I think there is slight confusion over the comment about roommates. If you go back and read Lenny's post where he brings this up, it appears that he is saying to Dippy that it is not reasonable to think that Scott, who was Billy's roommate (in a Vegas hotel room at that time - I remember Billy & Scott joking on air about their hotel arrangement), would rip Billy off. The comma placement in the orig post may have made it appear otherwise. I think I have the context correct.

Well however you read it is fine. I know Scott and the dishwasher are roommates. Lenny is roomates with his girlfriend and two children.

I think a communal living arrangement will clear up one aspect of the confusion.

Now, where's the loot?

Viffer has reached new levels of popularity it appears. :)
I don't know what really happened and neither does anyone else on here. I do know this - If I had bet $4,000 on a match, I would want it perfectly clear who I was betting with and who was holding my dough. I wouldn't worry about hurting someone's feelings either. I might even insist on holding all the money (all eight grand). A little too much confusion going on here.

Some how, some way, I think Lenny got taken advantage of here. If no one else was putting up any money, why did Lenny have to post? But if he did get taken advantage of, he needs to look at how that happened and why. I can't tell you how many times I've seen confusion on the pay outs after a match. Some day I will tell the story about the $3,000 a man Ring Game at DCC a few years back. Six players were in it, and I had a piece of Johnny and Jose. They "agreed" to split up the money when it got down to just those two left. Afterwards they couldn't agree on exactly what the agreement was! Yes, you heard me right.

About eight or nine of us (all with a vested interest) had to go up to a hotel room to figure out how to split up the money. There was a lot of hollering going on in that room and because I was the only one with a piece of both players, ultimately I had to decide how to chop it up. In the end Johnny's team got 12K and Jose's team got 6K. I had put up $2,000 total and ended up with $3,500 total my end. So it wasn't all bad. :)

when I first got into pool, I had something similiar happen to me. I was 'in' with two friends, betting per game. We were out of town and I had to leave. We were winner when I left. The bet got increased after I left - they wound up winning $15K. I got $220 cause they said that they never increased my bet and I was betting the same amount per game.

I was 'in' with a friend while in Vega$ when he was playing Viffer. I was dead tired and ready to go to the room. I told him, before I left, I had a certain % and I didn't care if he was playing pool, cards, badminton or betting the size of his manhood, I was in for the same % no matter what....and guess what, I got mine.

Live and learn.

Sorry for my confusion on the roommate issue - however, I believe Scott and Lenny are friends so there has to be communication there.

Pool players with dollar signs in their eyes may make concessions to engage in action that they may not normally do.

It's called having their "nostrils wide open."

I think that the parties involved are probably keeping mum, hoping to have this straightened out to everyone's satisfaction. :smile-us-down:

Sometimes a party could be swayed one way or the other by people's words, even other people's words that may not be involved. :smile2:

Any player who's accustomed to action games is usually conscientious of their opponent's likes and dislikes. They may try to accommodate their opponent if the potential exists for a nice score, even if it means playing under conditions they might not normally play under.

A good action man creates a comfortable environment. :welcome:

When negativity arises, it puts an end to the festivities. :thud:

have you ever lost betting on pool?

There are more scenarios here than on CSI. What is the most compelling is the fact that DD has been posting about gambling with lots of other people in the weeks /months to come and this thread comes about yesterday. Until Scott or Billy or anyone else confirms any of this on here it will do absolutely nothing except bump all the APA threads off the first page.....so keep it up everyone.

I think you stone cold gamblers should consider this possibility: most of the money is back in the Vegas gambling economy already.

Lenny noted in a stream last week that Scott had spent more than a week in a WHALE suite at one of the new hotels during and after the Viffer episode. At one point two suites. Several other tidbits about spending. He also was out of touch with Scott for a long time after he left Viffer/Vegas.

Could be a replay of one of the oldest stories in gambling boys.

My 2 cents which means nothing!

Looks like Billy was backing Scott in the match! They are up 2 sets for $50K a set for a total of $100K. Lenny said that Dippy announced to the room he would take all bets. Lenny should have went to Dippy with the $4K not Scott. Billy and Scott are up $100K, did he think he was in on the last set with them. Do you really think someone is going to let someone in on the last set when they feel they have the nuts. If Scott let Lenny in then he owes Lenny $8K, if not then he need to give Lenny his $4K back.

After all Dippy had paid the first 2 sets, just doesn't seem like Dippy's style not to pay! IMHO

wrong man

Lenny posted that Scott is now his roommate. I would think that Lenny consulted Scott before he posted this thread and then would consult Scott again once Viffer made the claim that he paid all money to Scott to disperse.

The odd thing is that Viffer has been posting on here for over a month about how much higher in character he is than the pool player.
Scott's roomate is Jimmy, the owner of Kolby's

is there anyne besides scott saying i owe them money?

lenny i havent met you. sorry bud but dont have any thing to say to you.

scott can take a lie detector test and you can stream it, if he passes ill give you 4k

ask him if he was paid by me

ask him if he has ever dumed anyone

ask him if he has ever stiffed anyone

ask him if he is proud of the way he has acted

Well, Dave's saying he's all paid up. So maybe all you guys better all get together and work on this privately and keep it non-public until it's worked out.

Chris

I just want to add that we have no reason to doubt either Dave or Lenny's word in this matter. Dave has been emotional and outspoken but there has been no indication whatsoever that he does not pay his bets.

I would like to add that Dave has been forthright in his messages in the Action Room as well. Obviously, this matter questioning his integrity is bothering him and he is saying he's paid up. My experience tells me that people who are ducking a payoff don't act in this manner - plus we have no reason to doubt Dave's integrity.

That is a really bad idea.

I've never met you but if I can pass a polygraph test saying you owe me money will you pay up?

Wow......I'm sorry to hear about that Lenny. Thats a real tough spot to be in. I know you are married with a couple of kids.

A wife and two kids at home and you're takin' a chance on 4-large??? You either have more money than sense, have a gambling addiction, or are a complete loser of a father. I'm thinking it is the first option. At least, I'd like to think it is. Now, I'm not saying that you are a loser of a father IF your wife has giving you her blessings in handling pool action at your own disgression. But, if you're sneaking behind her (and the kids) back betting money that could be used for college educations or your kids' futures, it's a cryin' shame, although I must admit that it's really none of my damn business. Just sayin'.........

Scott is a bum and a loser...he probably spent all the money in Vegas on gambling and girls. The pool world has seen his act several times. It is sad cause he has all the talent in the world. Viffer is a con artist so it is hard telling who is right or wrong here.

I think that is a little off base. I know that back in the day when I was on the road with Gary, I had a side stash, mostly money won gambling or swapping cues, that was aside from my "family money". I never dipped into "family money" to finance gambling, but often after a score I'd make home improvement, new carpets, furniture etc.. out of my side stash, leaving a little "seed money" aside for the next opportunity. It takes money to make money and sometimes taking a shot at a score does the family unit a lot of good. I know in my case it did.
