Olathe!!!! What A Joke!!!

I think that is because you are capable of crunching Alex Pagulayan's upper body with only 1 hand... :D

Anyway, regarding the topic. I agree that it's a "shady" move they did, and I completely understand Dennis Orcullo for leaving.

However, what they did was within the rules, and I understand why they did it. They don't want DO to enter the table once more, because after all he is capable of running a 6-pack or more on them, and then he would be the winner of the tournament

The lesson: New and improved rules!

I f that kid doesn't want to admit what happened was wrong.. THEN HE WILL NEVER BECOME A GOOD PERSON.... he might become a great player but not a good person...he is the future of pool maybe..he should at least admit that what happened was wrong........but within the rules

hmm........pool......good people?, admitting fault?.........oh and lets not forget the "big bet" that's on every profile match by those looking to make a quick buck at the expense of the game/players...........sounds like a soap opera to me...;)

skins ---------- happens to like soaps :) ( no offense Jamie, i couldn't resist )

I think what is wrong is that you spout YOUR viewpoint as what happened and anyone who disagrees is a bad person, idiot, monkey, whatever.

I hope you realize what you have done to your reputation here.

Shane exercised a legal option to pass a tough table back to Banks in hopes of gaining a better shot later in the rack. Dennis was on life support whether it was $3000 or $300. Dennis broke down. Go ask any player on earth this question "If a player breaks down his cue, puts it in his case, and walks out of the tournament area. Is it a forfeit?" The whole " But it's a ring game" defense has no merit. Shane ran over to the TD's desk to find out what happened. After 5 min Banks shot at the 8.

The was no malice or conspiracy. The only thing I wish would have happened different was that I wish Mike would have hit that 8 ball a 100 mph instead of lagging up to it. At that point it was meaningless anyway, but to people looking for any excuse to cry "business" it gave the vultures all they needed.

I also want to say this. No man talks to me in person like you are speaking here. You take that for whatever its worth.

Thanks for clarifying the order of things that happened. Makes perfect sense.

I got a little pissed off in this thread and said somethings I maybe should not have. If I was out of line I apologize.

I debated removing my posts but I have always felt a man should be responsible for his actions so unless a mod or admin tells me to I will leave them.

As far as Jamie McWhorter, you believe what you believe. You are a grown up and you have the right to state your opinion. I got a little hot and responded the wrong way. I apologize.

I will post the video and after that I am done with this.

I'm gonna preface this by saying that I have been known to run my jaw and have to dig my way out of it. I haven't been known to shy away from conflict with anyone, it has been a considerable character flaw that I have worked to correct.

That being said, if I were someone the stature of McWoofer I don't think I would be writing checks with my mouth that my ass couldn't cash. It ain't like this guy, who is the size of a small import, is gonna be a stranger at these events from now on.

Jamie, you have made some pretty outrageous posts here but calling this dude names is probably the single dumbest thing you have done in a while. I hope you come to this realization and backpedal. If not, I would gladly watch the Collett/McWoofer matchup on TheActionReport.com

Thanks so much for all your (and your crew) efforts in Olathe. It really let a lot of people enjoy top-notch LIVE pool action, from the comfort of their homes.

I can't believe I actually read this whole thread.

In the end, I only have a few comments:

What JCIN and his crew did was awesome and I don't care what anyone says, I'd rather be able to watch these games than check my tv listings for ESPN garbage or have nothing else to watch. For a first try, these guys did fantastic. I can't wait to see how their site might grow.

Leaving the next guy a thin cut shot, maybe helping to get the #1 or #2 player out of the game when you stand to make $5k more, the modern world of 24 hrs a day poker shows where bullying the small stack is standard.... I have a hard time trying to crap all over the guys who had the nuts to pony up $3k and put their game on display.

I'd bet my soul J.McW wouldn't say half this sh*t to JCIN in person without a gun and try and back it up :D Sorry ...couldn't resist.

Do you think that Doyle B would actually call an all in with a 10/2 to win the world. The Chop was already in effect as it always is. So calling with that hand was no big thing. In Poker the Chop is an expected deal before the result. In pool its known as a saver or keeper. Where there is money concerned there will always be deals. The only way out of it is to have contracts like the World Poker tour has that does not let you participate in this kind of thing.

Congratulations to Shane McMinn, Mike Banks Jr., Dennis Orcullo, and James Walden the top 4 finishers. They all played some of the best 10 ball I have ever seen. With great heart, and with no quit in them for 3 days. None of them ever gave up, accept Dennis when he was down to his last barrel.
As a spectator this was the best tournament format, I have ever witnessed. It was very exciting from the beginning to end. I hope they do it again next year ! All the players, Shooters staff, and the guys from the action report made this event a first ever to be viewed live on the internet. Also a special thanks to Evelyn and Danny Dysart for helping to put this all together.
Trash talking this tournament is absurd, and what is really hurting the game of pool.

Along with the video, please post a pic of McNugget. I want to see the person that acts this way but has the nerve to come on here and tell others how they act.

I couldnt be happier Mike & Shane did so well....probably because I had a piece of their action as well. Too bad the roles werent with Harriman.

Obviously, you've not played either of these "no-namers." And apparently, you didn't watch them play over the weekend. They both deserved to be where they were based on the strength of their play -- as individuals.

And IF McMinn took a calculated risk by letting Jr. shoot again, because he didn't think he was the favorite to get out, then that's just a smart move -- happens all the time in a ring game. It doesn't mean there's some sinister "agreement."

You can't be that naive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems to me then the problem lies in the rules. The players just took advantage of the rules to give them an advantage. To call them cheats and insult their integrity seems to go overboard. Has this not ever happened or been thought of before? Seems to me this would be common in this type of game when it got down to the last few players if the rules allowed it. A rule change should be looked into to avoid these type situations.

I really can't believe so many on here don't get it. YOU CAN'T PLAY 2 AGAINST ONE AND THAT IS WHAT WAS GOING ON...THAT IS CHEATING AND IF IT WAS A STRAIGHT CASH GAME SOMEONE COULD GET SHOT!!!!!!!!!

Like Bud Green, I can't believe I've read this whole thread. I was interested because I had watched a lot of the tourney on the Action Report. Also, I was watching the final 3 players but must have tuned out before seeing the controversial (sp) play. So far we have heard from people that were there, others that know the players involved, Mike Banks himself plus, there has been a lot of name calling.

Of course any collusion between players would be disturbing but right now I can't make an informed judgement on this. It looks like we will have to see the video to have a better handle on all this and settle this for good. I just hope the video is able to show the point at which DO concedes the game.

One thing is for sure, The Action Report did a fine job.

I watched the event Friday and Saturday. Liked the format. The problem with ring games is they kept it at $100 per game forever. In my opinion they should have raised the bet sooner and kept raising it instead of at the end playing for so much per game when one or two lucky breaks beats you. DO probably won far more games than anyone else in the tournament. DO should not have unscrewed his cue and left because Banks did not run out. If he would have been standing there it would have been interesting to see if Banks would have sold out to Shane.

then obiously you don't have the integrity of the game either. is it because that the locals favorites are intimadated by a player of orcullo's stature. compare the sizes of the two that brought the little giant. Dennis unscrewed his cues because of he felt that it is more honorable to take the lost that be bullied. You bring to the table your game, but obiously they dont have game. i applaud dennis of his decision.

Hey Earl,

This is Will. I watched the entire weekend, and was sure watching the 3-way ring game at the end. We`ve known each other 25-30 years, so take it from me that there was nothing funny going on AT ALL. I know how you play, and I would set the shot up on the 1-ball and let you shoot it all day long for $100 a shot, and I REALLY like my chances. ;)

You would have passed the shot, just like McMinn did.:o

The tournament was unbelievable, and every player I spoke with genuinely liked the format and competition. One heck of a lot of work by Dan Tull and everyone at Shooters, Great work by TD`s Evelyn and Danny, and a superhuman level of effort by The Action Report. :) :) :)

It makes me sick that someone like jamie mcworther starts chirping the way he has, he represents the real reason pool has had an uphill battle lately.:D

Will
