Members need to communicate with Mike and the moderators more/better!
If something is out of line and offensive, let them handle it versus going on the attack or defense. The moderator should "fairly evaluate it" then remove it or make the offender edit it to evade banishment!
Just how it should work! IMO
The forum has many tools. Once something has been ruled on, reposting or revisiting the topic absent new evidence should be strictly forbidden!

Like you aren't the POSTER CHILD of instigation on this forum as is JAM. If you want to call a spade a spade, both of you guys incite riots on this forum and I'm one of the few, if ONLY, person who feeds it back to you the way you both dish it out -- except at a MUCH higher, more effective level.
The fact of the matter is if either of you ever (hypothetically ever, since it's never happened) got the better of me on here and made a funny video that became a part of your autosig, I would NEEEEEEEEEEVER (stress EVEEEEEEER) start sucking my thumb and go crying back to Mike and beg for help. I'd sit there and take it like a man.
None of those videos were outside of the rules and regs of this forum and just because something happens to chap your ass--- well, man-up and deal with it: either dish it back while staying within the rules or shut y'er pie hole.
I guess if you can't compete --- you cry. Why not, crying is far easier.

Here's my thoughts on this.
I've been warned once, maybe twice for things I've posted on this site in the close to ten years I've been a member and there were a couple more times that I expected to get a vacation for something I posted (although I was always instigated or goaded into those replies, which may have something to do with why I didn't receive a vacation).
Some may put me on the favoritism group because of that, I honestly don't know if I've received that or not.
It has seemed to me that some of that bans that have taken place have been a one sided ordeal and that a lot of the instigators got to skate while those continuously goaded into less than savory posts have taken a vacation.
The truth of the matter is that we don't know what has gone on behind the scenes.
I don't know entirely how I feel about that.
At face value, I think it would better benefit the site to have the causes of bans left and not removed. Hell, maybe create a section of the site for banned offenses and move the posts to that section so that people can see what led to certain bans if they wish.
At least then if there truly is no favoritism, it would be more transparent.
There were certain posters who were banned for longer periods after an unbelievable number of shorter term bans for the same offenses. PJ, JB etc..
PJ, I think was far more deserving of the long term ban than JB and let me explain why I feel this way. It has nothing to do with my disagreements with PJ.
In fact, we have communicated since his banning and we are still cordial with each other.
Now to my reasoning.
JB was typically goaded and baited into reacting the way he did by people who knew how to get his goat, while PJ typically was the one doing the goading and always acted in a condescending manner towards other posters and that typically led to an escalation where he would eventually violate the rules and get a vacation.
I'm frankly surprised that he didn't get a perma-vacation on several occasions.
PJ does have a lot of good information (I can't believe I just said that) but he sometimes would get lost in his own meanderings and thought that no one could possibly know as well as he when he was or at least could very well have been wrong.
Now back on point, there are a few instigators that have been allowed to stay on the site and they may have received warnings, but we wouldn't know that and when they continue to do the same things with no apparent action taken, it's understandable how site members can perceive a tendency of favoritism.
While we've had our disagreements, RKC and I are friends off the site, but I still can't help but see some of his posts and have a desire to say, Glenn, dude, kick back, stop taking things so personal and stop acting like you're the be all end all of table mechanics...Even if you are, you do yourself a disservice by acting like that.

Lou is unequivocally one of the instigators on this site and I can't help but feel that the site would be better off without him.
I've recently started playing league for the first time and I've had a couple of instances of the same thing happen.
My opponent makes an obvious foul and I say that was a foul right? And they try to insist that it's not and then call me a liar for saying that it was.
I have a HUGE problem with being called a liar, I consider my personal honor and integrity to be my defining quality and I can't stand to be called one.
I play in league as my fun pool time and things like that make it not fun. Last night, I told the team captain that if that happens again, I'm done with Thursday night league. I had someone sponsor me for the Monday night league to be the ringer for their team. He pays all my dues and will pay all travel to nationals.
The only reason I still play Thursdays is because of my integrity in playing for that team after agreeing to. If it's not fun though, I won't.
It's the same thing for this site. There are a few people who make it not fun to come on the site, so I understand when people say, it's them or me.
You can have a couple of people make it not fun for everyone and you've got to decide if it's worth it to keep the few people that instigate shit and chance ostracizing a lot of people that don't feel it's fun any more.
How many pro's that used to post to the site have we lost because of the douche bag instigators?

Nothing out of line about spiders post. Lou's name has came up over and over as the worst offender on the boards. Spidey dishes a little back and Lou has the nerve to point his finger. Really ????????????????

Agree 100%, a lack of communication has caused a good bit of people's frustration with this site. I was catching up on the last few pages of the thread before posting a message about how nice two way communication with Mike was in this thread.
While I don't think a lot of the suggestions are needed or practical I do think that people knowing that they were considered is nice.
I do think that it is ridiculous for anyone to have slaps at other posters in their signature or avatar where it is put up there with their every post. There have been other signatures besides spidey's doing that. Is the poster attacked supposed to defend themselves every time the other poster posts on any subject? Are they supposed to take it on the chin? Are they supposed to get fed up and leave? A constant dig at someone even if it is mild can get annoying over time as I'm sure is the intention most of the time. Spidey might just be overimpressed with how cool he is. Regardless, at some point the site itself should step in and say enough already.
Take every bit of the flavor out of the site and traffic will plummet. Let the inmates run the asylum and traffic will plummet. It's a balancing act, and why sites need effective moderation. I'm glad to see AZB seeming to move towards more widespread moderation. Dave handling the majority of the moderation and being the front man for pretty much all of the moderation has long been in an impossible position. People don't report threads because they ain't no rat! Then they complain because they or others get hammered for things that weren't nearly as bad as some things in the thread they didn't report. Traffic volume and a shortage of moderators has long insured that not every word was read by admin or moderators.
Admin and the moderators are the gods of a forum. We expect them to be Godlike, all seeing and perfect in their rulings, nevermind that perfect to one person isn't the same as perfect to someone else!

While back, I thought about what type of poster I wanted to be. I came with some guidelines in order not to get into online pissing matches.
While what and how I reply at times , may not be liked, I felt I did add something, one way or the other, and the constant pissing contest was taking away from this.
Does my reply stay on topic of the original intent of the first post. This simple little item helps preventing threads getting sidelined. I will start another thread in order not to side line a thread.
Does my reply add any real value. Y'all never know how many replies I've typed responding to assholes that I've never posted.
There are times a have not followed these, but more times than not, I do now.
Another style I use is just not to reply a lot. To not even read the replies. Most times there are like a lot of replies in this thread. If I feel what I have posted has some value, then it Will stand on its own and not need defending. One of the reasons I don't reply is because of those that's will reply just to be spiteful.
On line pissing matches are never won and I didn't like being in them so I choose to act like a adult and no longer get involved in them.
Real simple.......
Guess another thing is I have enough self esteem as not to care one bit about what people I don't know think of me.
