I have been a member of this forum going on three years. I am retired US. Army, I now own a Pool Hall, that has a full retail section, and a cue repair / custom cue shop. This forum has been a very valuable resource for my business, and for me personally, I have gained a great deal of knowledge and I have learned to respect my fellow members for their help along the way. I am an honest person, when I say something it is what I believe at that time to be the facts. I hate dishonest behavior in all forms, especially when it is designed to take advantage of others, or when it is designed to extort a higher price for something during a sales transaction.

Over the last year I have quietly watched a number of transactions occur on this forum, where items were offered for sale with a posted price that were designed to caught peoples interest. Then when someone contacts the seller and agrees to pay the posted price, the seller stalls the transaction or never contacts the individual who offered what the seller asked in the first place. All the while, other potential buyers who are aligned with the seller begin jumping into the thread attempting to get the first buyer that made offers to increase their offer. Well folks this not eBay, and this behavior is despicable, dishonest, and totally wrong.

This thread has come out of frustration, and it centers around a recent thread in the wanted / for sale section of this forum listed below. Someone, and I suppose it might as well be me needs to expose this behavior so that our membership is protected from these type of sales tactics.

The thread below is only an example of what I am talking about and not the only reason for this rant!!!!! But it is a very good example, please read the entire thread before responding, this is not designed to create a flame war. However, buyers should certainly beware of this behavior.

Have a good day!!!!

guess someone isnt "keepin it real." i feel your pain sir.

today i tried to make a very serious offer and lock up a cue form next week when my income tax comes in. instead it was told i was a joke and i was wasting his time then was called names.

a month or 2 ago the same cue was up for sale. it sat and didnt sell. the cue was offer around the same price and eventually lower via pm to me from. timing was just wrong for me. same model different cue different seller

well now its right. i didnt low ball i offered to buy the cue at his price. just agree to the sale and complete next week.

i seriously thought about posting the his for sale thread but just cant bring myself to do it. not a good way to conduct buisness

what do u think. maybe well hear from him

I just read up to page six on the original thread, then it asked me for a password. Is it just me?

What is the deal? All the sudden the link above is asking for a password to read that forum... Any ideas?

Me too. I was reading it and then it asked me for a password.

That happened to me on another thread..it's appear some threads are been either removed or erased!! I've sent an email to Mr. Wilson to find out why the thread I was debating on was removed. I guess we are hogging bandwidth...not to mentioned debate/argument like these should be kept in a separate second maybe.

Regards,
Duc.

apparently someone has some pull as to not have people continue to read the post. maybe a dealer or something. i don't know but it did the same thing to me. sounds like the way az has been going more often than not lately. or a run of bad luck.

I'M SURE THE MODS PULLED IT DUE TO THE ARGUING AND SWEARING. NOTHING TO DO WITH SOMEONE HAVING "PULL"

going, going, GONE..............

Pretty fast censoring ... I'm in favor of LOCKING the thread when it gets out of hand but not making it disappear ...

I respectfully disagree. I think Buck15 hit the nail on the head.

Same here. I rather see the thread getting locked if it gets nowhere. But not removing it.
