Danny, you are unfortunately a nice guy in a business that does not reward nice guys. What I wonder is why do smart, friendly guys like you get hooked up in a game that brings the worst out of most of the players? When somebody is playing and it's his rent, food, drug money in the balance, don't be surprised to not get a hand shake or"well played".

Now I dont really think its fair to lump Johns name in with drug addicts! I know John very well and he has always been a epitomy for what American pool should be. On the other hand, I have never heard anything negative about Danny's character either. It is just something unfortunate that happened and like ALL of us, when we are competing, the passion and desire to win causes us to look at things a little differently when we lose. This is no place to air dirty laundry IMO...If John called Danny a little ***** then he was out of line, but Danny is out of line as well telling about private discussions they may have had. Either way...two wrongs do not make a right. I hope these 2 great players can just settle it on the felt. JMO.

I just wanted to say that on the third day I thought of action I thought John would apolagize for his behavior as in sometimes in the heat of battle we say things we don't mean. But there was no apalogy and he was definitely in the wrong about arguing over rules that had allready been established. I warned him not to call me that again and spoke some words that I didn't mean, I have respect for John's game and I realize the more I say the more it looks like I'm crying. Overall i guess he can't control what he says, talking trash while your opponent is not down on the ball is OK but questioning the integrity of my word as a gentlemen is not. If he was trying to shark me then he went about it in a very intelligent way, my word is my bond and he may have known that by arguing with me in front of everyone on the validity of whether jump cues were to be permitted would be in his favor. If you read this post John undrestand that I would have never said anything about the saver in Louisville had you not pulled your little stunt about "Do you have it in Writing that were not supposed to use jump cues" and "your acting like a little *****." Those were antics that we could have done without, so since you broke your verbal agreement with me I broke my verbal agreement with you about your little $1000.00 saver and believe me folks it was his idea to do the saver in Lousville not mine. I just wanted my room and gas expense paid and a chance to play who I thought was a champion.
If he ever wants to let the ten ball go and replace it with full rack bumps he can win some serious cash, and I guess since his memory is so poor we will have to put the rules in writing like some sort of stupid legal document between two people who can't trust each other. But Chad and Justin undersood the rules and so did John. Hell I'll even go to California and play him if you throw the Banks in the picture, as far as him calling me a little ***** well that was just a careless thing to say on his part - (thats on him) as I did nothing to provoke that. However i don't think it would have mattered on the outcome of the One Pocket I played my best it just was not good enough. I would also be interested in just playing One Pocket with him on my own $ even up and three foul rule included and of course no jump cues but that - might be gambling a little too much for him. This way we have the rules clarified and knowone needs to shake hands just the way he likes it.

Sincerely, Danny Harriman
for the record my backer knew all about my saver with you.he was not happy about it but he knew anyway cause i told him.this time i told him you asked for savor which i did not blame you.its like insurance.anyway making accusations which are not true about me and blown out of proportion is your right and i cannot stop you.if this is how you are going to handle losing i cant stop you from hurting your rep.your a grown man .maybe now you know why nobody on tour asks you to split rooms,go golf,go to dinner etc etc.they have all been telling me for years that you are a headcase and are brutal to deal with.i stood up for you for years but i think at this point the only time im going to hang around you is if you come to victorville and play say a 5 day 14.1 match against me.anytime either one of us utters a single word we will get fined 1000 during the match.so bring your ipod ,duct tape, and another 10000.have a nice day

Guys, not cool in my eyes for you two to be having a flame war on a internet forum, you guys have too cool down a bit before you get to personal! shut the comp down for the nite!

I am just damn thankful they did not go at it, although they are both fairly scrappy, I cannot imagine that it would have been nearly as fun watching them trade punches as it was watching them play that incredible one pocket match.

John, thanks for a very memorable night of world class one pocket. I was sitting in the front row by the end of the table and was usually the first person to tell you nice shot when you kept coming with it under the pressure over and over. I think Danny did you a favor by enforcing the no jump rule as your answer to the trap you were in was very clever and I think it turned that game around.

Nice job and thanks again for the excellent pool this weekend.

I can't get enough of this. I'm totally addicted to reading the responses.

Best line of the altercation.

Danny - "John, you can only jump with your own cue"

John holding up his jump cue - "Danny, this is my cue"

That was classic

All else aside, I would love to see this straight pool match take place. 5 days of nothing but top notch 14.1? I'm drooling already.

Time for Danny to stop the whining and head down and play on John's turf. I've met both of these guys and let's just say that my money will always be on John as player and as a stand up guy.

Congratulations John, hope you kick his arse in Victorville.

Let me be the first to happily indorse the EZ-BRIDGE! It can be bought at AZB sponsor PoolDawg.com ("dogs" are out of style, geneticists have now developed "dawgs").

Note: the product description assures prospective buyers that both the APA and BCA approve use of the EZ-BRIDGE. I guess all hell would have broken loose if Schmidt had busted out the EZ along with his jump cue...

Are those Goodyear or Michelin tires on that thing?

I go back to the moment where I took a minute to decide whether I would order the pay-per-view and I want to give myself a big thank you for choosing to witness this amazing part of pool history via TAR.

At what point is THIS forum going to get so good that you have to pay for IT?

best line ever written on the internets.

well said.

I've lost a lot of respect for both Danny and John as the result of their behavior as outlined in this thread. This is not the behavior of men with integrity.

If all these eye witness acounts are in fact correct. When john said his famous quote Danny..............then john violated Danny's human rights. This is not a gentlemanly thing to do. Not even close in any fasion. It's to bad that this is the USA I live in now. Can you imagine what would of happend to you if you said that to another man in 1950. I think john needs to take some time off and figure out that life is to short to do anything for a little money.

Plus knowing Danny I am sure he needed to restrain himself (man) I know he wanted make it clear who the ***** is. Danny told john once not to say that, so john used that to play better pool. This is not good behavior this is chicken wussy moves. I knew there was something a little fruity about that john shmidt guy.

I personaly think the world would be a much better place if when people starting poking fun and talking "smack" I was able to show them exactly why poking with words isn't very fun.

In no way am I saying this is an excuse for the loss Danny, I think you should of asked for a break and went and got some food or listened to some music, cleared your head came back to win. Never let the ******* get to you Danny.

Violated his human rights??? What, do you work for Greenpeace or something? Are you gonna duct-tape yourself to the next pool table and protest the next match? Danny is a man among men -- I'm sure he wouldn't say his HUMAN RIGHTS were violated.

Uh, did you see the chick in his avatar? I'm laying 500-1 there isn't one thing fruity about John.

What are you saying, exactly? Are you saying you'd grab a hold of him? I'm sure Danny is pissed over losing. One thing he is, however, is a gentleman. I doubt he wants your protection.

SpiderWebComm, I'm glad you posted that. I was a little confused over Jamison's post. Seemed out of the blue.

No doubt, I would like to see her Apples:D :D

I was there and sitting directly across from the players and John was out of line when he called Danny a little beeeeooootch, that is true and I thought Danny handled it well. I think if Danny had won the match we probably would not have heard too much about this, I know it was frustrating for Danny to lose the one pocket as he was in a good position to win the last game and was just out moved during a long safety exchange with John. I think Danny is giving John too much credit for being clever/smart, John had just lost a game from a large lead and was up against it and tilting a little when he broke out the jump shot. As I said before, I think Danny did John a big favor by not letting him use the jump cue.

I just hope they both get over this minor spat and play another match in the near future.

Yeah I would like to see this rematch and get a little side bettin action too..

John lives roughly 30 minutes from me and never plays at the home room here in fort walton beach as he's in pensacola..

This could be a good neutral ground to play on???

The pockets are not the tightest. We have one table that is a little tighter, but the tables are perfect and well kept..

Gold Crowns..

Excuse me for wishing this would go down here and possibly bring a little action with it too.. :)

I can't say John would want to play on these tables but I don't think he would get mad at me for attempting to get the action here in fort walton.. :p
