If you can at least keep up that pace (4-6 minutes of focused practice every 4 or 5 months), then AT LEAST we know you will be able to thrash your husband at pool. Should you wish to thrash anyone else, however, you may need to bulk up those practice minutes a bit.

You know a LOT about practicing - because you really need it. It is therapy.

You know, I was one of these until I took up playing 1 pocket, had no respect for the game at all. Now, I just love it and have a great appreciation for those play it.
I was a pretty fair 9 ball player and THOUGHT i knew a lot about pool until I started playing1 pocket. What I lerned in about ayears time is incredible. I don't claim greatness by any means, but do okay.
The decision making can be so critical in the game and one must know so many more shots than in all other games.
Is any of this because I'm getting older???? Dam right it is!!

If by "roll model" you mean someone who consumes lots of rolls; then you definitely qualify.
I and most others realize that you are just too scared to actually compete; but should that backbone ever grow back in; feel free to let me know. Your realistic chance at victory is hovering somewhere between slim and none (and slim just left town).
While playing pool with you would be equivalent to dueling with an unarmed man; on my next visit to Vegas I would look forward to playing a few games with your wife (who obviously is practicing enough now to destroy you at any game other than one ball...where you might get lucky on the break and win a game or two....errr, that's if you remember which end of the cue to use, and which ball to strike first...it's the white one).
I am saddened to see that living in Vegas has affected you adversely...it is unfortunate that you can no longer differentiate your fantasies from reality...oh well.

Not that I have any skin in the game, this sounds like a DCC TAR match in the making. Of course the appetizing pre-game woofing is still in the early stages, but I have an eye/ear for this sort of thing

I can see it now, several threads, which have no relevance to this match will be inter-dispersed with over-the-top woofing rants between the Betmore and Griffin stables, all up until the 2011 DCC, which, no doubt, will ensure that Justin and Big Nasty will finally be able to retire in luxury as a result of the gate... Again, I have an eye for these things... Gentlemen, start your rantings!

It took me a long time to realize that the game is all that matters in the game of pool. I could be the last guy on earth playing it. I would still think it is the best game of all time.
Dude, I dropped by the HOB in Santa Monica today. All they were talking about is the thumpin' you put on Rich last night. 400 a game ain't bad action. Good job road man!

While watching the women's Olympic curling last night, one of the expert commentators mentioned that pool players make really good curlers because they understand the angles of hits needed to accomplish the desired shot.

9 ball doesn't suck. But if you're going to go all the way over to that pool table, open up your case, screw together your cue, clean up the table, polish the balls, and get the rack .... It's kinda like going the the best steak house in town' placing the napkin in your lap, opening up the dinner menu, and ordering a hamburger. :shrug:

You're right, I had no appreciation for bowling, little for cards... but all pool games; whoa, I could play 300 plus days a year. I love golf, but that bug only bites in June.
