A friend called me from the Southwest Regional 8 Ball event held at the Radisson Conference Center at Fort McDowell, Arizona, this past week saying that Earl Strickland was being harassed by a female in the audience attending his exhibition. According to my friend's account, Earl just broke down his cue and walked off. My friend and his pals traveled 100 miles to watch Earl. Needless to say, they felt cheated!

Larry,
We went to the tourney yesterday and watched Earl for quite some time. I think we were the group Ken (BRKNRUN) was talking about in his post that was talking to Earl when he was talking about his wrap.
I don't know why your friend and his friends felt cheated, as the event didn't draw many people, and Earl literally talked to the people watching like we were in his living room.
He was very cordial and entertaining. He talked with us like he knew us and told some great pool stories, talked about his cue, told us about a tennis game he had with Stan Smith, etc., and walked over to shake hands and thank us for being there when we left. I couldn't imagine more personal treatment! We went into the casino and did a little gambling and when we came back, Earl was still at the tourney talking to people even though the exhibition was over.
In the video that KoolKat9Lives put up, it looked like the same thing was going on there the day your friend was there. The chick walked up to the table and was obviously a little lit, and Earl was having a good time with her.
I've caught a lot of the Earl bashing and he does have his moments, but I sure didn't see anything except a gentleman and a legendary player at this match...
Regards,
Steve
