool tournament on a pool forum. Makes sense to me.

dude i got the video of you and your earlomania action figure kicking him down your stairs then doing a flying elbo drop on him.....:D

you should put that you are kidding about this because all of the pundits with no sense of humor will think you are being serious and want my ass in a sling for it.

whatever........it takes all kinds I guess......I like threads that are more positive in nature and non bashing.

Like Jason mentioned, as he was in the audience watching live. Earl was actually in good spirits until some people in the audience took it upon themselves to start yelling idiotic comments and plain be dicks to him so they could get a rise out of him and get their show. I am guessing Corvette is the type of guy that would be one of those people yelling the insults, which is exactly what his sig alludes to.

Would all of you please read POST #124 by Cornerman.

I have more respect than to yell anything at anyone playing pool. I'll turn the tables and say that you might be the kind of guy that doesn't read the entire thread before you comment on anything. I'll also guess that you are the type of guy that wasn't at the tourney or wasn't watching the ppv to see the way Earl acted, LIKE I WAS!!

AND Jason was talking about the earlier match. Reading comprehension is a good thing. Look into it.

Vette,
Glad to see your fixated on my whereabouts. Sorry busy following the matches while I get some work done. Next time I will ask the Principle for a hall pass. If you figure I was wrong then sorry. Let's begin with the title to this thread.

Once again Earl shows his lack of class, what a disgrace...I as many others don't see his conduct at this event as a disgrace.
