Hey I'll sing Tate's Praises!

Chris is real smart, real informative, real honest and real helpful.

Oh, he plays real good 9 ball too.

Thanks

Kevin

Tate is a very highly valued form member and has been for a long, long time. I'm pleased to be able to report that I've had the pleasure of his company, too, and he's every bit as impressive in person.

When I was barely out of the AZ womb and looking for assistance on a very difficult cue ID, Tate went out of his way to help me. His assistance was in depth, courteous, extensive and professional.

I give Tate

Besides thanking you for honoring one of our best posters, I'll send you a little rep to show my appreciation for your thread.

Tate IS one of the best examples of what a poster should be.

I believe he has been around since the beginning of this forum and have learned a lot of forum etiquette from his posts. Chris has a great web site that I have used several times when I needed information. It is nice to see the forum leader get a pat on the back now and then. I have got to wonder though.....does Jay know him?

As long as I've been here, I've never seen anything but positive and informative posts from TATE.

I don't know who he is, but he's OK in my book.

As posted above, I always read Chris' posts because they are always quality in content and tone. You can't say that about many people around here.

Thanks Jack,

That was really nice of you to do this (paypal on the way:smile:)!

Thank you all for the very kind comments. I have learned a lot from all the people here and I am always grateful for the friendships we've developed.

Without these forums and the internet, I'm certain I would have lost interest in pool years ago. There is just not enough mainstream coverage of the game.

When I first started posting, I wrote some really stupid things (even more than now). One is so embarassing - I can't really mention it - questioning whether a pro player was openly gay. I could probably be talked into telling that one - but it really is, as Corvette would say, LOLerskates. Then I asked about another pro's prison record.

Holy smokes, was I asking for it!

Anyway, hopefully I've matured since then. Thanks Guys.

Chris

Ps. Not only does Jay know me, he owns me!

Chris is one of the good guys on here. Very knowledgeable and articulate. And he always manages to keep his cool, unlike some of us (Jay!). By the way he plays a pretty sharp game so don't be fooled by his disarming manner.

Chris Tate

Chris has been extremely helpful, especially on Palmer Cues and old Brunswicks.

His website has a lot of great info too.

I have been around here a good long time now...and Chris is one of, if not the most, stand-up guy here on AZ. He offers out terrific information and is generally quite gracious with his posts.

I have only seen him 'go off' once in all my years here...and with good cause, I might add. He will always be tops in my book!

Without a doubt Tate is one of the good guys here and I make it a point to read all that he writes.

Frank,

I would like to return the compliment. Some years ago I was sitting with a money player watching a tournament. All kinds of good matches were going on, pros and so forth. The road player says to me "if you want to see what I consider the perfect tempo and demeanor at the table, just look at him" and he pointed to you. Ever since then I paid attention too!

But, but, but, Jim -- giving TATE all three of these Grouchos means that you won't have any left for your obligatory trademarked post sign-off. That leaves your post unfinished! Gosh, no, not that -- a JimS post without his Groucho sign-off?!? <gasps!>

:D

J/K,

P.S.: I definitely agree that TATE is one of the good guys here, and I always look forward to reading his posts.

Chris Tate makes me want to be a better man.....

Hard to disagree here; I have always respected Tate's posts. There are a few people here that I always make sure I read their posts, Tate and SJM, are at the top of the list.

I'm late to this thread, but couldn't pass it up...

Chris Tate is without a doubt one of the good guys here. Chris has been around the forums for years and I had the pleasure of meeting him in LA, a few years ago. We laughed, we cried, we talked about years gone by...

Eric >ok, maybe we just had a couple of drinks
