Shane's quote for his Cuetec cue endorsement (on the back of BD November and on the Cuetec website) proclaim cue "has better feel, better aiming system, and most importantly better control".

What does he mean by "better aiming system"?

Is Shane using Cuetec?

Sounds like slick marketing to me. It's worked before many many times. It still amazes me that some people will purchase the cue and think they can play like Shane with it. Companies pay endorsements because they drive revenue.

You mean you haven't seen the "sights" on his cue?

They probably told him that is a key benefit of their product. He is probably thinking it has improved his aim quite a bit(related to aiming more money into his wallet.). I think in general, all pros are not struggling with aiming much. So, I think we can say that he wouldn't be helped if a cuemaker put a line, sight or something aiming related on a cue regardless of if it was a good addition or not.

lol jay i love your comment...but to answer the question yes shane does play with a cuetec cue now and he also still uses his old cue which i believe is either a schon butt and joss shaft or joss cue with schon shaft

I think anyone would say that if there were sponsored. I have yet to see shane play with his old schon/joss stick since his sponsorship.

Shane was playing exclusively with Cuetec while at the U.S. Open recently. He played with the same cue, when he beat Immomen a week before, in NYC, for $20,000 cash!

To the OP...I expect that Shane's comment refers to the technology in the specialized Cuetec shafts (the dynamic selling point of all LD shafts is that they making aiming easier and more accurate). Trust me, Shane just SEES the shot, and it goes in! LOL There is no secret aiming method he uses.

You'd have to ask the guy at cuetec that wrote that. if you're buying into that stuff you ought to do yourself a favor and buy one.

this is what the aim of the pubblicity is.

Earl some years ago was not very pleasant with cuetec, he stated cuetec literally destroyed his game for years.

Its funny. We complain that there are no sponsors in pool then we complain that when someone is sponsored the company actually uses the person to try and sell products.

You want to hear a funny story about Shane and cues?

Before his match with Donny Mills he was practicing shooting long cuts down the rail. John Showman was there talking with me and watching him shoot. John had a cue with him that had been made by Scott Haverland in Dennis Searing's shop. John said the cue was superb and it carried an "S" on the butt because it had been made in Dennis's shop. Anyone who knows Dennis knows he is not putting that on something that doesn't meet his standards. So basically you have this cue that has received the approval from two of the elite cuemakers in the world.

John says "Here let him hit with that and see what he thinks". So I hand Shane the cue and ask him to hit a few with it. He sets up the same shot he was drilling in the hole repeatedly and shoots three of them into the rail, hands the beautiful 4 point Hoppe back to me and says "Too much deflection." then picks up his Cuetec and goes back to drilling in the shot.

Personally I am taking the Hoppe with the "S" on the butt. Deflection be damned.

Fixed it for ya Justin. And yeah. I'd take the Big Daddy cue ANYDAY!

B <--------- always takes his work home with him.

Actually, ask him. He says he "uses the cue to aim". Something with the edge of the cue or something.

I think Shane uses what is called the "shaft method", center of the shaft to the edge of the ball, left side of the shaft to the edge and so on, you can keep breaking it down until its fine tuned. I have seen great improvements pocketing balls using this method but still have to fine tune it while learning other things, still green in this game.

Thanks. I knew I was screwing that up. The cue is a knock out. I played with it some last week.

The new Cuetec's are not your Father's Cuetec. The Cuetec R-360 is the nuts. I've played with a Viking for 40 years and it's collecting dust in my cue rack for the last 4 months since I bought the Cuetec R-360. Johnnyt

What's with the negative replies?

I didn't criticize Cuetecs, Cuetec's Aiming System, Shane, Shane's Aiming System, nor was I dumb enough to think there was an "aiming system" in the cue that would help my game.

I thought I'd put up a comment that seemed worth discussing, and all the sudden people assume very dumb things.

The negative "jump down the OP's throat" comments really devalue the whole system.

Forget I said anything, please don't post responses.
