read your post about playing chess, you sound like a pretty good player. I'm not very good but I enjoy playing, its been a long time since I played. Efren is a good player.

happy New Years

Eric:)
yeah I couldn't make it to his funeral back in England, but I hear lots of big names in the sport showed up to pay their respects. He left behind a daughter. Who knows, maybe some day she'll take her father's reins as a top class snooker player.
hey welcome to AZ, you sound like my wife when I met her. She was really into pool, and then she got out of college and then fell behind.. we have kids now, just wish she had the desire like I do, I live, breathe pool. Just started playing again, 1 nite a month, APA league, I used to play big local tourneys, on 9ft, but bar tables will do for now.
Hi John,

I'm just a small town pool player up here in northern Minnesota. I have never seen a professional play. I have never played 14.1 until Dec. 2010. I had to look up the rules of play and watch a couple of matches on YouTube just to learn the game. I have my own table but sadly it is a 7 foot Valley.

Is it easier with more playing surface because it seems like I have to be very tight with bumping balls around, a little too hard and the ball goes too close to the rail and on a 9' I could have easily pushed it over for the perfect break ball.

I did end up with a 99 ball run, it is posted on the challenge. If you have time with your busy schedule, could you give it a watch, I am 100% open to advice.

Thanks John,

PS Do you have any videos? I would love to watch and study your playing.

Eric, for what it's worth...I think the cue is beautiful. Reminds me of all the intricate inlay on a high end acoustic guitar...which I am a sucker for...LoL! Not everyone can have such a thing of beauty...it's like a museum piece, it should be on one of those enclosed rotating displays. Don't let the peeps get you down.
Hi there! My avatar is actually a gentleman, and he is my inspiration for continuing to play snooker. His name was Paul Hunter and he died of terminal cancer at the age of 27. He wasn't the world's best player but he was very earnest, hard-working, and a truly kind person. I can understand though that he may look effeminate when he used to have long hair before losing it to chemotherapy.
Hey Bud long time no talk to. I think I may be coming out either the 1st or 2nd week of February. Anything going on those weekends? Singles? Double? Anything? I'm still a 7 and a friend of mine is going to come with me. He's probably a 6. We're looking to play ALL weekend. We'll be getting into town late Thursday night. Hope all is well with you and hope to talk to hear from you soon.
hello, I see this somewhat recent, yet pretty outdated thread where you are trying to sell this original ray schuler. Are you still? I would be interested, but $400 is a bit high. Would you consider a $300 offer?
Thanks alot Eric. I will definitely keep a few of the first ones. This is my favorite so far and I know this one will defiinitely be a keeper for me. Take care Eric, Trav Dorn.
