Ronnie Wiseman stiff's me for $3900

MM

You are absolutely right that it was my fault i got stiffed.
He got one over on me.
Getting stiffed has no bearing on me putting the squeeze on him to get my money. Just cause i found a way to get my money back doesn't mean i didn't let it happen.

ShawnD bears part of the responsibility for the situation, AS does R.W.

RW took advantage of the fact that ShawnD didn't take the steps to prevent it.
I'd be willing to bet that this is the last time ShawnD doesn't take those steps when gambling for a high amount.

Any chance you'd like to assign some %s to that? I would be interested in your take...

And it's going to be your mom's/wife's/daughter's/girlfriend's/sister's fault if they ever get raped and aren't carrying a pistol at the time. Real smart logic there fella...

But like I had said, I wasn't holding my breath...

And I'm not about to bet with you on an online IQ test. I do give you some credit. You're smart enough to get somebody with some actual intelligence to take the test so you could submit their test scores. We already know you would do it too, because it's always the other guy's fault if they fail to prevent a scam...

What's a matter man. I thought you could spot me weight IQ wise.
Are you chicken?

BOK BOK BOK BAGAAAAAWK!!!!

I think the brunt of the responsibility likes on whoever doesn't want to get stiffed.
It could have been the other way around, cause RW apparently didn't do anything to prevent himself from getting stiffed either.

Basically, if Whoever didn't want to get stiffed, took the proper precautions, then it ultimately wouldn't happen.

By not preparing, you effectively allow someone who has it in their nature to take advantage of you, to do so.

I think you have dodged the question...

No, i don't see it like that.
I don't think it can be broken down to x has ???% of the blame, and y has ???% of it.

Basically, if someone takes enough precautions, they reduce the chance to get stiffed to close to 0%.
That does not mean that someone can't whip out a gun and REALLY stick the place up as some people try to compare stiffing to, but in terms of the gambling agreement, and the contract the players make before they start, they reduce the chance of getting stiffed to nil.

It's simple.
By 1 player adopting these practices, it basically forces the OTHER player to comply.
If the last barrel is held with a 3rd party, and both players pay after every game, when the player doesn't pay, the guy goes over, collects from the 3rd party, and the game is over.

If the thief would stop stealing, then the theft ultimately wouldn't happen. How about that?

It makes a whole lot more sense than what you said if you think about it using common sense. The theft is what starts it all, not the other guy who is just minding his own business and not bothing anyone. If there wasn't a guy trying to steal, there wouldn't even be a guy for you to debate about whether or not he took enough precautions.

We all agree that people should be reasonable about protecting themselves (as a favor to themselves to lessen headaches they deal with, not because of any duty or responsibility to control somebody elses actions). The fault for any theft lies solely with the person that makes the choice to commit it. The ONLY person that can ultimately prevent a theft is the thief.

It's very telling that in almost every case, the people that try to blame victims, are the ones that do the victimizing.

Never thought of it that way. I see your point. If John Lennon had just been wearing a bullet-proof vest, he would still be with us.

Update

Would like to let everyone know the situation between me and Ronnie has been mended. He has stayed in contact with me everyday since we played except for maybe a couple. In the beginning Ronnie stood good for the money that was bet on the side between me and Scott while me and Ronnie played.

I posted that i was stiffed for $3900 by Ronnie only because he stood good for it. He had all intentions in sending me the money within a couple of days while he was headed to the Carolina's for another event. Well somehow or the other Scott stayed in Hattiesburg with a few other guys trying to make a score and take care of the debt which i just found out the whole truth is partially Scotts debt anyways. Ronnie was told that the debt would be taken care of and not to worry about it. I was impatient about this whole situation and created this post not knowing the whole truth just going off of what Ronnie told me.

As of today me and Ronnie have worked out our situation. I would like to say that I jumped the gun on this deal without knowing all the truth. I only went off what was told to me. But I know exactly what happened now and understand why Ronnie was saying what he did.

I also would like to apologize to Ronnie Wiseman for damaging his image on this forum if anyone even took this thread seriously. I didnt intend for that to be the purpose of this thread anyways.

Again, As of today Ronnie has cleared up his end of the deal and is in the process of making it right on my end. To sum it up he is making sure i get all of my money.

Sorry Ronnie if this thread affected you in anyway.

Sincere Apologies,
Shawn Dykes

Over 300 posts later and now this. Strange!

Again, just goes to show that not all things are as they first appear.

I sure hope that there are public apologies forthcoming to go along with the public condemning.

So it was all just a joke.

Don't worry, all is good. No one took it seriously. You didn't do Ronnie Wiseman any harm nor yourself in this thread.

Next up Marissa is going to tell everyone that it was all a joke as well. Things will be back to normal at AZ.

Kumbaya.

I think you gotta start a thread with a Title to match the above sentiment. This thread title is being viewed over and over. I't's only fair IMHO.

Good point and perhaps the OP could share, as he did throughout this thread, details which led to his apology.

I'm glad things worked out.

This is a really good point......

Yeah, why don't you start a thread with something like........

"I WAS VERY WRONG.....RONNIE WISEMAN DID NOT STIFF ME."

.....in caps..........
