Many thanks!!

I still love my wife
Silver Member
I have thought and thought about how I could ever express the sincere and deep felt thankfulness and gratitude toward my friends here at AZB.
After I returned home from the hospital, my great pal Hu "Shooting Arts" Lowery, (who could probably also pass a state certification to practice doctering, what with all I found out he knows about the subject) told me that many of you decided to pool (pun intended) some money together and see to it that I received a lap top computer! I was and still am blown away by this! I certainly don't desrve something so nice and I know so many people who were and / or are worse off than me. I never felt that I was any better or different than anyone else who posts here, so I just could not fathom why this great act of kindness was done. I still can't figure out how I got so lucky to have such caring, sincere and great friends! All the prayers, phone calls and get well wishes, along with this wonderful gift, are not only deeply appreciated, they will never be forgotten! I have been so blesses by so many of you here that it borders on unbelievable! I could never say enough how thankful I am and how very much I sincerely appreciate your kindness!

I wanted to try last week to start posting again, but after just sitting / laying in the car back & forth to the Dr's, I still was not able to get downstairs to sit for any length of time. Well, a delivery man rang our doorbell late yesterday afternoon and delivered a very handsome lap top computer, courtesy of the wonderful people of AZBilliards!!! My wife set it up and charged it up overnight. I waited & waited to log on here because, in all sincerity, I didn't have any idea on just how to properly express my deep gratitude to so many of you! So, I logged on and just started typing!

A very special thank you goes out to Hu, who has become like an older brother to me over the past year or so, for acting as both the "treasurer" of the monies sent and as a liason in sending messages back & forth between me and other AZers. I also got a nice little bear from "Sweet Marissa" that is in utter repose in my poolroom. Thanks S.M.! David Sapolis (Blackjack) also called me and then, after telling Tommy Kennedy how I was, T.K. himself called! I asked Hu to tell me who all contributed and he will send me a list of who contributed but not what or how much they contributed, as many of the generous people did not want me to know how much they contribed. I totally understand & respect that, but I want to make 100% certain that everybody who did help or even wanted to help but financially couldn't knows how much they touched not only me, but also my family! I can never express just how much this has blessed me! Not the lap top per say, but just the thought of doing something so nice for someone is incredible! It really is. Those who helped out, you have great hearts! Don't ever let anyone ever tell you that pool players are cheapskates when it comes to helping others. That is simply not true. Even though money is so tight for so many of us, the AZers still got together and did something awsome!

I'm going to spend some time going back thru the threads I missed. Can't wait to get caught up in the goings on here and in pooldom!

A quick update on the back....still have the pic line in my arm at the bicep that goes into the heart for the meds. It will most likely come out in another 2 weeks. I still have the nurse, physical & occupational therapists coming to the house Mon-Fri. I spend most of the other time laying down or being very sleepy from all the meds I'm on. Will probably start out patient P.T. sometime in November.

To keep this "pool related", I would someday like to meet Fong Pang Chao.

Thanks again so very much for this nice act of friendship and love.
I just don't have the right words to properly express just how grateful I am for my pals here!

Great to have you back with us Terry. We all have missed your posts as much as you have missed posting them. I wish you the best for a full recovery. Johnnyt

So good....

to see you post once again. You have freely shared your knowledge and passion for the game, and its history, that so many of us on here love. I believe the gift was, in part, selfishness by some of us. We just wanted you back posting without waiting the time it will take to get you downstairs.
Hang in there as you continue to improve your health and it's great to see you back.

Todd

Terry I have heard many a wise man say that you make your own luck and I believe that is true. What I mean is you get out of life what you put into it, so don't tell us you don't know what you do to deserve what you get. It is great to see your posts again and yes you are correct about Hu one of a kind and he is always watching out for us. Take care and I cant wait until your %100 again.

Great to have you back, Terry! You've been through a lot so just take it easy and get well.

Hu did a wonderful job of organizing the gift. He is really a friend in need (is a friend indeed).

Welcome back, Terry, you'll be your old self in no time. Take good care.
:p

:happydance:

Terry, it's great to finally hear from you. You've been in my thoughts often, and I hope your recovery is as quick and easy as possible.

Stay strong, my friend. I'm pulling for you.

a selfish act

Terry,

Getting you back online a few weeks or months early was a selfish act on my part. We need you here on AZB!

Just having you posting again is more than enough thanks for the little bit of effort required to make this happen. Don't get too carried away though, rest is more important than trying to get caught up on AZB in the first day or two.

Hu

Awesome to hear from you again Terry! We were counting on your wife to find the start button on your lap!

We can only imagine the difficulties you've been staring down, and we're hoping your back gets back and you get it all back. (something like that...)
