Chohan did win the first set of ten ball - ten ahead on the tight nine foot Gold Crown in the back room.
They started around three and it was over just before nine oclock.
They started a set of ten ahead nine ball just after nine oclock. I actually did watch that second set until about 1:20AM. It was a pretty strange match. I've certainly never seen two strong players like Kirkwood and Chohan play for three or four hours and pocket balls on the break less than one shot in five. To be honest I think 20% might even be a bit of a stretch. I'm pretty sure Kirkwood went on something like a two for sixteen drought at one point. Chohan wasn't breaking much better. I'd never really seen anything like that.
How about only four break and runs in three or four hours of play? That's the way it went. Every time a player would make a great out-they would break and come up dry or not have a shot. Most of the games averaged four of five innings at least. For every break and run there were three racks contested with seven or eight kick shots.
One of the ugliest looking battles I've seen between players that speed. Lot of fustration with the break for sure. Nobody was really *****ing though. Both players always pretty business like.
Chohan was up 4 games in the second set at 1:30AM.
He just made fewer mistakes.
Both players made several.
