RIP Chad "Big Nasty" Pollman

Big nasty rip

Still thinking of all the hours spent working and talking smack with Big Nasty. Opened Breaktime Billiards in SD in 2000 and Chad ran the underage pool hall in the basement, he always enjoyed working with the juniors and the late night crowd (most nights he was there till 4 or 5am). What a perfect job for Chad who's going to mess with this man.
Chad was very popular with the pool community and will be missed not only in SD but worldwide. Just talked to him on the phone on Monday about BCA, pool leagues and casino tournaments. Glad I met the BIG man with a BIG heart and will always consider Chad a real friend.
We'll always remember BIG CHAD and there was nothing NASTY about Chad just very intimidating. That reminds me the first time I met Chad. I was in SD playing pool at the Nickel Spot with a buddy playing two top players in SD for 100.00 a set scotch doubles, we were up 3 or 4 sets but the tables were pretty close together and Chad was playing on the next table and was side betting on the locals. My partner kept running into Chad while shooting and was getting upset. He turned to me and asked if I had his back, even though I had a 12pack in me I said look at this man I want to walk out of here! By the end of the evening we were talking about opening a pool hall in SD. Glad to spend a small part of my life with Chad. RIP

I'm numb. Chad was a good dude for sure. He could take a ribbing well especially when we gave him sh!t for name dropping like he loved to do. I had many a good times on the TAR broadcasts with him, doing commentary or just shooting the bull.....or watching him sleep.

He had many of the same views I have on how people should treat each other and I know it irked him to no end when he was disrespected.

Anyways, he will be missed. JCIN and Chad have done something that has changed the landscape of pool and brought it into the 21st century. Chad, with his TAR mobile, driving to events with the passenger seat out of his car to fit all the equipment in, he showed dedication to no end.

We should all be appreciative for what Chad took the time to do for all of us. He certainly didn't get rich off of the ideas of TAR. I understand that there is going to be a fundraiser planned and ANYONE that has had the enjoyment of Chad's work should get involved. Funerals are not cheap and I for one will definitely be giving something back to help a family of a man that will be missed.

This is sad news indeed, Chad will be remembered and missed by many. Condolences to his family and friends, may he rest in peace.

With Chad's help, maybe there will be a new TAR sky cam.

RIP my friend. Never met a man with a bigger heart.

Dont have a whole lot to say right now other than Chad was a good man with a great heart and he changed my life for the better. I'll miss him.

This absolutely sucks..... A great guy and a great friend to the sport.

I've said this here before, and specifically to Nasty himself. If you are a big man get yourself tested by a sleep doctor for sleep apnea!!! Even if you're a little guy, if you snore while sleeping, have yourself tested. Don't let your family doctor make the call, go to a sleep specialist and go thru a sleep study!!! Without insurance, it is costly, but its the best money you can ever possibly spend!!! IT WILL MOST LIKELY SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Kid Delicious had an apnea induced heart attack, if his girlfriend had tried to get him up 5 minutes later than she did it would have been an apnea death. Remember Reggie White that played for the Eagles and Packers? Dead at 43 from apnea induced death. I have it and its amazing how much better life is getting the oxygen I need while sleeping. It has improved my whole, daytime and nighttime. Done preaching now.

Godspeed Big Cobbler...... You are already missed brother!

wow....

When I read this thread it actually took me a couple of minutes to process it and believe it.... man that sucks... My condolences to everyone who knew and will miss him. I know the pool world just took a slight hit today and it's sad...
