Kevin Trudeau Jailed

I just don't understand why the crowd jumps on Kevin Trudeau and not AzB-ers who have done the same thing you are accusing Kevin of. It's like everybody turns a blind eye.

I'm sorry JAM, my intention was not to offend you and it never will be. Here is where I am coming from. Outside of pool, KT has maliciously scammed people for several years and it's finally starting to catch up to him. IF he actually admitted to what he has done, made his apologies to those he took advantage of and owned up to it I would have some empathy for him. But, to this day he is still trying to weasel out of it and telling the judge he is penniless all the while buying 100 dollars cigars and the like. He is just another scammer pulling a Blogoyavitch in my opinion. And it's a shame because I think what he was trying to do could have been great for pool.

Are there others out there doing the same thing, sure. Do they deserve the same scorn, absolutely. I just came across this story and thought it would be of interest to the pool community. Again, I apologize for the offense, I wasn't aiming to cause you any grief.

You are about the only one here turning a blind eye.

Aren't you using the same logic that my 9 year old uses when he hits his sister and he then says, "Well, Jimmy hit his sister too, so what's the big deal?"

Huh???

Dude's a liar and a thief.

Had his venture worked, he would be a BIG HERO.

Either that or we would be crucifying him even worse had the IPT lasted long enough for Trudeau to implement whatever ultimate scheme he may have had. If the IPT was for real it is on a very short list of KT's honest ventures.

In 2006 I helped revive a major US tournament that had been dormant for nearly 2 decades. Needless to say the players assembled were more than excited. I don't recall my feet ever touching the ground that week. Towards the end of the event, Trudeau showed up in NJ. The players bring him over to me and introduce us. Of course, I already knew who he was. We shook hands. He proceeds to tell me he "intends to OWN POOL". Really? Wtf? It wasn't long after that my horse won a large IPT event. He left the venue without his check over a tax dispute. The next day I arranged for the delivery of the check. Shortly thereafter the IPT failed.

I sure wish that there was a successful men's tour in which they were paid their worth. The IPT would've been that tour. Too bad it failed. Even worse that it was started by a psychopath. An unremorseful, criminal scumbag who has finally arrived where he so rightfully belongs. May his stay be long and memorable.

I doubt it was an honest venture. My first guess was it was just a way to push his products. The first time I saw one of these matches the banner ad for one of his worthless books was hanging from the table.

I figured: Pool was his portal for pushing his products. How's that sound?

I could be mistaken on this part but I know for some time he was NOT allowed to broadcast any infomercials. If it was during the time of the IPT, then it would be my guess his reason for doing the IPT was to find a new way to push his products since he was barred from doing infomercials.

His thinking probably was if he could sell enough of his goods to cover the cost of production than it would be worth it. Once he realized it wasn't going to work he moved on.

YOu have not offended me, Cdryden. I'm used to taking the heat when the subject of the IPT and Kevin Trudeau come up, so no harm, no foul.

It is interestring, though, that several members of this forum made their wealth similar to the way Kevin Trudeau did, but nobody says a word about them.

I am not offended by your thread. I am just stating my opinion like the rest of the folks are.

These types of cases are always tricky. Trudeau says he's broke and, obviously, the judge doesn't seem to think so.

Reminds me of gangster Meyer Lansky, who claimed to be "an old man living on a pension" when it was believed by the government that his net worth was in the area of $300,000,000. For those who have watched "The Godfather II," the Hyman Roth character was based on Meyer Lansky.

Guess we'll see how this plays out.

They rolled out the red carpet for the pool players, made 'em feel like sports celebrities, and the pool players had a sense of pride, each one, as they walked into the tournament venue to the words "Welcome IPT Athletes." :)

Shouldn't pool players be this of themselves anyway :thumb up:

That's cool, I was actually worried that I crossed a line with you there. I respect you quite a bit and would have felt horrible if that was the case. I know sometimes my posts lack tact, it's not personal just a flaw in my personality.

Trudeau put all of his monies, so he says, in his newlywed wife's name, a Ukranian woman. Now he says they're "estranged." Yet, the investigators find that Trudeau is buying expensive cigars, clothing, et cetera. Where is he getting the money if he says he's broke? thinks the Court. Thus, this is why the judge put him in jail yesterday. He's due back in court tomorrow for another hearing.

I do find it interesting that Mike Sigel is starting up a global 8-ball league, at least that's the latest news. :D

Oh, where, oh, where, is that newlywed wife with all the dough.

In the words of MC Hammer........" Just because you hear I was in bankruptcy and broke doesn't mean I'm broke it means I can't live the same lifestyle...
Don't feel sorry for Hammer"
I always remembered Hammer addressing his fans, I guess they were trying to send him money lol

I always wondered if Mike would get implicated in anything from his dealings with KT, I know they were close and all. I'm not saying Mike should be, just curious.

Not sure what difference it should make even if all his assets were put in the mail order bride's name. It shouldn't be too terribly difficult to establish the transfer was a fraudulent conveyance meant to dodge the fines and damage awards, if such a transfer even occurred. It should be easy to determine if this woman has those assets in her name.

I'm amazed that the IRS isn't also breathing down his neck. Hard to believe that with all this guy has pulled he dutifully paid his taxes all along the way.
