I just got off the phone with Terry. He is in good spirits and blown away by all the well wishers here. He truly doesn't understand how valuable he is to this forum.
Here's the situation. He is scheduled for surgery on Friday but he has a serious viral infection and the doctors are telling him they will have to postpone the surgery until he recovers from it. Terry is a tough guy and he wanted to go ahead anyway. I come from a family of doctors and I suggested that it might be best to listen to their advice. You don't want any complications when you are undergoing anesthesia. And what he's having is major surgery, four to five hours long.
He is having several bones removed and replaced with cadaver bones, plus screws and pins put in to hold it all together. He will be in a back brace for months and won't be able to sit down. He is worried that he won't be able to play pool again. I told him just be glad if you can walk normally, let alone play pool.
I asked him to find a way to keep us posted on his progress because he has a lot of friends on here. He wanted everyone to know how good it made him feel that so many people care about him. Terry is the old fashioned strong silent type who doesn't like to show any emotion but I heard it in his voice.
It looks like now his surgery will be postponed at least one week. The respiratory infection he has is a bad one and they do not want to operate until he has recovered fully. If he contacts me again I will let you know.
