Email Received from CueComponents - Comments Referencing the 'idiot group'

Hello Friends...

Greetings from sunny Florida! I do hope this email finds each of you at your very best. Well, we certainly stirred the pot last month with our comments about the idiot newsgroup. We received an unprecedented amount of calls and emails from all of you who share our views. We had a ton of laughs. We're glad to see that most of you do in fact share our views regarding the 'misinformation network'. I don't want to harp on it but I guess you have to take it from where it comes from. I mean, can you imagine if someone were to have 10,000 posts on there. What does that say about a person? To me it says they are a loser and failure because they have nothing better to do than make posts 10 times a day. Thank goodness no one has that many posts but someone will and achieve the loser of a lifetime award. He who has the most posts doesn't win anything. Time is better spent working and progressing along than talking to idiots who share none of our values, experience and success.

Business is doing well and the Valley Forge Show is this week. We wish all of our friends the very best of luck and remember, the idea is to come home with the cash and not the cues. I know that your $1000 or $5000 cue is worth every penny but $850 or $4500 is a lot better than going home with the cue. Make the deals happen and don't be a 'wish I had sold it' guy. Best of luck to all of you. Unfortunately, I won't be attending because we're just too busy to leave here. And besides, I'm not in the mood to wear winter clothes. Yeah, I'm spoiled with Florida weather.

March started off strong for us with no let-up in sight most probably because the successful people are doing well themselves. Remember, you can't sell from an empty cart. Inventory, inventory, inventory!

In closing before we get to this month's goodies.. We just want to once again say a hearty, Thank you; thank you very much!

I want to take this time to thank all of you for making our sales such a success. As many of you know we purchased almost 3,000 Uni-Loc inserts and joint pins from a supplier who needed money. They're all gone with the exception of a few hundred joint pins which are priced to sell here at less than $4 each in quantity. These sell for like almost $9 each. Get them as we're almost out.
http://cmpgnr.com/r.html?c=1436344&...uecomponents.com/unilocjointpin.html&g=0&f=-1

Secondly, we purchased a tip deal of about 13,000 layered tips from another supplier who needed money. We went through all of them in a few months. Well, the supplier found another 100 boxes and so we have them to offer you here. This is the bargain of the century so get them now!! Last chance!

AMBOYNA BURL AMBOYNA BURL
Here's the story. I bought about 2,000 lbs around a year ago and it's been sitting. About 6 months ago, I got a deal on some more so I bought another ton. Well, guess what. I have more coming in and need to move some of fit out. The great procrastinator has got to move it out and make room. How about this deal! Buy two 1.5" squares x 18" long for only $99.95. And yeah, they're nice!! These are regularly $73 each and we sell plenty at that price! So, two for $100 is cheap!

OK gang - the biggest bargain.
By popular demand we'll offer this special once again this month. We're getting killed on this deal but I know it helps everyone out so enjoy. And hopefully it will build more lasting friendships that will support us long term.

We've been occasionally pricing our Resolute shafts at insane prices as long as you bought 20. Well, we thought we'd sell 400- 500 in total. We never expected many of you to load up. Some purchased as many as 300 and 400 at a time. We made a huge error and that was our fault for not putting a limit of 20 per order. So, to remedy the situation, we'll offer you Resolute shafts for the low price of $199.95 per 20 as long as you purchase 20 and only 20. You can purchase one order of 20 for this price.

i agree with hu... somewhat. buisness has to be ok or hed go away. yes he may have big names. he prob takes good care of them. fine. its screwing over the little guy that hurts. he just doesnt care. if he has barry or dennis that sell cues at 5k$ a pop or more sure they can deal with some rejects bc they buy a large amount. im sure they get different treatment then most. its me that makes a small amount of cues for not a huge amount of profit that it hurts. i kinda need the highest yeild for my money and joe doesnt give me that. esp with wood. thats where he will screw u most. esp on ebay. never buy wood off ebay from joe. i guarantee it will be unuseable. ive also heard from many that his shaftwood is complete trash. on top of that he is rude and foul mouthed. even when hes wrong like double charges or misleading info. atlas used to do this also but they changed with the time. he refuses to do so...

there is a saying i dont really agree with. that is any press is good press. someone said hes smart bc everytime he get a new thread pumping up his buisness. well i have to say not all press is good press IMO. if anyone thinks that 60 people bashing his brains in and saying hes a POS and they will never buy from him is good they are as crazy as he is...

I received the following email today and thought it a little strange, to say the least:

And now, before I comment on the Valley Forge Show, I'd like to comment on the
'idiot group' because it takes so little to entertain me. These guys just don't
get it and that's why they are affectionately known as 'losers' on the 'idiot
group'. While we're all being successful and making money, they hide behind
their computers typing away with their drivel. I would love to name names but we
all know who we're taking about.

Well I can not say I recall anyone trashing this guy.

I agree about e-bay

Dave,

I don't touch his e-bay wood deals with a ten foot pole. On the other hand, his six dollar shaft blanks were not only considerably better than the bulk purchase of shaft blanks I made from a well regarded supplier, at $2 apiece cheaper I came out with about twice the number of usable blanks that I got from the other supplier. His e-mail and website wood sales have gotten me quality exotic wood and maple too.

I'm not a huge buyer by any means and certainly not well known. I keep finding other things more profitable than messing with cues. I do take care of my business and so far Joe has always taken care of his business with me. He has went a little further than he had to with advice & information, and much further than he had to making good on an order that had problems.

Joe has sent out many e-mails with digs at some of the people on this site. The digs aren't aimed at all here and most have a pretty good idea who the language is pointed at. The e-mails haven't hurt his business in the least, neither have the "bash Joe" threads. That is actually how I met Joe. I posted into one of those commenting that where there was that much smoke there must be some fire so I wasn't going to deal with him. Joe thought that me not dealing with him was a good idea too. When we found out that we were equally grouchy and independent we decided that maybe we could do business. So far it has worked out great for both of us.

Folks:

I have to agree with Hu here. Although I've never dealt with this company "CueComponents", I do know a smart marketer when I see one. If I'm not mistaken (someone correct me if I'm wrong), I seem to recall another recent thread about either this (or another) company that sent out emails similar to the above, digs to AZB included, and someone posted the contents of the email here. If this is the same company, I gotta tell ya, this is a master stroke of marketing. He's getting free advertising, his "digs" at AZB are not only getting out, but they're even getting posted here on AZB -- probably poking an icepick in the eye of the people he intended to poke -- without any extra effort from him! Sort of like, "Hey kid, here's ten bucks; take this package and go place it on the door stoop over there." <Kid does so, and 15 minutes later, when the owner of the building comes out, kapow! The package explodes, ejecting dog poop all over the target person.> "Hey, I had nothing to do with that -- I saw some kid place something on your door stoop. I have no idea who he was." Pretty effective!

His readership is "automatically" expanded, he gets to poke certain people in the eye by having others do it for him, and who knows -- perhaps he gets another new customer or two out of the deal. I don't condone his comments or what he thinks of AZB, but hey, that's very effective marketing if he can get the very forum he's poking in the eye to expand his readership for him.

I disagree. The pool world is too small.

You can bet whenever the name CueComponents comes up in conversation (this being the first and only time so far) the only thing I will think is "That guy".

It is hard enough to sell anything in this industry without pissing off an already small customer base.

Someone please post the income financials of CueComponents from 2007 and 2008 - it has been pointed out so many times that his business is not hurting and actually helped by tearing into his customer base, I just want to see it.

Then I am going to take these numbers and email ads to

Busch Beer - start promoting that it is a great beer to get drunk and then beat up your wife to. Of course, this advertisement would be geared towards the can beer drinkers only.

Walmart - a great place to buy yourself a new wardrobe for $12, since none of our customers have any style anyways.

Ponderosa - a fantastic place to bring your kids and family and treat them to the meal they so deserve. Hell, we know you really aren't fit to be a parent anyways so bring them in and let them run around wild as the rest of the customers try to enjoy their meal.

Or is it just Joe at CueComponents spouting off to a few of his buddies about how well he is doing. Funny, you never hear the guys that are doing well in the pool world - Mark Griffin, Greg from Diamond, etc. pumping their chests......or ripping their potential customers.

Joe's E Bay shafts are excellent. I buy em cheap, put hooks in them and sell them to dumpster divers for snagging garbage bags.
With all of them slathered in Resolute, they won't warp when they get garbage can juice all over them.
And his exotic wood aint half bad either, I've made some of the fanciest honey dippers around on my lathe.
Anybody want to buy an ebony honey dipper? Only $100 beans.

I read both emails and the first thing that came to mind was Fast Larry - in a toned down sort of way. :D

I would only hope that this email lightens his workload and that he is no longer working 7 days a week.

What a douche !

I don't think this was an attempt at reverse marketing. He's just not a smart businessman for sending this out.

this guy is amazing...

you do have to be an "idiot" to buy from him.

out of them 100 orders he filled that day ill bet more then half got screwed some how some way or were left very unsatisfied..

keep up the good work joe...

funny thing is for a bunch of idoits with weak money that do not affect him buisness, he cant seem to stop talking about us...
It looks like he succeded in hitting a nerve. I bet he is laughing hard right now.

That's Marlyn Chambers the porn star. What does she have to do with the email?

Do we all know? I don't know.
Why would it be "us" without question? Quite a few other possibilites I'd imagine. Not saying its not AZB,but doesn't the assumption lend the email some weight?

If so,why the assumption?

I don't build cues,so I don't buy cue parts....maybe I missed some history?

Don't burn too much brain power trying to figure that out.

I overheard someone with a deep voice (he was on the other side of a green door) say she passed away Sunday in LA (that's Los Angeles for ya'll deep south folk ;) )

The former Ivory Soap girl, that broke down porn's inter-racial barrier has gone to the bi, errr big screen in the sky.

May she RIP.

Another email from the idoit supplier

Hello Friends...

Greetings once again from sunny New Smyrna Beach! Summer is upon us and I want to wish all of you a wonderful summer ahead. Enjoy the beaches and your vacations. Living in sunny Florida is like a 365 day vacation and I do it well as many of you will attest.
We finally caught up with our orders and we're trying to stay that way. We hired a new employee to help stay ahead with orders and it's been working well. Let's hope it stays that way as we've been through enough 90 day wonders.

You have to read this as it's truly very funny….

While a majority of newsgroups users are good people, there are a select few individuals who ruin it with their usual drivel. It is these few who we affectionately term as the morons. They know who they are and so does everyone else.

And now for our most beloved and enjoyed topic – 'The Idiot Group'. I wasn't going to mention them again this month but so many of you enjoy our humor that I just can't pass it up. I want to share with you a few of the many comments we've received. It's comforting in knowing that the majority of you agree with our assessment of the morons who have no life and nothing better to do than proclaim their self importance on 'The Idiot Group'.

For starters, we created a new section on our web site called 'Grins & Giggles'. We started this section off with a goofy picture and comment we received from a very well know veteran cue builder, who as you can see, has a great sense of humor. We started this new section with his submission. We laughed and we hope you will too. If you have something humorous, feel free to email us, and we'll include it in our "Grins & Giggles' section for all to enjoy.
http%3a%2f%2fcuecomponents%2ecom%2fgrinsgiggles%2ehtml

Others wrote in with some interesting comments such as 'The Idiot Group' consists of 90% young and clueless with 10% who have nothing better to do. We have to agree and were even more amused with the following comment that many of the usual trouble makers can barely afford their internet connection much less afford to buy what is necessary to build cues. So true! How amazing is it that all these losers found one another and congregate on 'The Idiot Group'. And that concludes our laughter for this month. Now down to some business for our successful friends and clients.

ALL OFFERS IN THIS EMAIL EXPIRE Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 at 3pm eastern and all offers are subject to prior sale. Act quickly as we do expect to be bombarded with orders. Also, please be patient because we always get behind with orders when we send out these emails! These emails go out to well over 5,000 friends and clients. We appreciate your business and patience.

I would just like to say that I have never purchased any Quality qualitative products(wood)
from joe, And that one of the 4 orders that I made with him was badly messed up. However he has always been willing to talk to me, and fixed any issues that I have had.

He has a very straight foreward way of talking to you, which I can appreciate.. Which might explain his recent emails.

The products that I do purchase are top notch, and only available(as far as I know) from cue components..
Here is the most recent email from Joe

OK gang – the biggest bargain…
By popular demand we'll offer this special once again this month. We're getting
killed on this deal but I know it helps everyone out so enjoy. And hopefully it will
build more lasting friendships that will support us long term.

We've been occasionally pricing our Resolute shafts at insane prices as long as you
bought 20. Well, we thought we'd sell 400- 500 in total. We never expected many of
you to load up. Some purchased as many as 300 and 400 at a time. We made a huge
error and that was our fault for not putting a limit of 20 per order. So, to remedy
the situation, we'll offer you Resolute shafts for the low price of $199.95 per 20
as long as you purchase 20 and only 20. You can purchase one order of 20 for this
price.
