Where is my man Mr. Hann. Hes up next for John, Danny will just have to wait. Hows a big 8 ball set sound?

I've just read this entire thread. Seems like there are some hard feelings both ways. There appears to be some provocation on the part of both players. This can happen during a serious gambling match where ego's are involved. Which was definitely the case here, as the world knew about this match.

All in all though, I've heard much worse in poolrooms before where big money was on the line (and the light). I can't tell you how many matches I've seen where the players almost came to blows over a "possible" foul, an "incorrect" ball count or an "incorrect" score. The language used during these altercations was definitely X Rated and incendiary. Yet, the same players mended their fences and managed to continue the match. It's not pretty but it's all part of the game.

Pool has a way of getting to people and making them behave in ways they ordinarily wouldn't. The psychological aspect to pool is not often discussed, but is a big part of what makes champions or bums. Some can deal with it better than others.

What I was trying to say is watch what you say and who you say it to. I don't think that John would pull that move if there would be consiquence. That is the fruity part of what he said and how/when he chose to say it. After knowing that his "friend" had asked him not to.

No, I am not offering to do anything for Danny. He has not asked me to. He knows he could.

Something else I was trying to say.

The world would be a better place, if after you chose to say something as childish as that, you had to face up to it. People don't! Hell 14 yr old kids call their mommies that all the time now and no one even blinks an eye.

I was also saying you would be a fool in thinking that if you chose to use those words towards me in my yard. You know the place where you can't use them without consiquence. The last place left..

You would not see a modern gentleman (fruity,) you would get to see a real Gentleman. One that would punch you into the ground if you said that. After I told you not to. That is a kind of respect I guess some people don't know about.

No I'm not in the peacetree or whatever you said. I'm not going to look it up in your well thought out post.

I'm not for peace like you implied...Who want's that?
What now you are putting down peace?
What kind of person talks down peace????? sorry I had to ask I never thought any one would use a humanitarian group to insult someone. I have seen it all now.

After reading this whole thread I definitely will not purchase the price to see these two match up again. Kind of remarks like "thats why people wont play golf with you" is moronic. What are we in grade school? The both of you are obviously light weights in the brains department. Your silly bickering is really disgusting and fit for toilet stalls much less a billiards forum. You guys should have taken a peek at Efren Reyes and Scott Frost and how they behaved for some clues in Championship behaviour. No whining here just aggressive professional pool. Its not a wonder why both Reyes and Frost stand so high in their field.

Two guys that are pissed off at each other, no reason for any of us to hold anything against either one of them or pick sides! people make mistakes and this doesnt effect our lifes so all is good an life goes on. ;) wake up tomarrow give the wife a kiss an go to work :p and treat your self to a couple egg mcmuffins and a hash brown lol :D :D

danny and john go back a long way and have a little bit of history. not to mention they were playing for a lot of money, and there was a lot of pressure on. people say these things and get wound up. it's part of being human, especially when we're in pressure situations like that.

efren and scott played a challenge match. slight difference.

Quite a naive point of view about a gambling match. As Jay pointed out, what went down here was very mild in comparison to such matchs...most of which are illegal under most state laws in the first place.

Stating that they are "light weight in the brains department" is ridiculous.
Even Mosconi had to be physically restrained from time to time when tempers flaired.

You stated..."What are we in grade school?" No, but this ain't the Boy Scouts either. This is Ames Mister.

Yeah and for every one person that would actually boycott future matches that would have bought had there been no drama, there are 20 that WILL buy future matchups.

I like both these guys and I also think the rubber match is much more interesting now because of the differences that they were willing to share with us.I also think that they both stumbled into a very marketable product with their trash talking and insults and I would like to share the commentary duties with someone like Grady so we all can have a lot of fun and watch a great match. Actually this in my opinion and is exactly what pool needs to get noticed. By the way Danny you'll have to raise your speed in trash talking a notch or two to stay competitive. So lets get it on.

Let me get this straight......

Danny is the mommy and John is the 14 year old? Shouldn't you be calling out Danny then for not doing anything to his child? I hope this doesn't sound mean, but your posts are incredibly stupid. Please don't beat me up for saying that:D.

You know what's really funny about this? For the last month or so I have been hooked on Ultimate Fighting. In just about 99% of the times when there are pre and post match interviews the combatants are very nice about the other guy.

These are guys who go at each other brutally in the octagon but are right there to be cool with each other afterward.

Well, it's unfortunate that this has erupted like this but it is what it is.

I do think that there needs to be a #3 though.

good post Billy. I agree with you 100%. The rivalry factor makes their next match up that much more attractive. A little trash talk is good for the sport and getting people excited about the match. By the way, in reference to two well known pros having a flame war over the internet, I'll quote a dear friend of mine, Tony the Tiger when he says "They're GRRRRRREEEEAAAAAATTTTT!".

Man you're weird. On one hand you talk about smashing someone into the ground and then you wonder why someone would talk down peace?

I thought I've seen it all until I've read your post.

Maybe it's because they learned respect.

So you think that respect should be taught by getting your @ss kicked? You're a genius.

But that Hamilton guy, whoever he is, isn't a great pool player. The only elite pool players with the name of Alexander that I know of are Mr. Pagulayan and Mr Lely.

By the way...Did you every see the great & epic movie entitled "Red Dawn"?
