I have been a member of this forum going on three years. I am retired US. Army, I now own a Pool Hall, that has a full retail section, and a cue repair / custom cue shop. This forum has been a very valuable resource for my business, and for me personally, I have gained a great deal of knowledge and I have learned to respect my fellow members for their help along the way. I am an honest person, when I say something it is what I believe at that time to be the facts. I hate dishonest behavior in all forms, especially when it is designed to take advantage of others, or when it is designed to extort a higher price for something during a sales transaction.
Over the last year I have quietly watched a number of transactions occur on this forum, where items were offered for sale with a posted price that were designed to caught peoples interest. Then when someone contacts the seller and agrees to pay the posted price, the seller stalls the transaction or never contacts the individual who offered what the seller asked in the first place. All the while, other potential buyers who are aligned with the seller begin jumping into the thread attempting to get the first buyer that made offers to increase their offer. Well folks this not eBay, and this behavior is despicable, dishonest, and totally wrong.
This thread has come out of frustration, and it centers around a recent thread in the wanted / for sale section of this forum listed below. Someone, and I suppose it might as well be me needs to expose this behavior so that our membership is protected from these type of sales tactics.
The thread below is only an example of what I am talking about and not the only reason for this rant!!!!! But it is a very good example, please read the entire thread before responding, this is not designed to create a flame war. However, buyers should certainly beware of this behavior.
