Very dissapointed in lee brett. Should be ashamed

it's funny to hear humans trying to figure out what's "good" or "bad"

I'm sure you've heard the saying, 'God works in mysterious ways."

I bet a "Higher Being" would think it's funny to witness humans trying to figure out what's "good" or "bad" in someone's behavior, pretending like they know the future when everyone knows we don't. It reminds me of a story about a farmer who owned a horse and had a son.

One day, his horse ran away. The neighbors came to express their concern: "Oh, that's too bad. How are you going to work the fields now?" The farmer replied: "Good thing, Bad thing, Who knows?"

In a few days, his horse came back and brought another horse with her. Now, the neighbors were glad: "Oh, how lucky! Now you can do twice as much work as before!" The farmer replied: "Good thing, Bad thing, Who knows?"

The next day, the farmer's son fell off the new horse and broke his leg. The neighbors were concerned again: "Now that he is incapacitated, he can't help you around, that's too bad." The farmer replied: "Good thing, Bad thing, Who knows?"

Present Moment:

Soon, the news came that a war broke out, and all the young men were required to join the army. The villagers were sad because they knew that many of the young men will not come back. The farmer's son could not be drafted because of his broken leg. His neighbors were envious: "How lucky! You get to keep your only son." The farmer replied: "Good thing, Bad thing, Who knows?"

One time I am at Hard Rock after being out all night and me and my girl are down to .75cts. I said let's put it it in the first slot machine we see and go to bed. First pull $150! We cash out and go have a nice breakfast.

Hmmmm..........I bet you got "lucky" twice that night!!!

Maniac (why do I quote you so much, John??? :sorry:)

Hi CJ,

I'm sure you've heard the saying, 'Don't look a gift horse in the mouth'.

It sometimes amazes me how so many fail to recognize the gifts that they have been given.

Best Regards & Wishes,
Rick

You wrote, "I'm antogonistic. I'm not sure of what I believe in and you shouldn't be either:smile:." In a moment of cerebral disconnect you combined antagonism and agnostic. There is no play on words there. If there was, it would actually make sense. You're too embarrassed to admit it was a brain fart.
:

At least you're close to understanding that it was intentional. That's good enough for me, because it's tiresome having to explain something over and over again. If I make a mistake, I admit it. It was no mistake, I mixed antagonist and agnostic, resulting in antagonostic. End of discussion.

It reminds me of a poster a coworker once had.. Militant Agnostic: I don't know what I believe and neither do you!

And then they paid the farmer to do some work for them but he just took it and spent it on booze,
and they said "bad thing. screw you, farmer."

I like Lee. But, if you don't have the self control to not get drunk for a couple days to play a tournament, GET THE HELL OUT OF VEGAS.

FatBoy looked at me in London and said "I've worked and lived in Vegas many years, do you know how tough it's going to be for everyone to be in Vegas for Bonus Ball AND show up for matches on time?" LoL - so far I think, as a whole, everyone's done pretty well.

Las Vegas was designed to strategically bring out human beings weaknesses. They've made billions and billions of dollars sticking to this routine and have it down to a science.

If anyone doesn't think they have any weaknesses they haven't been in Vegas for a month......or "not really" anyway. ;) 'The Strip is the Teacher'

The Strip is the teacher !! LOL, very good CJ, i always said you had a career as a writer.

I been working on the Strip for close to 25 years and been in the gambling business for another 13 more besides that. They have it down to a science, i think the only people who have a shot of leaving with the money from a win are those who score just before they get on the plane, because in all my years and all the wins i have seen, most of them get pissed back.
Unless youre the rare individual who has iron will power, youre in for a lot of turbulence, A LOT.

Them "FREE" drinks that they serve are the most expensive drinks on the planet, bar none. People still havent and wont ever figure it out, lol.

Not a good place for pool players to live. :shocked2:

Well now we need to draw a line in the sand, pick sides, and say bad things about the people on the "other" side.

Not just because ....but

Lee usually stays with me when he is in Chicago. I like him very much and I dont doubt his integrity. If I am holding I would put him into action anytime. We all do dumb things. You could rent Yankee stadium with the money I have blown because I was foolishly enhanced.

Beard
Mr. Freddy , The world needs more folks like you sir ,not so much because you are "Freddy the Beard " but because of how you see things and have a heart towards others. Some people on these forums have had the luxury of living a life with the illusion of being "in control" . They come from a decent family , graduate from high school , some college maybe , get married , a career ......the works , and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that .In fact it's really what most people want. Others of us are not quite so "Mainstream" .Some of us have been to the edge , over it ,beyond and a few of us have even made it back to the edge after many trials. Some people have never had anything get a grip on them that no human power ,especially there own ,could get them out of . These are the people who say "Lee could of stopped after a few drinks " HA ! Then there are those of us like me who once they start doing something ,anything that feels good ,drinking ,drugs, sex .....whatever fills the void , can't stop till it's all gone and no ones gonna give you a dime. I'm not saying Lee or anyone else who blows it because of being this way are not to blame , I am saying if you don't have any experience fighting this monster ......well you just don't know unless you have been there.
I live on the edge every day , I am only one drink , pill , or fix away from being over the edge and I don't have the pool skills Lee has so I would really be screwed if I started again
The really freaky thing is I work with lawyers and even some law enforcement in my line of work . They all talk about how good I do my job , how responsible I am ......... If they only knew where I have been and things I have seen .
Hopefully people won't take this post as me saying anyone is an addict or anything . I can only speak for myself , I have been clean over 23 yrs and realize I still have this disease , I can get addicted to the craziest things . God has a sense of humor these days and it's usually something like Nutter Butter Plank Cookies . I went through a phase to where if I did not have a pack in the house I would get crazy .
Hopefully Lee will find his way . I am sorry to rant and carry on . I just hate to see apathetic folks talk about things that they don't understand .

This fiasco is turning out to be quite the saga...
Someone should start writing the book, or the made-for-tv screenplay right now as its unfolding..

" Bonus Ball - The Series "
What will happen next week? Stay tuned for the next madcap adventure...

It's possible that what you are saying MIGHT be BB's ultimate goal.

Maniac (not holding his breath)

This is all so unprofessional and bush league. I was actually starting to get into Bonus Ball, but if you want to run a successful, respectable league, it can't go on breaks, have rumors of people not being paid, have people drunkenly putting up on their facebook walls that there's been eviction notices and then umpteen rebuttals about how it's not true and he said this and he said that.

Bonus Ball is hanging by a thread. If Fatboy is telling the truth, that there's apparently some wealthy people supporting it and that Bonus Ball is fine, it'll be very interesting to see how it plays out, because if I had a lot of money, even if I love pool, I'm not sure I'd be investing it in this soap opera.

Such a shame.
