Let me give you an example..

In columbus ohio the owner of cornfed red's was a go off..his name is dane

If you got him in a game and he lost he was blowing a minumum of 10k and usually had no chance of winning. he would always ask for a buyout when he was real stuck everyone knew this would happen ahead of time and was always ok with it because they were always shooting very little money at a lot of money...with usually way the best of the game...

If he blew 17 k and asked to buyout for 12k most said sure because they stole the money and had no chance to lose..

Treat a sucker good is the moral of the story because that buyout would make you more in the long run...

If scott would've acted proper about the hit even if it was bad then this wouldnt have happened but no he made hateful comments and was in an outrage after dippy started making a comeback...if scott wouldve just said to himself ive beat this guy out of like 300 k just let him do whatever he wants smile and keep collecting....even when he realized dippy was pissed about his actions he shouldve said dippy im sorry for way acted dont even worry about the last set we can write it off and play again someday...letting that 50k go might have won him 300 k in future now he is in a battle of stories and is nevre getting paid absolutely no chance that is if he didnt already....

Great post. Artie Bodendorfer gave a long detailed dissertation about gamblers who win lots of money doing one thing and then losing it all doing other things over on the one pocket place. His typing and spelling are horrible but I could tell that he is a genius in a certain area and he has made millions. By the way. He simply calls em losers.

Back in the sixties it was a great easy hustle to find a building, put in 3 or 4 pool tables and then get what they use to call an amusement company to install about 4 or 5 pinball machines. Just get the very least amount of folks coming in there and hallelujah. Forget about pool. The money was in those coin swallowing devices in the back. I use to just wonder where all that goddamnedd money came from. It was unbelievable. I won tens of thousands off single pool players who I could never ever deal with on the other tables and didn't have to do much for it. Later on when they came out with the poker machines, it just increased so much more. Then when they install the bill stackers to where you could just insert 10 20 and 100 dollar bills, oh lord. You talk about a license to steal..

But I noticed one thing. There were pool players who pisssed away all their winnings but there were some who didn't. There were some who parlayed their winnings into fortunes and opened other businesses, a car dealership. A real estate company. A classy niteclub. One took his winnings from Johnson City score invested it into marijuana and built a pot and qualude empire. He told me about a year ago that he still had 7 million dollars left. So there are a lot of em like Scott and I really don't care if he gets paid, but I like Bill Cardon and our main man Lenny and I think they should get paid and I think he should return the 10gs for the SUV and I think that they should do what we use to call- LETS RESUME OUR ACTION

I want to ask a serious question (without slowing-down the plethora of hilarious sh*t being posted here). It concerns posting. Not being much of a gambler, how do two people in a 100K pool match (50K each) post that kind of money? I understand the third party holding for them and all, but do people actually walk around a poolhall with hundreds of thousands of dollars in their pockets??? After what happened to Mike Surber (and others for far less $$$), I would think this kind of bravado could get someone seriously hurt or killed. Being a super small-time gambler and a rare one to boot, I wish that some of you high-rollers would fill me in on how this big action stuff goes down. Thanks in advance.

Are y'all serious??? NOBODY wants to answer this question in my above post??? I really am wondering about this.

First - your story above is no way related by comparision to the issues here.

Dippy hasn't asked for a buyout. He has ripped into Scott's character many times while Scott (or his mouthpiece (s) on the internet have been quiet about his). Dippy has flat out done, well two things - refused to pay Scott, (this is not a buyout) and then came back and told the world that Scott was paid in the Valet of Aria. This is called a stiff - not a buyout. A buyout would have been, hey Scott all I got is $25K and a Rolex worth $4K - how about you take this and we call it even for the day. I will also sell you this Tahoe I got laying around for $10K so you can be a baller like me. I am gonna rest up and see you in a few days and we can POST and play some more. Getting $0 on a $50K bet is not a buyout. Or if Dippy felt he was cheated (and if the story of Bartram calling the hit good, then he shouldn't feel so on that action - the bathroom story if that is true than yes), then he should tell Scott here is my buyout offer. You got yours. Enjoy it, tell em where you got it. But I am going to the next champion in line cause I don't gamble with people that don't treat me what I consider fair.

With all this, I am getting confused on the different games---
What was the game Scott gave Dippy and what was the game that Busty gave Dippy? I just want to clarify your point that Scott had no chance to lose.

I know they invented gambling and all in Ohio but where I come from a buyout such as this wouldn't sit very well. Not to mention the other unexcusables. Again - everyone should always try to do what is right and worry about the wrongs later.

Yea I dont care about your friend the ahab...he pulled an all time double reverse move in a partners game where he was suppose to lose on purpose..i hope he never gets a quarter he is the biggest nittiest most heartless good pool player i ever met...donnie has more gamble than him ...wow did i just say donnie has more gamble than someone...he started playing masden for 50 a game escalated to him being stuck 12k was offered i think 8k or something on a buyout didnt take its his own stupidity...once again he had a sucker that had no chance to win gary beat him out of like 100 games of one ball onepocket..couldve got 8k chose to be greedy and got zero...dane had the money to hand to la steve and gary they said no we wait for full payment...go on take the money and runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn is what i was always told.....

So..once again...you stand by your statement....It is ok to air someone if they chose not to take buy-out ? That makes you a real piece of work then...Don't forget that Gary rented a u-haul....drove all the way to kentucky to pick up pool tables they agreed on...got there b4 said time they both agreed upon...called Mark & wasted 12 hours calling Mark over & over till they ran out of time & had to get back to Shreveport....funny how when it's one of your own how quick it is to whitewash it.

Once again then...somebody can get half of a legit debt of 15k if they can get it out Of your friend by whatever means that's necessary.

I could care less if you like my friends or not...I was just pointing out your double standards when it concerns one of your own.

I find it hilarious that you would say even Donnie has more gamble than Gary....Ask Scott frost how much he beat Gary out of without ever adjusting the game.

And you admit openly that you thought Gary was gonna do business on somebody..I reckon the Karma bug bit you in da @ss on that 1...might have been the only way to get ur nitty @ss up there with ur partner was to say ok...then just play it out...shows more about your character than his to be honest with you.

You can put it in the safe. All poolrooms (or most anyway) have a safe. And it's in a private office.

Focus, Focus, Gentleman... this is a Dippy Stiffy thread... anyone else in the long line of people that have got stiffed over the last 100 years... ya got's to start your own thread:D:D

Watchez, my understanding is this was not the same game Dippy played with SVB and Busty. I believe (it's buried back in one of these threads) Scott gave Dippy the break + BIH after, and the 5 ball. IIRC, the game with SVB and Busty was Breaks+BIH but Dippy also got the 4 ball AND the last 4.

I think that's pretty close. The big difference being the 5 ball versus the 4 ball plus the last four.

sadly i have at least one thing in common with dippy and maybe it's part of what gets me riled up in this thread.

I often play pool players giving up the nutz for sure. I find it entertaining and it helps me see all the big holes in how i play. I find the hourly rate reasonable and you know i get to play pool. But these dumbass broke pool players then go around talking shit to their broke buddies about the big score they made off this sucker. And how they're going to make a bunch more because they're so smart.

I make and lose tens of thousands of dollars every day in the financial markets. So a couple hundred bucks means nothing and I feel like i'm doing these pool players a favor by playing them. But they just can't seem to get it. I don't if it's ego, or stupidity or the pool culture or what but i end up moving on because they can't show any respect at all and don't know what's really up with me playing them.

I know a couple hundred dollars isn't 50K but it's the mentality that's annoying. they think they'[re fooling somebody

mlalm ill take 200 a day and wont tell anyone

Off topic I know.........

A little off the topic of the thread. For the record I've never seen DD hit a ball and am not talking about him with these thoughts. A friend and I were talking about the weight DD has been getting from the champions that he has been playing and how big it is. The one thought I wanted to give was that some people have said how if DD can't win with these spots than he shouldn't even be playing cause he must be that terrible. Probably a true statement. But I have seen with my own 2 eyes how guys that aren't completely helpless can lose with these kinds of spots. When the great player gets going, it is just 1 run out after another no matter the circumstances. If the weaker player doesn't run to his spot ball, game over 90% of the time. It wears on the weaker player that they almost never get a return trip to the table. With that in mind, there seems to be a particular spot that is the cut off for people. It obviously varies from player to player but I have seen with my own eyes that some players just have a number(ball) that they can work with and the next ball in line just seems to be out of reach for whatever reason. This is just a random thought I felt like interjecting into the whole DD scenario. Continue with the discussions.

He got 3 games on the wire too. In the very first post by Bill he explains the spot in detail.

But, it's gonna be in somebody's pocket on the way to the parking lot (unless there's valet parking) and on the drive back to the hotel/home. I've heard of Armored Cars getting "knocked off" for less than 100k.

Then, as I stated earlier, there's the case of Mike Surber (and others).

Doesn't sound like a "healthy" practice to me.

to maximize the box office

You know there is a screenplay in here somewhere.

"The Dippy Situation ".......Based on a True Thread

Robert Deniro as Billy Incardona

Collin Farrell as Scott Frost

Ben Stiller as Dippy Dave

Kimbo Slice as Lil' Kimbo the Samoan

And introducing Big Nasty as the 2004 Black Tahoe

I am pretty sure it would do Avatar numbers.

if you want avatar numbers you might need some avatar effects.

Edit to add: Speak of the All-Stars and Ktown arrives. Lets put some life in this thing. No sleep till 1500 posts or someone commits suicide by Mod.

Well, guess I should make at least one post to add to the All-Star count on this thread.

Yeah. In one of the older threads covering the earlier action, SVB gave Dippy 7 games going to 13. Busty gave him 18 on the wire going to 40.

This story is 50% correct. Scott Frost is a gambling degen....he blew all the money he won from Viffer. He was living the high life in suites at Aria, and blowing every dollar he had won. He tried to hire guys to rough up Viffer, and that is when Viffer took back the car. "Coach"....you are older and wiser than me, but please, don't give only half the story. You know it, and everyone else does, Viffer paid Scott the 50k, and he blew it, and is lying to you. If you click this link, Viffer even ADMITS to losing 200k to Scott, then Scott asking to borrow $2000 a few days later!! HE GAMBLED IT ALL AWAY
You don't get to Viffer's level of trust in the gambling world by stiffing people on $50k bets...that's a lot in the pool world, but not in the poker world.
