So where is the Bonus Ball annoucement?

I did not know cameramen made that kind money. Wow!
I just went on the Bonus Ball website to see if Mike Dechaine was a member. I seem to recall he was not. I then read an article written by Nathan about the team he was on. Ralf Souquet took his place.
The website, I must say, is well done. You being a graphic kind of guy may see it differently, but I like the website.
I'm not sure how to say this, but it hurts my heart to recognize those who did invest their life into this Bonus Ball venture only to have it crumble around them today. I'm not saying it's dead, but it is starting to deteriorate a little. Whatever has happened to date, these guys truly did want something good to happen. I do feel bad for them. I really do.
I agree with Joe_Jaguar that they should be out promoting Bonus Ball at the Rio pronto.
Website is very well done. Absolutely. Beyond their video gear, probably one of their only sale-able assets as a turnkey PPV web app (although I never did buy the PPV, so can't really tell 100%)
Site might make a good upgrade for TAR or especially Accu-Stats in the fire sale...
And some us would have higher post counts after all these years.

Not so relevant now that bonus ball is on the bench... I did a quick search and found a post by fatboy saying, in a nutshell, you cannot get a legal sports book on anything except contact sports in vegas. The Nevada State Athletic Commission is responsible. The NBA tried and failed, so if something as big as the NBA couldn't make it happen, there's no way any pool venture can pull it off.
That is NOT good money, IMO.

I came up with @ $1,000,000 over 23 weeks. Close to $50k/week like you estimate Justin. I too don't see how they could ever have thought they'd be able to crack that big of a nut, especially when their only revenue is Luxury's $169 PPV.
Not that they shared their biz plan with us AZers, other than to say we are insignificant to it. Now this press release is doing a 180... Hmmm...
You had 18 players in your numbers before.
Here is the numbers I used when looking at this thing:
They have six matches a week. One on Thursday, one on Friday, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. There are six players in each match so they pay 36 players per week.
Now let the fun begin...I will round off numbers for expediency
36 players x $1000 = $36,000
Production staff of four people @ $1200 each (Producer + 3 Camera Ops and my bet is the producer makes more) = $4800
Referee (totally guessing here but I will say $200 a day) = $800
Bonus ball girls for the week = $1000
Random staff for letting people in selling booze and merch = $1500
Commentator = $1000
Photographer = $800
So a rough estimate of just staffing costs without considering any other overhead comes to: $45,900 per week.
Divide your rent, electric, insurance, consumables and other monthly expenses by four and you will easily get enough to push that number to the $50K I mentioned.
It is a brutal nut to try and make.

What are your thoughts on how they expected to cover those expenses + earn a profit?
A T.V. deal? Perhaps they had one lined up if they could have shown they had generated so many ppv buys?

My question is: Assuming they aren't paying the players cause they're busted, how did this well funded venture run out of $$$ @ 3 weeks into the season? They're like a million short for just season 1 - surely the construction fiasco did not set them back that much - did it?
