Viffer the Stiffer

2 shows I sometimes watch....

may bear some relevance to this situation:

Judge Judy: I see an endless parade of imbeciles coming into her courtroom destroying long time friendships over what, a few hundred bucks? For how long did Lenny, Jack, Scott, & Billy know Dippy? And the bet was for more than a few hundred, right?

The First 48: I see an endless parade of imbeciles killing one another over what, a twenty dollar bag of crack?

The lesson: Friends, or at least people who may have been considered friends, can betray you over money; even small amounts of it. Non-friends, if given the chance, will bag you for all your money, if it's in their character to do so. The more money there is, the more tempted they are.

As referenced above; people get killed every day for twenty bucks. I certainly don't know the particulars of this situation other than what has been posted here but I would have to say if Dippy is getting into the stiffing business, he should be advised that it can be very risky to one's health.

P.S. Probably nothing to worry about with pool players, though. In my experience, generally speaking, they are a very shy, peaceful, and forgiving group.

P.P.S. Post, post, post.....

I saw on Penn & Teller Bullsh!t show that if you pucker & tighen your a$$hole while taking a lie detector test, it will throw the results off. I guess if there was a bet to be made between Viffer and Lenny - it could come down to who is better at doing just that.

It does seem strange that if someone was paid they would accuse someone else of not paying them $4,000. Just saying.

I know Dippy was in action with quite a few people out in Vegas. How is everyone else standing? I mean was Scott the last one to match up with him before all the action ended? If that is the case then maybe Dippy just ran out of $$$ on that last set. Just trying to figure out why he would stiff scott if everyone else has been payed (or have they?) I would be interested to know if Gabe and Corey got their $$. I think Shane played him too.

Watchez;

If I read Dippy's response right, I think he is saying that he settled with Scott and that it's Scott who is stiffing Lenny, et al.

And he's also saying Lenny should get off drugs, and that Lenny should get a life.

He seems to be very concerned for Lenny. ;)

I would love to see a lie detector test go down. Just bet (Viffer and Scott only) who pays the $50,000 to the partners on the test. If they both pass, push. If they both lose, push. If only one passes, pay up.

I will not call into question either of the individual's credibility, but you are an imbecile if you don't at least consider that you could be getting screwed by anyone for $50,000.

Thread Jack:

That guy on Penn and Teller lost his girl friend for what? Cause he went to vegas. Sure cost him a lot of trouble.

Anybody who believes lie detector tests are anything more than a carnival act is kidding themselves. There is a reason they aren't admissable in court.

Trying to clear things up

Do I understand this (following) part of the disagreement correctly?

Lenny says Dippy never paid Scott, that it wasn't possible because Scott was off with Billy getting money at the time.

Dippy says he paid Scott. Any witnesses to this pay-off Dippy?

If these basics are correct, this shouldn't be that difficult for calm heads to navigate. I hope you guys get it corrected without excessive consternation.

This forum is full of Lie Detectors! My bet is that the poker player made an extra bet after being all in! The little childish one liners only help prove that point!

I respect your opinion usually, however I have to really disagree with you on this. I have personally watched hundreds of Jerry Springer episodes and the evidence speaks for its self. I am sure you can find more than one episode on youtube that will possibly make you change your mind and your opinion on lie detector tests. One sticks out in my mind named "Are you my baby daddy" Check it out.

Shouldn't this be in the action forum? I doubt that Incardona is going to chime in here.

One thing that people should realize is that all over the United States it is ILLEGAL to bet on the outcome of a sporting match except with the sports books in Las Vegas.

Only the participants in the contest of skill can wager against each other.

So it's a bit ludicrous to air out this type of laundry on a public forum where all the participants are known.

Doubtful that anything will come of it but you will not see me admitting to a felony on a public forum no matter if I think that the action in question should be allowed or not. (ftr I think that it should be legal)

Dave,

I know it's emotional losing a match to someone you personally don't like and who was disrespectful. There have been times where I hated to pay someone who I lost to - but once I calmed down I realized it was the right thing to do.

It wasn't just action with Scott - it was obviously more involved. Lenny is a good people. Why don't you just get together behind the scenes and settle it? Sounds like Scott owes you an apology and you might owe on the last set. The right thing to do for everyone is to get this settled - privately.

Ya'll beat a guy out of over $100,000 then wine about $4000...just saying !!!

i think it is about 50k. !

I may have to reread to see if it is clear in this thread, but thats what i was thinking from the first read.
